@@lpm1 My only guess would be 'Near Instantaneous Companded Audio Multiplex' (NICAM) not available or selected on source? Early VCR's only had low data-rate mono single-track audio recording. Later machines had mono and NICAM, a high data-rate two-track audio recording. These machines were marketed as 'four head machines.'
Appears to be analogue video PAL 240 line capture.

Perhaps I can help? The source may be equal to a two-head mono machine as oppose to a NICAM four-head machine?
