Hi jason, looking forward to the game, I think the car chasing mechanic is a clever addition to your 2-card choice mechanic. Really ramps up the pressure! Also, I don't think you should have lost just yet, that first crossroads path you picked was longer than the top path. The raiders probably should have followed you on the same bottom path no? I guess it depends on the rules there.
Thank you, Jason; receiving mine tomorrow, right before camping with the kids. I'm really looking forward to bringing this one along. I have almost all your games, and they are gems in the solo community.
Also, ur victory card tracker has difficulty levels on it in terms of how much to spend to redraw cards -- my base game just says spend 2 -- in the gnome pack there is a double-sider with 2 higher difficulty levels.
Looks cool, definitely my style. Curious though if there was or is a possibility of adding more icons (resources) to the road cards? Like having a resource icon on some of the spaces to give the players more choice on which roads to take rather than just victory points. Seems like you run out of fuel pretty quickly and are mostly stuck where you are. Maybe adding the fuel icon on one of the spaces on at least 2 or 3 road cards might help a little? For me as I see it, VP isn't that important as much as just pure survival, but I do see the benefit of the points. My favorite feature of this game is the resolution deck. Has so much information on a single card, very cool.
I thought about adding more to the road, but I wanted to keep it simple. Maybe a future expansion will make use of those star icons in a new way. Fuel is is definitely the most important resource, but my playthrough may have made it look extra important. I typically fare a little better than I did in the video. lol
Hail and well met, good Sir! I believe this is my first post on any of your media after becoming a subscriber about a month ago. I discovered you looking through the game crafter because I was interested in game design. After watching many of your videos, which are quite inspiring and informative, I recently ordered a copy of tin helm which should be here any day now. Hopefully my fund situation will be better in the near future as I would love to acquire iron helm, since I am such a huge dungeon crawler fan myself. The most burning question I have at this T-junction is which art editing software do you personally implement before uploading to the game crafter? Apologies for this comment's longevity. And thank you so very much for sharing your creative endeavors with low level pcs like me.
I wish there was a rule where you automatically advance one space on the track if you survived a round. But only if you have fuel which you would need to spend anyways.
This is dumb question but end of round says you refill but spending a fuel but that doesn't make sense to me. You spend a fuel but aren't actually getting more or refilling? 😅
I thought the raiders are supposed to follow the path you took. You moved the raiders on a different path that was shorter. Also, you kept saying you would lose if a resolution card moved the raider onto ur space, but you could have spent victory points to redraw cards until you got a zero. It didn't play out that way but you made it seem like the game would be over if the resolution card had too much movement. I just learned the game today and played a few games -- maybe I'm wrong?
Perhaps. I definitely used them A LOT during during playtesting and so will players. This particular game quickly became a game about fuel. That is not always the case. Spending VPs is actually very helpful if you are simply trying to survive. Had I had to fight a raider at the end, I would certainly have had to use some to keep the raiders from advancing. That darned Farm card really did me in.
Should've stopped at McDonalds, instead of a farm. Faster food. Request for future promos would be a new big boss in Gates (just a card or so). Passed on the mat since it still says "exploration".......
This is looking really nice, Jason. :)
Can't wait to order during crowd sale!!! Great work buddy

You know a game is good when even a loss looks like a blast!

Looking forward to getting this
Wow. That's tough. I love it! By the way, thanks for the two promo cards for Tin Helm.
Really nice, can't wait to play.
Excellent, can't wait to play it 🙂!
Can't wait to paint those cars...black, white, and pink!
I would love to see the finished product!
Awesome!
Just purchased two copies. Looks awesome!
Take my money! This looks sweet!

Can you use the Cloak mod to avoid the Dustworm? 🪱
Gonna have DustRunner coffee mug available?
I really need to set aside a day to update my merch. Hopefully soon.

You never spent victory points to change one of the resolution cards. Were there any times there that that might have helped?

woah, this one looks TOUGH!
Day one of the crowd sale looks like a hit!
It appears that Tin Helm is also in the Crowd Sale - any chance you'll add Gate/Gates?
I would, but I can only have 3 items up on the sale, though folks will be able to add any game from my library at checkout. Thanks!
