As you probably know, pasture rotation is one of the most important things to practice in order to ensure parasite levels remain low. Copper is a very important mineral for the goats in this regard. Since you're in Tennessee, you might be able to secure the Shegogg mineral mix from the Hillsboro company in Alabama. It is specifically designed for goats in the southeastern US, as it has a very high copper content to compensate for the soil limitations. Make it available free choice, and the goats will eat as much as they need.
Beyond that, give them copper oxide wire particle (COWP) treatment once or twice per year and you shouldn't have to deal with parasite overloads. Learn how to check the lower eyelid inner membrane for pinkness (anemia indicator), and you should be just fine.
Goats are absolutely adorable, and you will surely love the Nubians when they join your farm. It's just heartbreaking to see these animals take a downhill turn if they end up with a barberpole worm overload. It's easy for it to happen, but it's also easy to keep it from happening.
Thank you for the content. Keep having fun, and be sure to cherish each other forever.

Hi Matt and Cass. I have 7 Nigerian goat (puppies). They spend a lot of time following me around my homestead. I was watching Sow the Land channel and they had three sheep get spooked and they got tangled in their electric fence and got shocked to death. I use livestock panels which are 4' high x 16' long and they work great. I do have coyote problem which can jump or dig under so have two livestock guardian dogs, one can not take on two plus coyotes. Also I built a solid little barn which protects them from wind, rain and snow, which they hate. I can lock them in from predators and storms. Dont forget baking soda for when they get upset stomachs, they will eat it to keep their rumen working. Self serve. You know they can have four babies lol. Also their milk is rich enough to make butter. Hooray Have fun with your new babies, I still do after years with mine. Looking forward to watching you add to your homestead. Barb

Hi Matt and Cass, you should use that to get a garden spot for next year. Spread it out in a area that has pretty good dirt and let it sit for a week or two and then till it in the soil. Then start over again until you've covered the whole area again and let it sit on top. And just keep repeating that for awhile. And just keep tilling it up turning the soil. I will guarantee that your garden will have more produce than you'll know what to do with. I use horse manuar and when I plant everything comes up really quick and I usually pick out of the garden until October sometimes until November depending on the weather.

Love the goats, when I lived in Oregon, had pygmys. And a llama to guard them. You mentioned nubians. I had 2 males. Who acted just like big dogs, when I drove up would jump in truck or when going in house. They came right in. Only thing I had high wire fence and they would jump it. Then go over to neighbors and eat their roses. Neighbor threatened to shoot them. SO sadly rehomed, wasn't worth it. We had thistle with bad thorns and the goats loved them. Miss those days. Best wishes to you both!!!

Maybe some solar panels could be placed on the goat shelter and rain collection.
The rooster is always stealing the show.
The new ground maintenance crew are cute. Just grid off some other areas to keep things cleared from time to time. They mow, make milk for your coffee & and cheese, making. Maybe some small bells on them in case they stray when you're not looking.

Hey Guys moved from Cleveland Ohio to South Central Indiana , Love your life style . Bought a rural house and property . My biggest surprise was Chiggers never had those back home or ever encountered them . I've learned a lot since I first moved here 3yrs ago .In my 70s now so I'm really limited to what I can do . Really enjoy your homestead lifestyle .Stay positive and good luck .

Your shelter needs to be secured. Goats can get ammonia very easy if they get wet. Goats don't like 🌧️🌧️🌧️. There bedding area needs be KEPT DRY. Its also good to give a vitamin,

If you let your goats form a bigger herd, you can use them for kudzu removal and get paid for it too. Free food and get paid, what could be better.

Please make sure there is not Holly where the goats can get to it and eat it. It's very poisonous.
Yes they need an enclosed shelter to keep safe from storms and predators. Usually you breed so you get spring babies ,not winter . Just fyi.
Cattle panels and t posts work great for fencing , that is what we use.
    They are so cute, congratulations.

Hi I’m your video regarding its term removable home. In most buildings regulations there’s a term used called a variance that grants you rights in building. Can you place a foundation under it and make it not moveable and on to it say a bathroom. You’re going to put in a septic system for the new home. I am very interested because I hope to do this for my self very soon the small house has gotten a bad rep and in this new world that a house cost in the mid hundreds thousands of dollars how can regular people afford to live. On some cases an inspection can be done by cutting into the house to show how it was built. The people who built your building have better standards than most homes builders. So start from the beginning foundation plans buildings plans show them to every government person and send it to the governor for the cost of some stamps and paper copying it’s worth not giving up also look into where your builders are selling them and the laws in that location. JoP

You need to be very careful of parasites on Goats. Those hollowed in sides say parasites! Also you can pinch the gums and see if they are getting anemic.
