You are correct. Rado is absolutely massive in the sub continent especially in Pakistan and India. I was once with a businessman friend in Dubai and he was wearing a sub mariner but when we got to the Rado store he was more excited to purchase the Rado than what he had on the wrist. It is an aspirational brand over there.

My goodness, you have raised your bar regarding production value in style, in these videos. This one starts with a spectacular and well framed title page, your macro shots are fantastic, and it seems to me, young man, if you've got a lot of stylish clothing you are horsing around with.
Seriously, you are establishing an upscale style to your videos, and it looks good.
I love that you are reviewing these Rado watches, and that you did take time to note the rotating logo. You know, they have a patent on that and it has a secondary function beyond aesthetics... It spins on a jewel just like those in the rest of the mechanism, and when it stops spinning, get sticky, well the watch needs to be maintained because it's the same oil and the same ruby the rest of the watch uses.
    Really cool watches, great review!

Great comment, Erik. Thanks for providing more context on the rotating logo. Also thank you for the kind words on the production. I have been working hard to improve the style of videos being created on this channel. Glad it is being noticed! Stay safe!

I've had this Rado CC for over half a year now and it's a fantastic piece. One of the best price / value ratios in this category in my opinion. Swaping the straps / bracelet so easily helps me to never get bored of it.

I bought the 37mm special edition and I couldn't be any happier. The 37mm has a bigger appearance on the wrist than its dimensions and really love the fact it comes with 3 different straps. Rado made an excellent discision to look back at its archives and reissue this lovely unknown vintage and did so with great success. My biggest love about this watch which no one has mention is that the mesh bracelet can be adjusted to any size which allows a perfect fit on the wrist and looks so attractive on the wrist. Not many bracelets out there can do that!!

Rado is one of the most durable watches I’ve ever owned. I got my first one when I graduated and I still get compliments on that watch. Their design and innovative material choices stand out even to this day. A lot of watch brands say their watches are scratch proof, but a good 15 years later my first Rado looks and feels like new

Oh, yeah, I saw that one on Watchfinder & Co not so long ago and got it in 42mm. Design is so perfect, as well as specs and price. Another similar cool vintage inspired dive watch would be Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, but it demands a Submariner price))

    Addendum for 3:12.
The 37mm version that you featured actually cones with the leather roll, strap change tool, NATO strap, and mesh bracelet. I've seen this at my local AD and have been eyeing the 37mm for a while.

I like the 42 mm very much. Rado is an unappreciated brand that deserves more recognition from the enthusiasts. I got two Rado watches a DiaStar from the 70’s that was my late father’s watch and a D-Star 200 diver and I like both of them very much. Nice video and keep the good work my friend!

Rado is the most loved luxury watch brand in India because unlike Rolex, it is a bit more affordable luxury especially for the middle class.
If you own a Rado in India, it shows you're doing well in life.
A Rado is what is usually gifted during weddings as well.
Rolex is also popular but is still limited to a very very small section of the society.
I appreciate you covering Rado with so much detail because the brand is mostly overlooked in the horology community.

I'd have to spring for a 42 mm, part of the reason I'm into watches is to get lost in the dial and the designs of watches. I love Casio watches and Dive style watches for their designs and features, it's enough for me to just to watch time move. So I always spring for a bigger watch, but I am in full support of smaller pieces as well.

@@TeddyBaldassarre In everyone’s defense, I think I speak for almost everyone when I say we first clapped eyes on the Rado Diastar, felt a bit queasy/uneasy, and never looked back. The Captain Cook really blindsided me. I’m surprised they didn’t release it sooner. Now, that said, I wish there was a middle -ground version, maybe 39-40mm because the 37 seems good, but have to double check the size, but the 45 just seems too “Invicta-ish” in terms of size. With the thin height, I think 40mm would be the sweet spot for this absolute gem. Just my opinion and it’s worth exactly what y’all paid for it 😏☺️

Tried it on today with the beads of rice bracelet, found it very “blingy” with all the high polish finishing. Also, no micro adjust has put me off a bit wondering if I’ll get the fit I want on my 6.25 inch wrist. It’s a shame they don’t do a rubber strap like with the Breitling superocean heritage

I've got the 42mm green version, and it's amazingly light on the leather strap.if you didn't know you would think this was quartz. If your looking for a chunky diver then this is not it. What this is , is a beautiful proportioned dive watch that's elegant on the wrist, but still has that wow factor. And the leather strap is so soft, it almost feels like suede, but isn't. It looks great on the beads of rice too, but could have benefited of having some micro adjusts in the clasp. I know they wanted to keep it slim as possible, which they achieved, the clasp Hardly feels like you've got one. I actually cringe when I think I've owned some huge thick clasps in the past that weight more than this entire package. Rado make some great watches , they are very durable too. A perfect watch that could easily be your only wearer, because it's so light and comfortable to wear. And even though the case is highly polished, I don't think this will scratch very easily. I don't know what rado do with their metalwork, but they are probably the best in the business for their use of materials.

I´d take the 42mm although I hate the 21mm lug width. What I love about this watch: the hour hand. Georgeous!

Never heard of Rado, do love the design of both of these watches though. Great review and filming.

My late dad gifted my mom with a Rado while he owned a Rolex before I was borned. That was in the 70s. Therefore, I know both brand since young.

It’s surely an underdog! Would love to see a review on their old champ disaster limited edition with sky blue dial !!

Fantastic video! As a budding watch enthusiast, I find the lug widths a bit weird though. Guess I'm more used to even numbers 😁 Personally, both designs would be more 'complete' if there was a special or differently shaped lumed marker at the 12 'o clock position.

Be eyeing the Capt Cook for a while. Definitely a competitor with the Diver 65, Longines/Heritage Skin, Zodiac Super Seawolf, Sinn , etc.. Great value there

Exactly the competitors I think of for this. I think it stacks up and at least deserves a glance in this range. Thanks for watching!

Beautiful b-roll Teddy, I prefer the gold dial, looks awesome in contrast with the bezel, hands and that little rotor at 12 o'clock. Well explained!

What size is your wrist? Is there a reason you went for the 37 instead of the 42? Thanks in advance.

@@thechameleon77 I went for the 37 to keep a more retro classic and if I ever have a daughter it would fit her wrist alright too. It fits me well too tho! Wrist is 7inch around or about 178mm (used soft flexible measuring tape)

Unless you are a hardcore diver that needs a dive watch it does not make as much sense to buy a 42mm watch.

I’m looking at getting my first luxury watch in the coming months. I was set on an omega Speedmaster however after going into a few retailers today I seen the captain cook and I like it a lot. Now to decide if I can justify the price difference

The first watch I ever purchased for myself was a Rado V10K around 2005 or so. I loved the thing but rarely, still do, but rarely wear it anymore. I don’t think I could ever sell it since it was my first “real” watch.

I tried on a blue Rado Captain Cook and Oris Aquis not too long ago and (only my opinion) I much preferred the Rado. I was extremely tempted but financially it wasn't that right time to purchase, and given the current state of economic affairs it was probably a good thing I didn't. Maybe one day. Very nice watch
