Cmd+F is incredibly useful, but toggling division changes with Cmd+1, Cmd+2, and especially toggling triplets with Cmd+3 are going to get used all the time. Also, W for zooming to fit horizontally is awesome, as long as the Computer MIDI Keyboard option isn't on.
And yes, these high density, no fillers straight to the essence lessons are very welcomed, bits of knowledge are scattered everywhere on TH-cam, but YOUR experience shows in YOUR flow, that is most def niche here on TH-cam, so yes please more of YOUR flowness, cheers from Germany!
amazing, I wish there were more videos like this. Purely informative and condensed useful information without waste of time on distracting things or talks. This is brilliant, thank
Hey I appreciate you I paid a lot of money to learn what you just told me I don't know how to thank you thank you for not being condescending in your presentation
Awsome video! I loved to hear about the automation shortcuts I feel like it really demonstrates what they had in mind for design choices when it comes to automation, making as customizable and malleable as possible!
Thanks so much for this!! I've recently switched to Live 10, and this is a game changer. Thanks for being thorough, and not just rambling to be heard!!
I probably will go back to this every week. All of these are useful but I think I like Z/X and H/W shortcuts the most. As well as SHIFT or CTRL + mousewheel for efficient arrangement view navigation.
That was an awesome video fast paced and quiet informative. I came to this video searching for a keyboard shortcut to highlight a track so that I can rename it without touching the mouse. Can someone help me with it... Thank you.
really helpful ... liked and subscribed..... please make a video tutorial soon on how to organize plugins in Ableton 10 and categorize them such as Waves plugins long lists.... it's too hard to remember all of them.
This was tremendous. Exactly what I needed. A few of the selection shortcuts don't seem to work in 11 though. The three shortcuts I was hoping to learn, coming from Logic: 1) Go back to beginning of song/play selected region (e.g. equivalent to logic region, not a selected range) 2) Arrow keys move the cursor around in arrangement, shift-arrow selects, but how to deselect so you can go back go moving around? If I move my selection over a clip it slices it up! 3) How to move from note to note in midi-not move the notes, but advance to next note without the mouse. Generally, Ableton seems more mouse-oriented than I was hoping, but maybe I just need to customize more!
awesome! but if u want to draw the automation turn off the grid that give u freedom to do more on the field and also u could lock the automation just by button right in the right corner
Awesome video! But is there a option to just hear the selectet clip in the arrangement? Like it studio one you have a little speaker tool to play just the clip you click on.
you missed one awesome shortcut.. to hide the browser and inputs and detail pannel at bottom or midi note editor you don't have to press Cmd or Ctrl just press Option or Alt like Alt+B or Alt +L but you have to press the Alt which is on the RIGHT side of the keyboard below L
Me: well, I already know most of them. Also me while watching the video: I didn't know you could change velocity that way! This changes everything! 9:27
If you're interested, i did a little thing to put ableton live shortcuts on a stream deck, with some nice other features on it, tell me your opinion about it, i'm curious !
I'm using ableton for audiobook production, rather than music. I was wondering, if there is any way when I have a a selection, to force it to become a certain length, as I have to adjust the spaces between sentences and paragraphs literally thousands of times, and having to highlight, see what the time is, think of the math needed to increase/reduce it to the correct time and then duplicate or delete time is incredible.
What's your favourite shortcut?
definitely the 0 key to disable various things. I used Ableton for a couple of years before someone told me that and it blew my mind

Me: *Learns 95 things*
This was the type of level up I needed!

Would love to see this kind of rapid fire no nonsense overview of hidden Push 2 commands 🙏 thanks!
Very helpful for production lessons with my students, thank you!!
1:14 shift space = play where last stop
1:20 select + alt space = play selected and stop
3:38 CTL+ drag= drag smoothly
3:57 changing loop marker with keyboard
4:00 left/ right arrow = move loop marker
4:03 CTL left/right = increase loop marker size
4:06 CTL up/down = double/half loop marker size
And yes, these high density, no fillers straight to the essence lessons are very welcomed, bits of knowledge are scattered everywhere on TH-cam, but YOUR experience shows in YOUR flow, that is most def niche here on TH-cam, so yes please more of YOUR flowness, cheers from Germany!
Beautifully done. No nonsense. Straight to the point. Thank you!
