Picked this up from my lgs on a recommendation and played 1 game so far and absolutely love it, its simple to pick up the card quality is amazing and the art is even more amazing for the solar sentinels deck
This/these game(s) are SO tight and brilliant. I should've got the Victorum one as well. I'll just have to wait til Adepticon. Job well done!
Love this game! 🎉
played about 6-8 games now.. haven't made it to a boss fight once. getting punished.
Its hard. Like what happens when you exhaust all dice? Do you just keep getting hammered.
Best advice: go hard on recovery when given the chance and then sprinkle in strategy to get more rerolls. Health doesn’t become AS important until later game, so you can wait on that for at least a couple rounds. This will help you form an engine that will help you slow down the exhausting dice. Pick enemies based on the rewards they give you, with a focus on the above and after a while you’ll get a good handle on the odds so you’re not severely overspending each round. It’s meant to be hard, but is definitely winnable once you figure out the system
@@corylane767 hey thanks Cory! i haven't got the game out for a few weeks. will have to try some of this advice.
I got an upgrade early that let me bring back an extra yellow and green, and started with the character that gives +2 stats, so started with 3 recovery. I would go 4 if I did it again haha :) but yeah if you can get your recovery up to 4+ , then have some encounters where 2 dice will do the trick, you can get some dice back. But I imagine there's a big buncha luck at play as far as order of drawing enemies and rolls that is gonna make getting the engine going a challenge. Good luck!! :)
Feels like Arcadia Quest or at least its combat mechanic has just been revived in a more fine-tuned way... :3
why did the dice stay on the boss after you received 2 damage? i thought the dice on undefeated monsters are exhausted? thanks!
The Alpha Beast boss has the text "Dice applied to the Alpha Beast are not removed in the Exhaust Dice step."
roger that
How do after effects work in a boss fight? Does that effect only apply when the conflict is defeated, or is it at the end of every round?
I'm mainly curious because I had Marrow locust show up in ny boss fight, and its after effect would remove it from the fight.
uncertain of what the rule should have been i killed it that round
After Effects trigger during the Resolve Phase of each round between Suffer Damage and Exhaust Dice.
If the Marrow Locust had been left undefeated it would have dealt 4 damage and then it's After Effect would have triggered, removing it from combat.
@@ChipTheoryGames ok cool! That's what I assumed would happen, but I didn't want to cheat myself. It was with the hive monarch, so I had considered letting it hit me and saving the dice. Good to know for next time :)
Too be clear i can take additional enemies from ANY stack right
It depends on which deck you're playing but in regards to Solar Sentinels that is true unless a stack has a Mandatory enemy present.
@@ChipTheoryGames Gotcha
It would seem to me a tutorial on how to play should cover setup, would have been appreciated
Each of the How to Play videos for each 20 Strong deck should cover setup. There's no specific setup for the base game rules as it changes per deck.
@@ChipTheoryGames thanks for the reply. It was covered well by totally tabled so I got it from there
How do you know how many dice to roll??🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
You're free to roll as many dice as you'd like! However any dice that you roll will become exhausted and you'll only be able to recover dice up to your recovery stat
@@ChipTheoryGames aaaahhh I see! The strategy just opened up for me✊🏾✊🏾🙏🏾💯
