@@annaseruma can you maybe tell me what the max buffer size is for this interface? Looking for a new interface with quality converters an the possibility for high buffer size for larger projects.
Been looking to upgrade my interface with reamping in mind. I had narrowed it down to the Evo 8 vs Focusrite 4i4 and you have convinced me that this is the one to get.
That's a tempting bit of kit for my vids, I've been trying to find a solution for recording amp shootouts whist still having a third channel for my voice. And yes, I was one of those guys who bought a Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 but have never recorded more than 2 channels at once due to it only having 2 mic pre's! 😊
I've been having issues with my current interface and been looking to upgrade, wanted something with at least 2 mic inputs 2 headphone out, an instrument input, and being able to put phantom power on specific channels. so I reckon i'm settling on this one as it seems to check all of the boxes. Call me paranoid but I would rather have something where I can have all of my cables permanently plugged in rather than wearing down inputs every time I want to switch from dynamic / condenser / guitar etc. Also monitoring headphones and some IEM's to cross reference mastering alongside the stand alone monitors. Less fuss if I can get one box to do it all and after looking around, this seems to be cheaper and better than a lot of the competition.
Hi. I was wondering, I have an audient evo 8, and i have it hooked up via PC with studio monitors connected in "1" with TRS cables in the back, and headphones connected to "1" in the front. I have a mic hooked up to "1" on the left back and a keyboard plugged in the back on the left in "2". I tried recording, and everything was recorded fine. However, while I'm playing the keyboard and even the mic, I can't hear anything back. I even tried unplugging my headphones to see if I can hear them through my studio monitors and nothing comes out. I can't figure this out as I've always used Focusrite. Audient Evo seems a bit harder to figure out. I even tried plugging my headphones into my studio monitors and still nothing comes out. But when I record, it plays back
Why does the Evo 4 and 8 have a DI impedance of 1meg and the Id 4 and 14 don’t? For the price should they? I’ll go for a Evo 4 for the DI I know the id4 offers better preamps for mics I guess.
I bought the echo layla in the late 90s at around £1200 and I'm guessing the A/D converters aren't a patch on this. What a time to enjoy music technology.

@@adamsteelproducer I asked the question before watching all of your video. Apologies! Do you know how the mic-pres and converters compare to the ID14?
@@mikenorman6697 Their mic pres are the same ones found in their consoles 🤯 and the audio converter chip is from AKM with 113dB of dynamic range, also 🤯.
@@LuisCasstle I actually spoke to Audient customer support yesterday. They told me the mic-pre's on the EVO 4 and EVO 8 are not the same ones installed on the ID range and are of a lower (but still good) quality. If you compare these products on the Audient website you can see there is less mic-pre gain available on the EVO units compared to the ID units. The A/D and D/A conversion on the EVO's are also not quite in the same league as in the ID series. Obviously I don't know how noticeable these differences would be in practice in any recordings produced using the EVO units compared to the ID units. However, at their price points the EVO units look incredible.
My only request to audient would be this exact unit but with a higher build quality even if that means a bit higher price. I want to use one of these for a mobile podcast (two hosts and two guests).
Higher build quality means a price jump, and you specified a higher price. Problem with hardware design is that to see a measurable increase in performance means a noticeable increase in power requirement, so a completely different circuit- then the cost goes up accordingly. Same with build quality, going from rubber to solid folded metal is a price bump, and so on. It’s not really possible in manufacturing to make something a “bit higher price”. I’m not just talking about Audient either, this is why there are clear price brackets. On a related note, I managed to drop my evo8 yesterday being clumsy, it took quite a hard fall and the volume knob flew off. When I found it, it went straight back on and there was no visible damage to anything- I’d say that was great build quality for that price point
I'm waiting for it to arrive! Probably it will come this week :) Excited!
Same here 😁 Upgrading from an M-Audio M-Track, it's way overdue.
Update! Got it today!! ^^
