    The “reverse” & “invert” buttons are essential for me when I’m writing a melody or a bassline. I pretty much ALWAYS at least hit those & listen to what it sounds like- even if I immediately go back to how I originally wrote it. Those 2 buttons have led me down countless paths I never would’ve gone down, if not for those buttons.

      You can reverse it with reverb then print it to audio and reverse it again to line up with the original progression but with a layered effect on it. Nice little production tip.

      @@contraspower6302 I've used FL for 5 years. It's a lot easier to stay organized in ableton. Don't have to manually add tracks to mixer, automations are easier, don't have to work too hard to stay organized.

    • @jakuparogvijoensen2638
      @jakuparogvijoensen2638 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is why I switched as well. Building big projects was a pain in fl studio in my opinion. Automation was my number 1 issue as it makes another clip just for the automation, which again makes it very hard to stay organized.

    The easiest way to draw velocities imo is you can also highlight the notes who’s velocities you want to change. Then press Ctrl + E while dragging with left click across the velocities, hard to explain in words but super easy to figure out it’ll do you wonders

    For the midi editor preview you can simply press (Ctrl K) when it's highlighted you click on the little icon then simply select a key on your keyboard you wish to assign it to push it and then it's mapped to that as a shortcut. You can do this with many parameters and can save you so much time with workflow

    There is a good way to edit multiple midi parts of different instruments in the same time frame in one piano roll window. Just select several midi parts of different instruments located at the same time interval with cntrl + l. maus click. Colored stripes will appear at the top of the piano roll, allowing you to quickly switch between the notes of the selected instruments, and all notes of all midi parts will be visible in one window.

    Is there any way to let the PENCIL tool drop 1/4 or 1/16th long notes? Is that possible in any way even through any sort of KB shortcut?

    • @EDMProd
      @EDMProd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, so the pencil tool notes are determined by the size of your grid. So just change the grid to the size you want and click away! The shortcuts for changing grid side are CMD+1 or CMD+2

    • @ShubhamSingh-lk7he
      @ShubhamSingh-lk7he 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EDMProd Ah true Thanks! and I tried it rn but here's the thing though sometimes, the grid glitches out and doesn't really change despite the time signature changing, idk if you face it or not but it happens and confuses me at times and I gotta like scrub-zoom out and back in to actually have it work and it just messes up my flow when producing.
      I tried going from 1/4 to 1/8 but saw the grid not change at all so i zoomed out just enough and back in to have it work. Does it happen to you too? (Btw I use the fixed grid)

    • @EDMProd
      @EDMProd  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you're using that sample in a sampler, set the transpose to +4 (since G# is 4 semitones away from C). That way G# on your piano roll corresponds to G# in your sample, which will make it easier when you're adding other melodic elements.
