One of the things I like best about you Beau is, if you're not finding anything significant you find other ways of entertaining your viewers. I found this video to be very entertaining and you have the perfect VIDEO voice to lull us along on your outing. Thanks Beau (o:
Detecting definitely isn't all about the finds as there is often so much other cool stuff to find out there. It always amazes me how many other channels focus on finds, finds, (often faked) finds and not the enjoyment of being outdoors. A poor day detecting will always be better than a good day at work. Nice one, man. GL&HH
I always enjoy your videos! No snake is poisonous because poisons are ingested (eaten or drank) Snakes can be venomous or nonvenomous. Venom is injected into a puncture wound made by their fangs. People and animals become envenomated when venom either enters the prey's body through hollow fangs or run down a groove on the outside of a fang.
Thank you Beau I have to say I found it a very nice comfortable enjoyable experience and you really have got the crazy detectorist (like me) talking to no one but a camera in the woods down pat . your voice and delivery of what you are talking about was great. Thanks again Paul
when i was a kid i played out in the woods the sites and sounds and smell of the woods was so nice also so peaceful i did alot of cave hunting and arrow head hunting also made alot of trails my friends and i damn i miss the 70;s people back then was so nice nothing like today 4-16-2018 i miss my friends and time we had ill never forget them days
I'm come and watch for the history, but stay for the bonus nature bits, really love it,here in the UK we don't have such a wide verity of animals so it's cool for me when I get to see the beaver dams and (well we do have animals of course but it's always nice to see other parts of the worlds woods and nature ) keep up the good work buddy
I have a small horse farm with a badger den on our land and a happy little family of 2 live in it,and I've seen them of a night and it's fantastic, they are nocturnal so seldom seen and most of the British public forget we even have them here, but before that I had only caught a glimpse 2 previous times near the coast once and in the countryside another time ,and that's all in a time frame of say 20 years (I'm 29 now) Nature is fantastic!!
Great video. I've been out hunting the past year or so on an old 1860's and early1870's Royal Engineers camp. Talked to an old timer who used to hunt there, and he told me in addition to the bullets I find, I should keep a look out for cannon balls too. Had no idea they had cannons at the site, but some deeper research indicates they had several types there. Very cool. It was a very well used artillery range with a variety of bullets in the ground, and in hunks of wood from the trees that stood back then, and I've finally found the location from where they were firing in the bramble which has taken over. Lots of bullets, casings, melted lead, buttons, and other goodies. Your videos have been a huge help in driving me to keep pushing forward on site despite its obstacles. Thanks Beau. Shane
You have given many people lots of enjoyment, me included. Thank you for taking the time to share your wealth of knowledge about so many aspects of the outdoors and hunting adventures.
Man i just love to watch your hunts Beau. Nice video. Glad Spring is almost upon us. Can't wait to put more videos out and to see all your water treasure hunts.
Thanks for the video - it was interesting. I never saw a deer skeleton or snake head before... I never knew about the Teaberiies but I remember I liked Teaberry gum
Enjoyed Your first Spring Video mate. Good Luck this year with your Hunts, I have to tell you that your Channel is my favorite. Can't wait til the water get warm enough for you to get some more goodies from the Rivers...you still inspire me to Do that. Eventually I'll get myself into the water here in the UK myself. Thanks for your great Videos!
Hey Beau, The fish-kill seems unusual, to me. Can you tell me if there was anything that made you suspect cold weather, and not suspect water quality. I feel as though there might have been a recent contamination of some sort. As for the Snakehead.....use caution.....I saw one in a movie once, and it was about the size of a '57 Chevy. And it could fly! Great video! Thank You.
Welcome to spring my friend and that means another season of exciting videos for me and my boys!!!!(thanks) You lucky dog finding tea berries!!! I used to eat teaberry ice cream when I was little. Great video thanks!!! Oh yeah, my buddy just found the first U.S. buckle for 2015, still has leather on it! He wasn't happy though, he clipped it with the shovel. Anyhow enjoy the season!
Another great video Beau. That was a cool camp site! Thanks for all the tips, I learn something new every time I watch your videos. Bummer that the guy did not find his deer, that would have been some tasty meat he missed out on.
I always enjoy watching your videos. Just recently purchased an AT Pro and love it. Still looking for my first big find. Thank you so much for all the history and ideas you share. Had to smile at the "Teaberry" find. Remember as a child going with grandma five decades ago in the woods in West Virginia looking for them.
One of the most interesting channels on TH-cam! Learning more watching your vids than I ever did at school. And all the stuff you find is amazing. Grizzly Adams with a metal detector! Awesome.
Fun adventure. Nice Garter snake. I did not know you all had the snakehead fish there. That hut site could be a good dig. A sifter is always nice. Hope you have a good safe season.
Very cool video, I really can learn a lot from videos like that. And it is really cool to walk on the same ground as our fellow ancestors walked. Now that is history. Thank you
Hi Beau. I've been working my way through your videos and have loved every one of them. What I can't understand is that there seems to be a bunch of people going from movie to movie purposely disliking them. No love in their lives or something, I don't know, it's a bit sad really. I just feel like apologizing for them when you're dong so much good work.
YOU'RE BACK!!!! Yyaayyyyyy!!!!!!!! Great to see you again in your natural habitat! Lol. I loved hearing about the bricks and everything else, so guess what, I CARE! Great video Mr BEAU! Ty gl hh!
nice to see you back hunting nice video cant wait for more spring is here well almost they want 4 inches of snow on Friday hope it will be the last for the year good luck hunting this week
My biologist husband says that's a member of the garter snake family, harmless; gee, if all snakes were poisonous (as I read below), he and his rommate would never have finished college; they, both biologists, used to keep this kind (and others - all harmless) in their room...they loved it and the snakes didn't seem to mind either, as long as they got fed once in a while...thanks for all the great posts!
We had two more inches of spring up here today Beau. Hopefully it's gonna be warmer from here on in. That's why I never hunted with a bow when I did hunt. I could never trust myself to make a single shot kill. I always worried that the deer would wander off wounded and suffer for days.
Wow, I'm surprised. Judging from your "Digging in the frozen ground video" that you uploaded a couple of weeks ago I thought you'd still have some snow. Glad to see you've gotten out already. I'm waiting to see what you think of the new Garret Carrot. Wouldn't you know I just bought a new replacement Garret pro-pointer at the end of summer. If only I had waited. Oh well. The new one should be really great for your water hunting. I'm looking forward to see what new and exciting experiences you'll be sharing with us this year. Cheers,
Common Garter Snake. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Garter_Snake Venomous or non-venomous is the correct term. Poisonous is used by many incorrectly and means it will kill you if you eat it. You made a another great video. The mature forest point is what most people sadly do not get.And like other poster's pointed out those arrows are costly. If your carful some broadheads will breakdown easily after they are unscrewed. Gotta love the beaver.
Im from Strasburg but I work in Winchester. Thats the first time Ive heard Winchester mentioned online lol. Ive followed your videos for a while and I actually bought an AT Pro because of you. But Im new to the hobby so any pointers you felt like giving would be great! Sorry if I responded more than once...my PC is acting up.
***** Thats too bad about the shell. Well if you are ever in Winchester feel free to stop by my parents shop Carpet Express Inc..my dad is a big fan of your videos as well and Im sure he'd like to meet you if hes in...Ill definitely try that and I always keep an eye out for any videos you've posted! Btw are there any books you could recommend on relic hunting or about civil war artifacts? Ive had a hard time finding any decent books about those subjects.
+Beau Ouimette some make really nice looking primitive knifes out of bone they find and use deer antler to make the handles. They use a belt sander to shape them and polish they to an awesome shine then use glue made of a pine pitch mixture to glue the handle on. Pretty neat.
Ahh the classic leaveing signs in the trees .. Nice 👍 hey I know where a 32 Ford or something with the classic hot rod bucket lights and rusting away in the woods in Anchorage .. I know there's gotta be earthquake stuff left behind when we had that big ass earthquakes ..
While I love all your videos this one was one of my favorites. I can't wait to show my students, it literally hit on so many concepts we cover! Can't wait until the next video!
***** If they JUST want to see treasures ONLY, there are other channels they can watch. Many of us like what you do Beau so don't change a thing. I'd rather have more videos pop into my mailbox than the treasure hunters that only show treasure. Keep it up....
Cool vid., thanks for the info on the bricks. I have found bricks around old home sites that looked like they were glazed on some sides .I thought this may have been done on purpose or something. Now I know thanks.
Dang Beau, the Camp looks like a great place to hunt! The surface finds may be few and far between but looks as though there is plenty of hut sites yet to be explored! The deer carcase simply rocks,a mighty disappointed bow hunter for sure! Thanks for sharing your dig, the detector interference was from Homeland Security looking for your spacecraft!
you know something beau i always sit down and eat my tea or dinner as you guys call it over there and i think i will see what beau has found now and you show me a bunch of dead stuff lol ...great video mate shame about that deer though :)
I'm amazed at the sound quality ,it sounds like your in a room. No wind sounds I would like to know how you did this..and I really would like to hear a river hunt sound quality. .......great job whatever you did....
That's what I like about yr videos, it's not just about one thing, you learn so much more, you really know your stuff and make your viewers feel as though they are there on your adventure! Pity the history isn't as good as the UK and other places. wonder what guys like you would do if there hadn't even been a civil war, jeez almost makes you feel glad it happened, shitty thing to say, but you know what I mean! Anyways keep up the cool videos, these videos could well be an insight into the past in the very near future too! GL+HH
I always enjoy your videos and learn so much. You are like an Archeologist that specializes in the Civil War. I have a couple of questions if you have time to answer them. 1. Does your wife also enjoy going on these excursions? 2. Do you ever "stir up" anything and hear canon fire or gunfire or see soldiers? Forgive me if you don't believe in ghosts!
"A BUTT'NNN!!!" It's even better than when he finds "A COPP'AH!" Gotta love Bill. :-) Hope his show is doing well...we don't get it up here in Canuck land.
Clark's Teaberry gum if I remember correctly. Remember Blackjack, Beau? And Cinnamint? The good old days.... Woods here are slop with leaves on top. Sod is ice 6-7 inches down, but surely not for long, I hope. Later, 57
awesome video beau thanks so much for sharing with us.. That snakehead was crazy I have never seen one myself looks just like a python body ewwww.. lol take care... Ryan
Snakeheads are supposidly real good to eat, and invasive. so 2 birds one stone catch as many as you can and eat them. I also know of places that still sells teaberry gum, ( Also horehound candy) I love that stuff!
nice video, I heard about u from Battlefield Detector Bob. just bought my first detector ace 250 from him. I found your videos very informative. thank you
Hi Beau I am glad you made this great video as mine would have stopped the second I thought I even saw a snake let alone touch the darn thing(doesn't matter if it is poisonous or not) I would have hi-tailed it out of there so fast I probably would have trampled over all the extra snakes you were being careful for. (can you tell I am not a fan of snakes, ewwww) lol we don't have poisonous ones where I live. Anyway I have a question, how many people do you think were in that camp and how long do you think they stayed? very interesting thanks for sharing ! Val
You mentioned learning a lot about history by studying bricks...have you seen any of the videos on Jamestown - they have been doing some awesome stuff there...more than 20+ years digging and they have a really interesting piece from a man that is an expert on old bricks...might check that out...really fun. (Jamestown Rediscovery is what you should look for.)
Fish kill may be the result of whatever is/was in the barrel at 5:41. Seems like the beavers weren't affected. Thought you might be filming one slapping his tail against the water. Sounds like a rifle shot--pretty startling if you don't expect it. Great video. Thanks!
How's it going, Beau. Thanks for answering my question about the creek. Would you know of any hobbyist around our area who refines computer plated gold scrap?
Hi Beau, Someone might've asked this before and you might've posted a video prior, but have you ever beachcombed? I know you do river hunts, but what about beaches? Maybe it's not your thing to comb populated places compared to forests, but walking around in NC made me wonder how much cool stuff one could find.
One of the things I like best about you Beau is, if you're not finding anything significant you find other ways of entertaining your viewers. I found this video to be very entertaining and you have the perfect VIDEO voice to lull us along on your outing. Thanks Beau (o:

Beaver lineage. Loved it. +1
You would make a great teacher. Our Scout Master Earl Van Kirk was a fellow like you.
Out already !! Lucky you.
I found your videos very informative. thank you
Hi Beau
I am glad you made this great video as mine would have stopped the second I thought I even saw a snake let alone touch the darn thing(doesn't matter if it is poisonous or not) I would have hi-tailed it out of there so fast I probably would have trampled over all the extra snakes you were being careful for. (can you tell I am not a fan of snakes, ewwww) lol we don't have poisonous ones where I live. Anyway I have a question, how many people do you think were in that camp and how long do you think they stayed? very interesting thanks for sharing ! Val
Hi Beau, Great video ! cheers,G;)
Beavers are so interesting! Have you ever seen one in the wild, or just their dams?
Oh wow
Hi Beau,
Someone might've asked this before and you might've posted a video prior, but have you ever beachcombed? I know you do river hunts, but what about beaches?
Maybe it's not your thing to comb populated places compared to forests, but walking around in NC made me wonder how much cool stuff one could find.
