Hey! I’m originally from Wayne Township, Passaic County, New Jersey! Lived there for 3½ decades! Graduated from William Paterson University! 😃👍
FYI - There are two train stations in Wayne Township. Route 23 (south) Transit Center and Mountain View, bordering Lincoln Park in Morris County. 😃👍

The Montclair-Boonton line west of Montclair State University suffers from anemic scheduling and, as such, poor ridership. Your video captures that reality as you seem to be the only passengers on board past MSU, yet the train still has several more stops until it terminates in Denville.
Of the thousands of commuters that live in or adjacent to Wayne, most take the bus. In fact, there are express buses from Wayne Transit Center that can get you to New York in as little as 40 minutes. Contrast that with the train, which makes local stops AND requires a transfer, and it almost makes the rail to midtown obsolete.
However, for those who use the line to commute to Montclair, Newark, Jersey City, Hoboken, and the financial district of Manhattan near WTC, the train is still the better alternative, as no transfers are needed and there are no direct buses. But still, the poor schedule plus the absence of weekend service makes this one of NJTs weakest lines in the entire system.

Your non-scripted but straightforward analysis of the service was most entertaining. While the city of Milwaukee has A Streetcar line plus a short stub that just opened I have the thrill of working for a local bus system for 37 years. We had service to outline parking lots call Freeway Flyers but they got dropped during covid and I doubt if they will ever come back. Many of the vehicles at the park and rides are shared rides and carpools and they look like a campground because of all the homeless that have moved in
We did have an actual transit station downtown that got torn down after 10 years because they built a new apartment building on top of it. Then we had one at 76th and Mill Road built with federal funds that included 6 feeder lines and the express bus from downtown do a shopping center that would go dormant in 6 years. Later even a bus to the next County to serve workers. Today every one of those lines is abandoned the building torn down and now the site is an O'Reilly Auto Parts store. Oh yes they finally started to demolish Northridge mall after 20 years of being vacant. Thanks for the tour I subscribed for more

They use to have saturday service and I used it a number of times and the train was always busy. The MT View station does not charge a parking fee and more use that station. When I worked in NYC I took the bus from Riverdale for it was faster. If there was snow I drove to Lincoln Park to take the train that ran butter than the bus. The need to improve this service and bring back Sat service
