      unfortunately yes what gets me the most is that it was a career criminal known to take drugs resist arrest and hold a gun to a pregnant women’s stomach in a robbery. The guy wasn’t a law abiding citizen well known to be violent and dangerous force is needed with a dangerous man like that it’s not the cops fault he died imo. How can you say I can’t breathe I can’t breathe if you can’t ? You’d be chocking no noise but gasps etc, I think he got wound up and his ticker went from to much pcp or whatever he was on and it’s been blown well out of proportion into a race war.

      @@crownedone200 please do not twist my words. That statement was towards how the original comment was aimed towards people celebrating a "white man" embracing a "black baby". The way to end racism is to stop talking about it. Stop talking about who is what color and charging words. And i agreed with that. Wholly and entirely. However I was still happy to see this blow up because I love children and I love the idea of people coming together to love and support each other. I love to see an aged man supporting a child and mother even in such simplistic ways because that is what we need in modern today. Love. I dont need to see color. I see people for being people, beautiful and unique. You can word it however you want to, but don't tell me I have to see color. I see people. Not race. Not color. Not gender. People.

    • @crownedone200
      @crownedone200 4 ปีที่แล้ว +40

      Rasp bri I can respect some of your views.But ending racism by not talking about it is the most dangerous thing I’ve ever heard. When injustices fueled by racism and hatred occur we cannot simply do nothing or choose not to talk about it. All I did was write two sentences, I don’t understand how you came up with the conclusion that I was “twisting” your words simply by saying that seeing color and embracing it is completely okay to do.

    • @gilla2092
      @gilla2092 4 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      @@crownedone200 there you go twisting my words again. Please tell me where I said to "ignore injustice and murder". I'm saying stop putting in media. This video does well by not even having to mention it. Just a stranger helping a mother out. There are times when it is important and times when it is just irrelevent, like this. I dont need to see the color of a white man and a black child to be able to equally praise a grandfather for helping a mother sign a paper. And thats just it. I see a man holding a sweet lil boy. And I'm allowed to. Just as you're allowed to see what you want to. But when you keep talking about this in every such little way, you fuel it. Create the divide even bigger because we label each other, charge words. I never made any comment to the minimum or maximum of your statement, but dont tell me i shouldn't have a view of my own that is merely seeing people for people. I dont have to label someone as a white man or a black man. I see a man. Just like a toddler does, seeing someone no less whether they have one mommy and no daddy, or two dads. We are all human beings. And the moment people stop praising a white man for doing something humane for someone who isn't, maybe we will get somewhere. I dont enjoy talking with someone who thinks I'm out to alienate people or justify horrific shit. I responded to you in whole because of attempting to clear my comment, not to belittle? I dont mind whether you say two sentences or ten, so why if someone else answers me im not able to clear myself up? Racism is a problem. That is why when the mass majority stop clapping for something based on racial indifference overcoming something that is really just a human thing to do, it will become less and less labeled. To me, you shouldn't need to be praised for the differences in color helping each other out. Thank you for having me type all this out to explain its human decency to see people for people and labeling each other less as white and black, Hispanic or asian and more as brother and sister of the same humanity.

    My beloved father-in-law used to do this, especially at the grocery store. He'd hold the baby and follow the mom so she could do her shopping. He was known as the baby whisperer. There were times we see him sitting on a bench with a random strangers baby; both of them asleep. Whenever someone was needed in the nursery at church; that's where we would find him. He actually cried when he got to hold his first granddaughter and as my hubby worked 80 hours a week to allow me to be a stay at home mom...he would come over and help out with baby duty so I could sleep. She explained she had moved from West Virginia and missed her family/ homesick 😪. The love, comfort & peace I witnessed on her face that day, I have carried with me! You mean the village as our education system, our community outreach programs, even the police get introduced to children with the D.A.R.E program-Firemen even came by our school and taught us to stop drop and roll before DMX taught us to stop drop and open up shop.

    When I was on the greyhound bus going from California to Maryland we were in Texas I think and a young mother with a brand new 2 week old baby and two toddlers got on the bus. She had her hands full with the three little one. She had her kids, a diaper bag and nothing else with her. I offered to help her with her toddlers but they did not know me and were scared to be around me so they went back to her to sit down. I saw her struggling trying to hold the newborn and comfort her toddlers at the same time so I offered to hold the newborn. She was so thankful. Through out that trip while she was on the bus with us I held her baby. He slept in my arms when we all slept (I am a mother and have taken care of my own babies so I knew how to keep him safe while holding him and sleeping). Her and I got to talking and she had told me that she was escaping from a abusive relationship and going to her mom. The only way to get away was to take the kids and a diaper bag so he wouldn't know that they were leaving. All the money she could hide from him went on the bus ticket. By this time the toddlers were warming up to me because they saw their mom and infant brothers interactions with me so when we would stop at a rest stop I would hand her the baby and take the toddlers into the convenience store and let them pick what ever they wanted to eat after I got permission from her of course. I expected them to grab chips and candy and soda (things other children on the bus were grabbing) Instead they politely asked for milk, juice , a apple, a orange, and some string cheese. Those toddlers were so polite and well mannered. When they got back on the bus they ran to their mommy with big smiles on their face. It just showed that their mother was teaching them and raising them right no matter the situation she had been in. When we got to her stop I helped her carry her infant across the street where her mother was waiting for her. Her mother thanked me so much but I told her like I tell others I only do what I hope someone would do for me if I ever needed it. That is one of the most important things to always remember. Do to others what you would hope would be done to you. Treat others the way you wish to be treated. There are a lot of people that do not understand that concept these days. I have had people help me with my kids and with other things in my life and if I am capable of helping someone else I will always. Helping someone else could be simple or complex things. Being there for someone to talk to be they strangers or family/friends. You never know what simple gesture might save someone.

      @Sanne Marie Thank you for giving me such a detailed, thoughtful response. It seems to me that we have done a lot for the people of color in this country. I was not raised to be a racist. Most of the time I don't notice that someone is a person of color, so it is hard to understand the mindset of people who prejudge someone due to their perceived race. I was at the tail end of the Baby Boomers, and our generation was (for the most part) raised in a race-neutral environment. There may be pockets of intense racism that still exist, no doubt. But you cannot convince me that the majority of people today in America are racist. The 'race card' is being pulled out waaaaaay too much in my opinion.

A woman took notice and offered to hold my baby so I could eat. She told me she was a mom of 3 but hardly saw her kids b/c her job required her to travel so much. It was a short bonding moment but 8 years later I still remember her act of kindness. Never underestimate the power of your actions towards other people, good and bad. ❤️

      N B one time I was flying and this Mother trying to handle 4 small kids, the youngest maybe a year. After the plane took off, Mom was struggling to help her kids pull out coloring books and supplies with a restless baby in her arms. I took an interest and asked Mom if I could hold her baby. She looked at me with suspicion at first, then must have realized where could I go since we were in the air. I felt such joy walking the baby up and down the aisle and talking and singing to him/her, gave the baby back when s/he needed a diaper change. Someone had done that for me one time, a flight to Japan. Passing on blessings is a way to have a marvelous day.

Even if what you said was true, which it isn’t but if it were there are aspects of human culture that have developed over time that are counterproductive and quite frankly ugly. Civilization is a human construct that is constantly being improved upon. A part of that journey to a better world is identifying and removing people from society who think things like segregation are okay. Go live on an island somewhere.

      I don't mean to come off as an asshole here but what exactly is that supposed to mean? How was this man kind to me or you by being kind to this woman and her child? I'll admit he is a nice person to help her out, obviously, but in what way is that a kindness to anyone else? I guess you could argue because the warm feeling people get by seeing such things but if that's the case it kind of ruins to whole 'selfless' part of the act when others have to see it and acknowledge the act for it to effect us/them. Again... not being an ass here - just hate empty platitudes.
