Wow, thanks so much for covering my modpack! Means the world to me. I am always quite nervous when someone I like / watch covers something I created but glad to see you liked it! I hope to continue support for the modpack and bring many great new changes and features to it
We had Better than Adventure, Nostalgic Tweaks, and now Better Beta?? We all just want to relive the past, each mod is like a different perspective on our memories...
It's prolly worth noting that these Beta-style mods, among many others, likely wouldn't exist if Mojang never revived people's interest in the game with the 1.13+ updates. MC was deemed "dead" by many before 1.13. TheMisterEpic made a vid on before. Here's to hoping future updates will maintain this interest.
Holy cow that mod adding unique ender eyes that require the player to explore every aspect of minecraft before the end is unlocked is so cool. It looks like the same feeling of exploring and finding the decorative armor trims, but with an amazing pay off. I cant play the regular end anymore now lol.
Modern Beta works just fine with Syntra. I am able to play it with Alex’s Mobs, Friends&Foes, and What Are You Voting For 2023. The only problem I encountered is that Giant Squids spawn too close to the surface with beta world gen.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I've been playing BTA with my brother for a few months now, and while we still love it there are a few modern Minecraft features that we were missing dearly.
Wow, just the other day I was thinking about the possibility of someone doing just this. Turning modern Minecraft into beta, rather than working from a beta version, to maintain the various features and quality of life functionalities that we do appreciate. For me, grass paths, animal breeding and villager mechanics makes the world come alive so much I could hardly play without them! Thanks for covering this Ryan! I haven't played anything golden age (besides the actual alpha and beta back in the day) but I'm super intrigued by it all and love your content
I'm so glad you brought this to light! I've been trying to make my own modpack around this concept but I kept getting conflicts. This is even better than anything I could've imagined. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
As someone who only started playing around 2018/2019, I've never really wanted to try beta Minecraft. But this looks so cool and fun that I actually want to try it out, that focus on adventure is really pulling me in. Kudos to the creator and I really like how you covered the modpack
This is so good. I had just recently started a b1.7.3 world, which i have been playing for the last week. I have now installed this and done my best to transfer the chunks over, with a few errors, but that just kinda adds to the charm of old minecraft. very happy that I can somewhat relive that old minecraft feel, with the added polish and addtions that new minecraft and this modpack offer. Thanks for us this modpack.
Im not sure if theres a mod already for this, but i would absolutely loovee a mod that oceans and pools of water have a very very low chance to spawn next to any desert. It feels like an ocean always spawns by a desert which ruins the desert feel and makes the wells super poinless
One thing i always wanted in this mods either being in beta or like this that makes it feel like beta was some sort of faster movement speed capabilities. Idc what it is, either make the default walk speed 25% faster or add an item that you can obtain. Make it the "elytra" off this version. Or give me paths that give you extra speed when walking on them. It's not something big but always has been a pet peev of mine
Ngl I really hope to see you do a livestream let’s play out of this modpack sometime in the near future as in my opinion it’s in some ways looks even more fun (and perhaps even better) than Better Than Adventure ever will be 😄
Horror mods in this kinda makes sense. Ppl used to speculate about creepy secret features back in the Alpha/Beta days. I like the Distant Friends one. It reminds me of that old feeling I used to have that I was being watched esp. with the old fog on, which's prolly what inspired the Herobrine creepypasta. Not sure about From the Fog. It's rather game changing. However, it's more immersive than the other Herobrine mods, and it might be fun or nostalgic to those who were into the creeypasta.
my sights of herobrine with this mod pack 1) when i exited my base and saw him standing Infront of my door 2) a night time i was about to sleep i saw Infront in my window 3)i was making a farm until i got jumpscared by him 4)i was tried find some pig until i saw him when i turn around 5)i saw him in front bed while i was sleeping

Thank you Ryan for finding me a another nostalgia-feel modpack for to play and feel emersed in. :D (P.S The shout out caught me off guard. XD)
WHAAAAT?! i think this HAS to be the second greatest mod I've ever SEEN! What's the greatest, you ask? Aether (for it's time, at least 'cause this is a banger) AMAZING coverage video!
Honestly bro? Discovering the existence of the Modern Beta Mod was enough for me to download, and its all I need for that ideal Minecraft experience. I get the old feelings of Minecraft back, while still being able to play with the newer features if I so choose.
This pack has a "No Mob Farms" mod, which I like. Dunno about you guys, but I'm never a fan of most mob farms. They diminish the difficulty of Survival Mode esp. in modern MC. Ig it makes sense that a survival mod pack would have this. I'm def adding it to my own.
I've been stuck between using BTW on 1.7.3 or building up a bunch of modern mods for a beta feel with modern amenities, but I think this modpack helped me make up my mind. Thanks!
@@PaladinRyan Hey Ryan you have yet to cover Nostalgic tweaks, I think you should do it, I think it could be great content if you discussed it at length :P
i played it for a few hours and didn't expect to see herobrine lol although it felt seemless and true to the original creepypasta (as in you never directly saw him, just at the corner of your eye, and also from sound cues)
is there any mod that allows you to remove modern features from new versions? i want to essentially use 1.20.1 as an engine base because of the flexibility it brings, and remove as much that the beta didnt have as possible, blocks, mobs, crafting etc. but the only thing i found was removing village spawn with a datapack, I essentially want to remove all of these things so that i have a clean slate for my own mod, adding my own stuff in to make it feel like modded 1.7.3, but without the engine headaches and java incompatibilities
You pretty much have to use a mix of mods. Item obliterator allows you to remove items entirely from the game. There’s a mod I can’t remember the name of that removes specific mobs that you specify
Great video. I only wish Mojang put this kind of effort and passion into the game. It's gone too corporate. It's all about the money lately: work the bare minimum and squeeze the max amount of money through micro transactions (Bedrock)
That’s the goal ;) I purposely didn’t make it a huge selling point as to catch people off guard. And from some reactions I’ve seen, it seems to have worked for the most part
Hello Ryan I'd like to see a review of the mod "The Right Branch of Development" for beta, It was made by Alex Chris who made the MC for noobs animations back in the day which were really funny at the time so it would be interesting to see what this mod holds as I haven't downloaded it before.
I don't know about Better Beta, but I did recently see a trailer for what looked like the Aether seemingly for newer version of Minecraft. Not sure if it's been released as of me typing this, but when it is you should check it out to see what current day Aether is like.
i seem to be too dumb to get it running. im using fabric, a mod like JEI works, but it doesn't load up the better beta modpack. am i missing sth? am i getting too old to install mods for mc?? plz help a brother out

I have made hundreds of changes and modifications to the game to merge everything together to make it all perfect. It would be awesome if you could review it! It is on my channel. I love Minecraft beta (:
Honestly, the end mod is what kills it for me. I like the idea of needing multiple different eyes, but I hate how the way you obtain them is entirely inconsistent.
I should've mentioned this and expanded on it, but it comes with the playlist mod - so you can add all those back in if you want! it just has them all turned off by default, or "out of the box" when you first load up.
The worst mod in this modpack is from the fog, so i'm glad i can disable it because the point of herobrine is that you didn't know if he existed or not (for people who were kids at the time like me), not knowing that herobrine is going to be there, and if you see something in the corner of your eye then "that's probably just the herobrine mod"
