Thank you for reminding me the old story... We are connected in our lives, mostly superficially and our property and our thinks are more important than our fellow human beings!!! We forget to appreciate and love, we are concerned with collecting more and more.. Brothers are not the people that are connected, because there are born in the same family. I loved the story but as a friend stated it is over simplified. We need fences (boundaries) also to protect us at times. We need to recognize both fences and bridges to create a common ground for peace and harmony.
Unfortunately you are correct Jeannine…..but wouldn’t it be magical if one day there was no need for fences, locks, or walls. Maybe one day there will be.
Fences, wether metaphorical or not, are just as necessary to peace and harmony as briges are. Just like bridges built hastily without proper reflexion can open way to unrest and troubles. A wise person know how to build the bridge just as well as the fence, and to use both accordingly.

The modern industrial term "bulldozer" is an odd one very modern comparing it to the rudimentary tools used by the wise carpenter...I would also prefer the term "tools" to "machinery"😊 And the name John just pops up from nowhere I think names should have been mentioned at the beginning of the tale 😊 The tale is Great. Be humble and say sorry even if he was the one who wronged you. Tell him how much it hurts to not have him in your life and how you desire to have him back. Pride is bad

More than making peace with him, its more about making peace with myself, cos ive turned into an unrecognizable monster, thanks to all that's happened. i used to be so peace loving/meditating etc........... and now i'm frustrated/angry etc. all the time.
