    Better not use chemicals as they destroy the waterproofing of the Timberlands. Just plain water and after that a brush to rub the nubuck a bit. Then a little coating with nikwax waterproofing for nubuck. Timberlands are best with a used look.

    you need to spray a bit of mink oil - that'll bring some of the color back and make it soft

    • @siralbertgrizzy3797
      @siralbertgrizzy3797  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I've said many time before just pay attention to the lacing section. The "reveal" looks washed out due to filming with flash on at night. Color and softness all remained. Was my first video.

  • @JoeBob79569
    @JoeBob79569 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Nice one. Just got my first pair, used, on ebay for €30. Similar condition to these "before" pics. I think I'll do a similar clean soon but it looks like I'll have to buy a lot of cleaning products! Are all these steps necessary? Would be nice if you talked a bit more through the video explaining how critical each step is in the cleaning process, and why it's necessary, how often you do it, what not to do etc, but still, great video.. most of it is self explanatory I suppose. Thanks!

    • @siralbertgrizzy3797
      @siralbertgrizzy3797  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe O Sullivan all of it is pretty necessary to get a quality restoration. But the end result is worth it. I mean these were stained, ripped and all. But came out looking great imo. What you spend in product is really not much, considering. Not often would you need to do this, just take care of em with water and a brush after this and they'll stay looking good for a long time.

    Awesome effort mate.... Quick question regarding of the supplies that you provide for your Timb... Some country they dont have those same supplies but we got the same product from a different brand or company of that product. Does it hath to be the same brand or we can use any?

    • @siralbertgrizzy3797
      @siralbertgrizzy3797  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would guess that similar cleaning products would work. These were just stained and never cleaned for years, definitely not typical if you do regular cleaning.

    • @mikestewartbass

      These are Timberland Basic boots. The single unit sole gives that away. The sole you are thinking of is the sole fitted to the Timberland Premium boot that has 2 parts to the sole: an outer (lower) sole and a midsole. The outer sole on the Premium boot is more of the classic look.
      Both are real Timberlands, they're just at different price points.

      When you live in the country you have what is called a well, after use the water enters a septic tank and goes into a leach field. Solids stay in the tank, the liquid seeps back into the ground. So no, don't fuck water.
