Josh - watching your video was a very special, nostalgic and emotional time for me. Your cinematography and production are outstanding, ability to captivate and tell a story without dialogue - wonderful. Thank you so much mate. Having been born in Alice and grown up on settlements not far from there, I did have a lump in my throat as I rememberd the many times my mum and dad would take me and my sister to those beautiful locations. Now mum and dad are in their later years and will probably never return. Perhaps I'll do something of a pilgrimage and walk Larapinta as you have done and bring them there in spirit. In any case - big thanks for the huge effort you've put into this stunning piece. Cheers from Sydney - Dave

Mate, I love this video. Felt like I was right there with you (without the hard slog!). I am so inspired now I am making arrangements for in 2 years time.
Your commitment to your production is unparalleled. When I think of how many extra miles you walked to strategically position the camera and catch just the right angles to tell the story, I have the greatest respect. Also love the sound mixing. Great sound track, but just the right volume to allow the back ground noises like the crunching of gravel.
I have also watched your 3 Capes walk.
    Loving your channel.
    Greatest respect!

Fantastic video Josh!! Brought back memories of the Larapinta Trail which I completed in June 2021, just before your walk. It was much colder then. I liked it that you didn't give a running commentary and instead chose a gentle piano accompaniment. The walk was such a personal experience and a rare opportunity to enjoy some quiet reflection. Watching your video reminded me of how precious this time was.

While the rest of us are in lockdown you’re out there showing what is waiting for everyone when this is all over. You’re doing a service to everyone who is doing it tough right now.

Hi Josh. I finally caught up with your larapinta drone video. A beautiful meditation, made very special by the very limited human voice content, including your own (meditative) restraint. I met you on the trail l think on my 3rd or 4th traverse of the great Larapinta trail. Thanks for leaving a reminder of , primarily, the landscape but , secondly, those who walk through it, a humbling experience. Great vid Josh. Wife and I did the trail 4 years ago and what an experience that walk is. Done a few walks in Oz and NZ but I don’t know what it is about the Larapinta. That country just ingrains in you and we both will never forget it. I know it has become very popular and having the C19 around would have made it quieter I guess. We took 22 days which included 3 rest days and for the first 6 days didn’t see a soul. Did Sonder on sunrise after walking in the dark for the 8km and having the mountain to ourselves. Again congratulations on vid, luv the drone footage.

This year was shaping up to be by far one of the busiest had it not been for covid. Speaking to the food drop provider I went through and on a normal year they’d cater for ~700 people whereas this year they were expecting 1500+. Fortunately it was very quiet when I did it due to the lockdowns in vic and nsw but a bugger for those that couldn’t make it. 22 days would have been incredible. Really could have soaked it up with that time! Cheers Andrew 👍

Absolutely loved this video. Such great production values, especially for someone doing a solo walk. Drone footage was stunning, and your editing and music/sound was brilliant. Inspirational for those who want to try the walk, and amazing for everyone else who will never get there, as your video is the next best thing. Really liked the absence of a commentary, gave it a really nice feel, and allows the viewer to just immerse themselves in the experience. My only suggestion would be to have small size text in the corner indicating the location in some parts, just to keep my bearings. Looking forward to seeing your future videos. Thankyou.

If you’re thinking about doing the Larapinta I seriously can’t recommend it enough, it’s even better in person 😉 The only semi-regret I had was not camping along Razorback Ridge. Had I known there was camp spots along there prior to planning out my schedule I would have stayed there for sure as it would have easily made the top 3 for camp spots. And yep gotta bring a drone along for them epic selfies!! 😂

Josh, as I've said before, your cinematography is world class. I remember seeing in an earlier video you don't really want to do this professionally. However, if you ever want to get involved in film & TV, you should think about coming to North America.

Moreso working for clients, but I’m always open to the idea if the right opportunity presents itself. Got something in mind? 🤔

I know it would be hard to take a good picture out there, but your frame composition was amazing, you made what was good scenery, amazing. Thanks for the great video!

Researching the Larapinta Trail to sketch out an itinerary and this is the best , most helpful and most beautiful of all the vids I have watched . Absolutely incredible job Josh . Top shelf . World class . Congrats and thank you . All the best .

Cheers Greg! If I could add one thing - The only thing I would really change about my hike was if I camped along Razorback Ridge as opposed to Fringe Lily Creek. Counts Point, Brinkley Bluff, Hermits Hideaway and Hilltop View are all must camps in my opinion. Nothing better than waking up to the stunning backdrop of the West Mac’s. Enjoy your hike!
