My mother Patricia Snover ran the Hackettstown mall in 1994. Took over after my father, Bud Snover passed in 1986. I grew up in that mall...miss them both! Great memories there!

This almost makes me tear up. Nostalgia at its finest, wish the mall was still here. We have enough hardware stores.

Unfortunately, malls are dying as online shopping continues to grow. Outdoor shopping centers are more prevelant as well. I spent a lot of time here as a kid. Used to go to the K-mart for back to school shopping then the pizzeria. The guy in the video owns Louie's Pizza in Great Meadows if you're ever feeling nostalgic.

I went to this mall a lot in the 80's and 90's. I worked at the K-Mart in high school. It was a small mall but had some good stores. The pizza place was very good !!

The big girl is 24 and lives in California and the little girl is 20 and in college in South Carolina! I used to frequent here as a young child with my grandmother. I'll never forget as long as I live she took me and my sister to the mall not long after they announced it was closing. We had pizza at what must have been the only remaining store (first time I ever had a white broccoli slice) besides the Marshall's which was later moved out of that location in the 2010s. Now it only exists in our memories.
Oh my god 1:28 that's it!

I’m about to turn 25 years old in a few weeks, I vaguely remember the Hackettstown mall as a little toddler as well as the Ledgewood mall which lasted a bit longer but are both long gone now. I could be wrong but the pizza place I’m pretty sure was Mama’s Pizza, which moved over and took over the entire strip mall across the street from where the mall stood. The Marshalls inside the mall was ran by my dad’s uncle Jake.

    Why did it fail?
Wish there were more pictures of it.

I miss when the Hackettstown mall first opened around 1973-ish .... It had a killer petshop and Grants was in the big spot before K-Mart came

Looking in that video I was looking in the book store, seeing the same old carpet I remembered. The pizzeria guy looked familiar. I joined the navy a year before this video was filmed.

Damn, I grew up In nearby Long Valley and remember this mall, it was small but had a "big" feel to it, I totally forgot about that Pizza place, it was all but dead in 2001, remember going to Sam Goody record store, crazy nostalgia.

Very nice. I'm from Succasunna, and don't remember there being a mall in Hackettstown. We always went to Rockaway Townsquare.

@SonnyJamesJefferson no, that was a second mall that was supposed to go in. I forget what. what is now Lowes was the old Mall. Marshalls is all that remains. Also, where Wendys is was the old Bank of America

    We had a mall?

    • @RB01.10
      @RB01.10 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Believe it or not, yes.
It was where Lowe’s is now.
The mall opened around 1973-ish but in its final years suffered from a decline in its businesses and eventually fully closed around 2002-03.

Hackettstown mall was the lamest mall ever...it made me nostalgia, but still..it was pretty pathetic, and I don't miss it much.
    Also, creepy Santa...
