A reminder to everyone who forgot: GM rates the LT5 at 755 horsepower in a WORST CASE scenario. That means it's hot as balls outside, its humid, the engine is heatsoaked, you're using dog water pump gas, and you're at altitude. 1000hp out of this combo with completely stock internals is completely achievable LOL.
Further to your point my uncle has a 2019 ZR1 and he has a smaller pulley and custom exhaust and cam and running on a race gas tune he is a little over 1000hp. What’s wild is even when the car was stock chevrolet detuned it by a lot. If you look at similar sized after market blowers. they all state 1000 and up hp it’s not a far fetched claim. I’m jealous of your build and I would change nothing on it from head to toe that’s a bad bitch
@@shad3128 yep. The LT platform isn't even close to optimized yet. Can you imagine a bored/stroked 454 LT5 with an even bigger topmount supercharger and integrated intercooler unit? Pure smoke for DAYS.

@@AutotopiaLA Dig the accent stripes, that bit of red really sets it off Always wondered what cutting into the front of the cowl hood could look like. Great opp for cold air even for a carb
First of all, Great car and great presentation of the build... I was hoping to see the car in the air to get a view of the exhaust work and undercarriage....
Shawn and crew 499k subs...I can smell 500k in the air. Really appreciate all the quality videos you guys post week after week after week. 500k accolades is so well deserved. Take a bow gentlemen as we press on to 1M !
Coming from someone who's not a huge fan of "restomods" I appreciate how tasteful this car was done with regards to the perfect stance and the fact that the body is still mostly factory looking and not overdone. And yes, depending on the level of the build, I think it's completely asinine to cut up a real car like a '63 Corvette if you're going to go wild and all you're really going to use is the VIN#.
Dont understand the whole restomod term. Its the way most built these cars...handle stop and perform better than they did. Guess its from the gen that has to "label" everything
This is the Camaro that GM should have produced. These cars are jewels but the best part of this is Shaun....he's the "Crown Jewel". Love to see the camera men/women getting some love.
Beautiful car with very nice simple but classy touches. The hood looks like a 69/70 Cutlass or a Firebird, the lower front grill reminds me of the 69/70's Challenger. I would just lower the stance 1 inch in the front and 2 in the rear. Love the dual exhaust and rear diffuser.
They’ve got the right sound out of that LT5. It sounds very close to an old school engine, which is a complement to whomever did the exhaust. That’s the sound you want in a vintage car. I also really like the exterior mods. They didn’t go too far. Just a few things that are nice without effecting the car’s identity. That would be my choice too.
God bless this man for involving his boys!! That's what keeps our beloved hobby alive!! Very cool car, and as usual, love ya Shawn. Thanks for the great videos!!
I've restored Mid-Year Corvettes and many other GM muscle cars since 1983. I'm a huge Chevy fan, but regardless the make, it's awesome to see how many of the cars featured on this show are manuals. Goes to show, real car guys know what they're doing.
This “LT5 69” Camaro is gorgeous! Even though I’m a 3rd-6th Gen Camaro Fan/Owner, this 69 reminds me of why I’ll always be a Camaro fan for life. Appreciate the work and content! 👍👌
Yeah y'all are doing great with the cinema photography and I personally prefer the walk-around and discussion over just jumping into it and driving but that's just me maybe.
I love the look of the bone white Camaro on Copper wheels. I am digging the cinematic camera effects, like the tilt/shift lens and the Toy Model Car effect. Nice transitions as well.
Gio, great ride my man. It's tasteful, has all the trimmings.....Good to hear you plan on letting your kids drive/inherit them. Keep that passion alive.
Great built! Firstly, The Exorcist and The Resurrection built by Hennessy. Secondly, The Apocalypse built by Gio 😮, what's Will be next? Armageddon 🤔, just an observation!!!

I’m in the same camp regarding his 63 Split Window Vette. For me, if it’s a rare spec, low miles, mint condition example that’s 100% original with no accidents causing replacement parts, leave it alone. If it’s not that unicorn situation, resto mod is not an issue at all. More fun, far safer, and just a better all around driving experience. You get to create the cool factor in every way. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Meh...most those cars are all stock restos they are nice but all look the same after while. Love seeing them modded with the large flares rowdy solid lifter engines etc.

I have a 2013 Mustang pushing 630hp at the crank with a 3.83 rear end. First gear is only useful in places where I want to go very slow. The engine will pull it around in first on idle and that’s just right for busy parking lots. Otherwise, with so much torque, I start in second just about all the time.
