When my kids were about this age we went out to dinner. At a table next to us the elderly gentlemen greatly looked the image of Santa. The kids peeked at him throughout the meal. Then asked if they could say hi. That elderly gentleman's face lit up when they went over to his table & he played the role so well we knew he'd done it countless times. My kids are in their late 30s now & have never forgotten that day.

I'm a 53 year old man and I have to say that, that actually put a lump in my throat. Even had a tear run down my cheek. That was extremely wonderful and special 👍👍👍
For years my husband has been mistaken for Santa. He's really a big ol biker but he makes an excellent Santa for little kids who think they just had the experience of a lifetime running into Santa while out shopping. Big white beard, white hair, and a big round belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly. After Halloween until a little after Christmas every year you would think he is a major celebrity. He has to give hugs, listen to what is on their Christmas lists, and has pictures taken with random kids by their mothers every time he goes out. He has even had parents buy his dinner while dining out because he takes the time everytime to talk to every child who thinks they are talking to the real Santa . He says it's fun to give the kids a moment of magic. Kids get so few of those moments these days he is so happy to be one that can give them a memory most remember for their whole lives.

Ah the world isn't that bad. People say this all the time. These kind moments do happen often. We just tend to focus more on the negative. If you look for the positive, it's always there. But if you keep your head down and only pop up for the news, it will always feel like a dark world.
Same thing happened here in Chorley. My mate was walking through town with his daughter and they spotted a fella who looks like Santa in a pub. Instead of dismissing her he played the part and pretended to be Santa having a break from the north pole and come to Chorley for a few beers. She just happened to have her Christmas list with her so he sat her down and read it. It was so sweet and my mate got it on video. People like him and this gentleman are awesome.

People don't realize what a delight it is for seniors to be able to talk to a little child. Many seniors don't have grandchildren, or they have become teenagers and have no time for them. It brings back memories of the days they were raising their own kids, but now that they have more time, the kids are out of their lives.

As a grandparent you get to say yes to everything (practically). And sometimes you see personality qualities from previous generation ( your ancestors that you loved) and it gives you something good to think about. It's good years and good times even if they do grow up and grow away. And sometimes they circle back

For years my husband has been mistaken for Santa. He's really a big ol biker but he makes an excellent Santa for little kids who think they just had the experience of a lifetime running into Santa while out shopping. Big white beard, white hair, and a big round belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly. After Halloween until a little after Christmas every year you would think he is a major celebrity. He has to give hugs, listen to what is on their Christmas lists, and has pictures taken with random kids by their mothers every time he goes out. He has even had parents buy his dinner while dining out because he takes the time everytime to talk to every child who thinks they are talking to the real Santa . He says it's fun to give the kids a moment of magic. Kids get so few of those moments these days he is so happy to be one that can give them a memory most remember for their whole lives.
I think you are blessed as well with such a wonderful husband that takes time to share memories with kids! That’s so beautiful.

Instead of dismissing her he played the part and pretended to be Santa having a break from the north pole and come to Chorley for a few beers. I remember when I was a little girl, I saw an old man walking around in December and, in my eyes, he looked very much like Santa. So I said: Santa?
And that man did 🤫 and then smiled at me. I never forgot it, and I am sure this little girl won't either! Such a magical time.

We ask our babies to believe I. Santa, and it's so much fun to see their eyes light up but so sad the day they find out Santa doesn't nor do flying reindeer exist. Faith should not be messed in order to save their child's soul in the spirit of Christ a parent's has to convince a believing child of both one exsists, and the other does not. How does that work to establish unshakeable faith and trust? Please don't hate me I belong to Lord Jrsus.
People don't realize what a delight it is for seniors to be able to talk to a little child. Many seniors don't have grandchildren, or they have become teenagers and have no time for them. It brings back memories of the days they were raising their own kids, but now that they have more time, the kids are out of their lives.

@@Onigirli true, but also I think they want grandchildren as their final part of being a parent. So the family stays strong, doesn't disappear, and their kid/s have some company and help when they are gone.
@@Zauchi my additional thought--when you're raising children you are the one always putting on the brakes to all their kiddy nuttiness. As a grandparent you get to say yes to everything (practically). And sometimes you see personality qualities from previous generation ( your ancestors that you loved) and it gives you something good to think about. It's good years and good times even if they do grow up and grow away. And sometimes they circle back

He does have Santa demeanor and is a wonderful older man to take time to speak to this adorable child and even got down on his knees to become someone she believed he was. She will always tell this story when she needs to remember, there is still kindness and good in this world

This right here is how traditions get passed down. The fact that these two adults had an unspoken understanding of how to proceed is why after multiple generations we still get to watch the magic of Christmas with our own. Good job, sir.

@@historyhunter5215 I had the same thought the other day when I was out. I had a wonderful conversation with an eighteen-month-old called Miles. He started talking to me and I joyfully responded. If I had been a man I would have never been allowed. I know that a Granddaddy can love a baby just as much as Grandma does. I feel bad for the guys on this issue.
