I wonder if her colleagues are afraid to let her know about her wobble, maybe they can't distinguish between proper vibrato and a horrible wobble, it is sad to see how her voice becomes worse and worse every year.

From all the comments I expected this to be way worse. Listen to all the dramatic sopranos who sang this at the Met, even together with singers such as Domingo- they were much more wobbly and ingolati than Netrebko. Not a huge fan of Turandot in general, but Netrebko’s acting is pretty good.
Soprano tutto lirico. I have no idea what is she doing now and why. Intonation problems, wobble and even the timbre is ugly at this point even though it was really beautiful when she started her carrier. Shame..

At some point one can use less voice in order to have a greater impact when it is really needed. Sound doesn't need to be always big in order to be penetrating.

Other than not having the voice for the role, she is darkening it. And Turandot is by definition “the icy queen” hardly associated with a dark voice but rather a silvery voice à la Nilsson, Deutekom etc
She tries to make her sound dark, but in doing so she sounds like she is choked by a meat ball and wants to force it out. I feel like vomiting hearing her singing this role and in Tosca.
All the envious soprano comments here are impossible. Of course Anna is able to sing Turandot and not for a life time only interested in her most beautiful sounds. Important is the high C, which most other sopranos aren´t able to sing every evening in this role. She is.
Netrebko has a much warmer sound - she humanizes Turandot in a way that the dénouement of the opera is convincing. Nilsson was the ice princess for the duration of the opera.
*Does Netrebko not have any REAL friends who will tell her the truth?*

Dreadful. Netrebko doesn't have the dramatic soprano voice to sing roles like Turandot. She's basically just shouting and screeching like a cat. Turandot should be sung by a big voiced soprano. The best Turandot's were Nilsson, Dimitrova, Marton, and the recording by Sutherland, which is fantastic.
