    Anyone in the UK/RHD take out the stereo and if you have the flat panel display there's a double din gap behind, route the cables from the glovebox to the stereo space and leave the box behind there.
    If I'd have known would've made this job 20 mins rather than 2 hours.
    No space behind glovebox in the RHD as fusebox in way as others have mentioned.
    Cable tie or tape the box in so it doesn't move about, also all the cables for the new box needs to go up towards the airbag and then over and down to the stereo space. don't try and run it through the tempting looking hole at the side as it'll stop the cd part from sliding back.
    I found jamming all the excess in the same space at the top was fine with a bit of messing about.

      @@LiquidityRL This wasn't my vehicle however, maybe I could help, what part are you getting stuck at? this video covers most of the process except in addition you need to remove the stereo and route the cables into the space behind.
      I would like to point out again, please check behind the stereo to ensure there's enough space before buying and/or fitting.
      I would say some plastic pry tools come in useful and some radio removal keys are necessary, there's plenty of videos on youtube for removing the stereo.

      @@Jobey_99 Routing the cables, i dismantled the screen and the carplay box would fit, however I cant seem to figure out how the wires gk from behind the MIB to behind the screen, especially the big box connector

    • @Jobey_99
      @Jobey_99 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LiquidityRL It may come down to different cable lengths on the car play adapters, but I was able to run most of the new cabling to behind the stereo, but I had to keep the quadlock style connector in the space above the MIB.
      From memory, there was just enough space for the connector in the dash and all cables that needed routing to the stereo had to go up into that space and then into a small hole towards the stereo side.
      I will say it was not an easy install and I could imagine that if any part of the car was in a different place or a hole was slightly smaller it would make it next to impossible, the tolerances were very close to everything fitting.

    Ohhh, that is engenious!
    I started trying to fit it there but with no success, ended up puting the box behind the screen, lots of space there and it is easy to rout the cables.

      @@_ny385 it’s amazing works seamlessly, watch the flying Dutchman’s other vid on how to get it to work with the steering wheel controls and improved audio quality. If you a have the same car me and him do, you’ll need to make your dip switch pattern as follows: 1down, 2/3/4up,5down,6/7/8 up.
      If you have a different car or this pattern just doesn’t work for you and you can see the CarPlay but when using it the touch screen doesn’t work or the interface is too minimised/large then mess with the dip switches till you find what works for you. I tried hiding the carplay unit in the same space where you were hiding it but because I have a Helix subwoofer in my trunk (Golf 7 Variant) the cables running from my glovebox unit to the subwoofer are blocking me from hiding it there. I have now hidden my carplay unit behind the infotainment screen. All I had to do was unscrew the glovebox for a bit, guide the cables towards the center console behind the screen and boom, I now have working carplay and the unit is hidden neat and clean.

    Hello, I need your help! I installed the Cartizan device already half a year ago, and everything was fine until this winter. Now, after the car has stood for a couple of days without movement when the engine is turned on, the screen doesn't turn on. It is completely turned off and does not react to anything, there is no sound either. In order for the screen to work, now I take out the multimedia unit from the glove compartment every time, turn off the main bus (the largest and thickest cable), and turn it on again. After such a reboot, everything works again, but you understand that every time I still need to lay cables, put everything in place, etc. Discover Pro MIB1 system, VW Golf 7 2013
