- Why do so many football teams have "United" in their name? Find out in this video!
I visited the home stadiums of six football clubs in Scotland...
- Lanark United
- Newmains United
- Thorniewood United
- Glasgow United
- Ayr United (SPFL Championship)
- Hurlford United
Some are in Glasgow, some Ayrhsire. I even managed to interview Ayr United's current manager Lee Bullen!

Did I miss out your favourite "United"????
Dundee United 🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡🖤
Manchester United 🔴
United Glasgow F.C
Amateur team but definitely a team that deserves United in the name 👌🏻
Cumbernauld United
Hope your well Sam.. when you doing a video about shotts bon accord ? If u havnt allready.. there my home town team allthough stay in Irvine now.
Cheers and all the best
Lee Bullen is one of the nicest and most genuine people in football. Come across his multiple times when he was assistant manger at Wednesday. He’s a Wednesday legend🦉
Youre way ahead on football content, this is just another great idea. My favourite united is the west ham. Cheers from Portugal
Obrigado!!
Ted Bundy supports ukraine
This is the heart of football! The non league teams and even a bigger one like Ayr, they make the game great. So awesome to see you connect with the clubs and pay attention to the non league clubs. When I eventually go to the UK I will have to visit some of these teams!
Get ur self to Somerset to watch the super ayr
Incredible to see the stadiums and operations of grassroots footy. Just complete passion from these players and people.
Love how the people always want to chat and promote the clubs. Fantastic to see. Love this channel
Your content ideas are second to none and the upbeat and enthusiasm you have in your videos is amazing.Ooozing class 👌
Brilliant content Sam….Somerset Park is probably my favourite ‘away’ ground in Scotland….it’s proper old-school….and creates a fantastic atmosphere when there’s a decent crowd.
11:39 the house at the entrance to the car park is the house where Jimmy Johnston lived in viewpark (bottom right of the block of 4). Would be a nice feature if you come back to Thorniwood to do a video.
Another thoroughly enjoyable one Sam. I hope you manage to get to Somerset for a game soon. My suggestion would be a bigger attended game on a Saturday, or a midweek under the floodlights! Keep the good content coming.
Another good video. Love seeing the smaller clubs but you must treasure the greeting you get like on this video at Ayr United 😀
What a lovely gesture to show you around the hub & meet the manager … brilliant to see 👍👍
Incredible mate! Keep it up! Underrated TH-camr!
The man, George who showed you around Ayrs stadium I know personally and he’s a really nice guy glad you saw lots of the stadium
The Chairman of Ayr United is CEO of a building company hence the new club shop and Cameron's bar replacing the previous club shop and ticket offices
One of the stadiums to visit would be Dartford, next time you’re down in London you should make a video as structurally it’s one of the most interesting for the level they are at. Great content, keep it up!
Hope to see you at an ayr game one day!
Update: can’t believe you got an interview with bully!! Also I’ve played at the Glasgow United stadium. Great vid mate.
You got the legend Lee bullen in your vid! Wednesday legend. Your vids really cheer me up mate. Reminds me when I used to drive around for a nosey being a history buff. You asked for ideas; whatabout a collaboration of teams that have escaped being disolved
What a great idea this was! Fantastic video! Excellent work mate could watch you for hours always cheer me up your videos Thankyou for that mate great content we appreciate you 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Loved this video, you’re getting closer and closer to my hometown lol one day
Briliant content as usual mate...support your channel!! 🍻
If someone in sheffield says ‘united are playing tomorrow’ they tend to go straight to Sheffield United
The first team to use 'United' is Sheffield United.
Peach of a video, the guy from newmains was quality and it was a great insight into the running of a small community club
Can't tell you how much I love your videos. I'm a big fan of your channel
Glad you like them still mate! Hope you're well!
Bg
Unbelievable content one of the best here
As St Johnstone fans used to sing, There’s only one United, and it’s a chocolate biscuit!!
Brilliant video Sam. Something different utds. Lanark 1 was brilliant
Cheers Kev!
Hey it's Joel from Australia: I always love watching your videos mate, there so interesting how you travel to different football clubs around Scotland and europe some I haven't seen before and I just find your content so great!!!! 😀
Yesss Joel do you have a favourite Scottish team mate ?
@@thebhoys6116 yesss I think I would say Aberdeen fc as my favourite but I like Celtic too so yeah
Great video Sam when your near that area go and visit Tileworks Park(The home of Royal Albert fc) in Stonehouse.
8:00 the pride of a man with a new pie machine 😊😊😊👍👍Got to love that.
Good idea and great video again! 😎 My name is almost impossible to pronounce for everybody outside Czech Republic. But u actually did it pretty good 👍
Great video. You should do a video of clubs who are located in one country and play (or have played) in another eg Berwick / Gretna. There are some Welsh teams playing in England, and maybe some English teams playing in Wales?
TNS aren’t Welsh 👍
You’ve got to do a North east Scotland tour
Plenty of great clubs from round here to go and watch games at
Fraserburgh currently top of the Highland league and Turriff United also another team which is deffo worth watching
Great video Sam At least you got to see the hub
Been Newmains untied game when ek played them in the South challenge cup.
The place is in the middle of nowhere.
Hope there get the place build up to be a nice ground to go to.
awesome, congratulations mate ....
This was a brilliant video! Question though, there are loads of uniteds, city’s, athletics, towns, even a few wanderers, but how many Villas can you go too?
Luv this vid
Gutted to have missed you at Shettleston! I work just down the road! Recent history of the club is a bit controversial with the name change!
Exactly Shug screwed up massively with the disgraceful decision to change our Shettleston juniors to Glasgow United who I will never follow. Shettleston juniors need our name back.
Great to see you found my favourite United. Thorniewood United. I lived just along the road until I was in my 20s. C'mon The Wood
Great video to see none leauge football shows how welcoming they are so much different to football at Premier league level
Another one that springs to mind is the junior side Lochee United!
I'm a big fan of you and u are a legend
This is who should be running the SFA. Love all the small club stuff. Really interesting.
Ayr United have a vlogger. A kid called Mattman AUFC. He does great things for our club week to week. If you come to our club for a game you should give him a shout!
In Portugal a lot of teams are called “Grupo Desportivo de *city* ” meaning “Sports Group of *city* “ and it’s kind of the equivalent of United cause it usually means the club was formed out of the union of other smaller existing clubs in the region or city!
People look over scottish football.. you dive into the roots of it
Thorniewood are from Viewpark, there is a Jimmy Johnstone statue there, he was born there and now a Billy McNeil statue in Bellshill just next door
If you want to continue this trend, ‘Rovers’ is fairly used a lot, from Blackburn to Albion & even Buckie Rovers in the North 👍
I am a football blogger in Singapore where there are some teams named "United" which I believe is due to the British influence as it was the British who introduced the game to the locals.
I blogged something about this phenomenon some times back on my blog
Go to the junior cup semi final next week...you need some Petershill content
Dundee United! How about visiting all the ‘Citys’ or ‘Athletics’ clubs?
I’m a rangers fan but when u mentioned the speedway track i knew which one I go to the speedway u should go to a speedway match u would really enjoy it
How about the Shields of the UK? Pollock Shields, Gala Shields and North Shields South Shields.
Thorniewood United have a great social club and do alot for the Viewpark and Uddingston community 👍 been to a few parties there🥴
Nice Video
ROVERS WHERE DOES THAT COME FROM GREAT INTRESTING VIDEO 🚜🚜🚜🚜👍
Rovers, Rangers and Wanderers meant the team didn't have a home so moved around to play
You planning on watching a few of the East of Scotland conference leagues games??
Are you going to the Burgh game tomorrow
We have 3 Uniteds in the MLS Minnesota United, Atlanta United and DC United
You go on a football trip to Germany 🇩🇪 of Italy 🇮🇹
Next: county only
You're going up a few hundred every day. Bring it home!
Cheers Ross!! Not far away now.
Hope you're good!
Doing good thanks. Sure we'll be groundhopping at the same team sometime soon
Next week you should do Bottlers. Like Arsenal Bottlers.
Favourite: Leeds
Legend btw
Yes Ashfield FC as is at Speedway next to Glasgow Perthshire FC
Only can be one. The mighty Rotherham United!
Fun fact Paul pogba once played at summerset
I play for Newmains it looks miles different now please go back and see it there’s three more teams
Not far away from Lanark Utd is Lemahagow, they have a pitch thats not very level, one corner is about 3ft higher than the rest of the pitch 🤣🤣 they play on the council pitches not far away at the minute.
Nice to see you at Somerset Sam hopefully you can get to a game soon 🖤🤍
You going to any of the games over the weekend in Scotland?
Yep, Bonnyrigg Rose's trophy day!
@@FootyAdventures good good, enjoy. I'm off to Rugby park tomorrow and then the Smisa on Saturday!
Lanark United have had a rabbit infestation hence the holes and bits of metal on the ground
Coming in with the facts! Haha cheers for that!
I know one of the players at Ayr 🇮🇪
You should go to a girvan fc game under the lights
My favourite is the team I support, the original United, Sheffield United.
What about visiting teams that start with St/Saint
Newly formed club Forfar United an merger of the town's former junior club Forfar Albion and amateur club Lowson United
