Am so sorry to hear about the passing of your dog. Hopefully you find another nice one. Still, do not make a dog "your world" seek to make sure your soul is secure with God before you die, that is the most important thing in life. Just like the dog that passed away, all of us will at different times. The difference is, the dogs do not have to give an account to their creator for how they lived their lives, but we do. Again, sorry for your loss. Take care, GGK9

Been a fan of Jenecks lines for almost 30 years. Eckhart has bred consistent type and working ability for decades. With so much crap out there today; Pug faces, round eyes, high set ears, giraffe necks, "bigger is better" sloppy wet head and so on, Eckhart should give seminars on type and working ability. Many breeders in Texas for example think that because a dog is big it makes it great. Wrong!!

I am in my low 50s and I have had a dog or dog's my whole life. I just can't be without one as bad as it hurts to have one pass on. I care so much for my dogs that I literally am traumatized for some time after they go to that big kennel in the sky. I have had mostly German shepherds. A few other breeds that I fell in love with the pup at first sight and couldn't walk away without him/her tucked in my arms. Like Dinga my blue healer runt that dropped straight off the teat and ran to me as soon as I walked around the corner with my gf. Like she knew I was coming to get her and was happy to see me finally arrived to take her home. I was actually looking to get a male at the time for my gf replacing one she had just previously lost in a freak accident with a car loosing control and smashing through the fence killing him not long before me and her met one another. With Dinga it was absolutely impossible to justify doing anything other than snatching her straight up and saying sold after getting that type of response and greeting from her my gf in total agreement. She turned out being in my top 5 list of dog's that I have had the privilege of being loved by and I have had some really outstanding 4 legged best friends. I guess she followed the trend she started when we met because she would jump effortlessly into my arms from 8 feet away when I would get home when permitted. Man she could jump. One dog Jackson named after his father named Jack stood out above every dog i have every owned. He was half German Shepherd and half Rottweiler a birthday present from my brother that purchased him for me. He lived 18 years. Starting out when he was about 5 months old i had just moved into a fixer up house 2 days prior and hadn't gotten any fire detectors yet. Me and my brother staying over with me to help me work on it and get settle in to. Both of us had a couple of beers more than we needed celebrating buying my first and only home getting away from renting. In the middle of the night Jackson out of character starts licking my face and I tell him multiple times to quit and go lay down. He gets relentless with it and starts to get really vocal crying at me. I wake up thinking he must really have to go potty bad because he has never done this at night and always sleeps through with me til morning. On top of it he is dancing around acting strangely. I get up to go let him out and the space heater under the kitchen island bar had shorted out and by this time had flames coming out starting to go up the wall. I absolutely believe that he saved both of our lifes that night and definitely saved my house from burning down if I some how would have wakened before being overcome with the smoke. When a person falls asleep they keep all their senses but one. Sence of smell turns off when falling asleep and is a huge contributing factor for death in house fires. Jackson turned out to be so smart that he is the only dog that I have ever owned that I could give him his commands using nothing but my eye balls. If I made my eyes big and then looked down he would sit. If I did it a second time he would lay down. When looking side to side he would go where I was looking. If I squinted my eyes hard he would speak. If I blinked my left eye multiple times he would give me his right paw and and when multiple times with my right eye he would give me his left paw and last if I crossed my eyes a couple of times at him he would roll over. I miss him like I lost an appendage or maybe 2 of them. I am serious when I had to put him asleep i felt like I lost a part of myself and I was lost, broken hearted, and depressed. I lost a much bigger part of myself 2 days after I lost him. My brother that gave me him passed away 2 day after Jackson did. My brother was my very best friend. My rock. One thing we both knew is that no matter what time of night or day it only took a phone call and both would be their for each other. He was the best man I have ever known besides one. That was our dad that we both lost 5 years prior. I feel so blessed to have had them in my life but being such good men that close to me makes it 10 times harder to loose them. Sorry I didn't intend to ramble on this far. About 6 months ago my brothers gf sent me a message with a German Shepherd and Rottweiler that looked really close to Jackson in the pound. I immediately went and got him. He wasn't going to be around much longer before he would have been put down. A trouble child. He was around 2 years old and this poor dog must've been gotten thrown into the backyard and wasn't taught anything. Totally green when I got him. I still have work to do but I never really get done with training anyhow. People can't believe he is the same dog. He is doing so well and knows all of his commands real good. He is crazy about me. And they say that you cant teach old dog new tricks. Never believe that. They can still be taught everything. I named him Buddy and he is gentle around kids. Loves them. One heck of a watch dog and is why when he came home with me I immediately started teaching him to be called off. A dog like that is a big responsibility. Take that seriously for his sake and everyone else's. If a dog seems to be badly messed up in the head or above what you feel you can take care of, teach, control, and trust then don't take it on. Find a new dog and maybe if possible find someone else who is capable of taking it on. I was attacked and almost killed by an abused pit bull that someone didn't know how to handle and wasn't responsible enough to keep him from getting around other people out of control. Thank God it was me and not a child or someone less capable of defending themselves. It would have been over with in a matter of seconds with a defenseless kid.

We should understand, that the standard of dog is a basic foundation. In many instances in the past, the standard was known without anything on paper. There was a basic standard, but most importantly was the working ability in an agrarian society. Sport, show and the common country club scenario is only a small part of the canine game. It has become the standard. I don't give a bl.....p who the dogs parents is, or if it comes from Germany or South Africa. The individual dog should be assessed. Genetics only works in the right hands and perfect environment.

The Rottweiler is an awesome breed i grew up with them as a kid. I keep hearing Bree’s standard and who ever came up wit it has lost there mind as far as I’m concerned. Especially the one who let it get to what it is today. The writing says the tummy should not be tucked but in line with chest, something to that nature. That would be a fat dog shows ruin breeds. The look terrible standing there with there belly’s hanging down. A working dog should have a tucked tummy and last 2 o 3 ribs visible. I can count on one hand the dogs that might really have some good work in them. And I don’t mean a 20 or39 min demonstration to get an ipo title I mean hours all day work. Like they did back in the day. Most of these fat dogs def wouldn’t be driving any cattle but looking for a shade tree and bucket of water. I like the breed. But the standard is crap. My mom has 100 lb German male that is all muscle and no fat RIPPED would be the word to describe him. If I didn’t stay on her about overfeeding he would be over weight like half of these.

jamut bugbogtuio, Thank you for sharing your comment, but you are clearly uninformed. Raw feeding is the best diet for any K9 , that is their RAW MEAT IS THEIR NATURAL FOOD. It is human beings who changed that to make feeding a dog more convenient for themselves. The science is there to support the fact that raw diet is superior for the dog's digestive system, teeth, coat, bone density, proper development of joints, the list goes on and on. It is impossible for the natural diet of an animal to make that animal aggressive. No such thing as a "PROFESSIONAL DOG OWNER" there are owners with much experience with certain breeds then there are owners with very little or no experience.
Almost anyone can own any breed, with proper guidance and a good dog trainer. I hope that is clear. Thanks again for commenting. Take care, Good Guardian

Most Rottweilers I’ve seen with there tails intact look bette to me and they also move better and are more athletic. The tail is actually the spine when you dock the tail you’re messing with Mother Nature dogs are suppose to have a tail plain and simple the Rottweiler is no exception. Kinda like people breeding for the ugly pug face which is messing with the dogs natural look. I also hate the hoe they don’t like a tucked up tummy which makes no sense. A flat bottom line of the Chest and belly serves no purpose for any breed. A dog with a tucked tummy will be more athletic, agile and healthy and just as strong as the more robust dog. Most importantly it will have more stamina which is very important for this breed.

This is not the channel for fighting your cause and laying down the law. Some of the breeders and owners of rottweilers are on the video, you probably need to find them and protest there. Finally, It would be "messing with Mother Natur" if the rottweiler was a naturally found dog. But it is not, nice dog, but it is a rebuilt dog, a poor reconstruction of the original Roman dog. From golden retrievers, German shepard, begals, etc. When you make working dogs lap dogs or house pets you lose the standard temperament of the dog and eventually the structure of the breed. Ok, I’m going to take the other side of this argument.
Back in the day tails were docked due to working conditions, injury’s caused big issues back then.
Today’s most rotties are house pets, very few dogs are still used for working. There really is no reason outside from competition in Germany. The American akc allows both.
By doc. Tails aren’t you now removing a natural tail that they use for communication with other dogs, also don’t you take away the tails help as a Rutter to swim & there’s many more reasons. Now a days it’s really has come to owner preference but I’m starting to take the side that if there’s no medical reason to do it , then why ? Your altering the dogs natural looks & needs. Therefore altering the breed. Would you take a persons arm just because you don’t like the way it looks on him ? Then why do it to an animal that has no choice. … I love rotties, always have & have had a few of them tails always docked…but I’m starting to see it different. Rotties with tails are balanced beautiful looking dogs , think the tail balances their big head look with the rest of their full bodies. My small simple opinion, Thats all.
