- This is me playing drums with KISS FOREVER BAND
I use the audio of this camera to get quite balanced and stereo sound of my kit into my monitor mix. The camcorder is usually placed closer thus the sound can be cleaner but that's compensated in the little mix I have next to me.
Maple produces frequencies that are a bit harder to catch by this an it's current possition especially from BASS drums. So that is why I use triggers on each but they go only to my mix to complete the kit sound in my in ear montitors.
The leaking of the rest of the band represents no problem as I have each instrument in individual channels and can easily over lay it.
no editing was done to this videa so you will see all the mistakes and technical problems that sometimes occures on my level. :)
Still I believe you'll enjoy, being KISS, drums or just a music fan..

By far one of the BEST drummers for a tribute band. And to play in the same style, with the same energy as Eric Singer plus adding your own twist to it. What a beast on the kit.

@@EmiOst97 Thank you very much! I'm trying.. Last year I abandoned the idea of copying the whole set up in such a detailed way though... I felt really uncomfortable already.. I set up now rather Eric-ish.. :D than 'just like Eric'.. I might come back to it though one day, who knows.:)

The toms sound incredible
Thank you very much.. VERY thin shells and they sound even better now tuned just a bit higher. I'll post a vid from my studio and put the link here. BTW theae are FAME Custom ( Keller Shells - maple ) I'll put the contact where to order any sizes, colors etc. here as well.

@Elrecreo-kr6zk No, it isn't. Our point is to keep what fans would consider 'must' ei. cow bell in Deuce, exact guitar solo in DRC, the roll in IWMFLY etc. We try to make sure the rest is no less than KISS-ish. I also have the luck to be able to mix three different drummers and furthermore each of them from their own various eras. And then yeah, I also add stuff here and there.

Very good drummer.
You are a great musician you have a good technique and this means you had been working hard !!! Sometimes playing live we make mistakes I saw a couple but imperceptibles to the audience !! In general you are awesome your drum set is great !!
Thank you very much for your kind words! Much appreciated! I agree with you on the mistakes. Pretty much unavoidable live.. I saw and heard bigger aces making mistakes. We r not perfect and seeing some in others' playing only reminds me we r humans.. And most people probably really don't know. I still practice though. I wasted much time in the 90', now trying to catch up. Thank you again! It's really nice to know when someone likes what I do.

Sounds great, but you guys need to shorten the time from hitting the stage to playing. That was painfully long.

Hey HERR ACKEN FAN 2020. First sorry for replying in English but I would not be able to do so in German.. second.. I noticed that you post the same questioin over and over again every now and then... Which would be OK, if it didn't sound as if I owed you the set list of the show.. I think after alread months you could have easily create the set list yourself, if you really wanted it. Especially, and I'm sorry, but I am not about to give out the set list, since as I said, after months of asking you could do that your self, not to mention the way you seem to ask.. Like.. 'where is the setlist..?' You get me? Cheers and no hard feelings! ;-)

What drum heads do you use?
Those were Remo Clear Emperor. I now use Remo Ambassador Coated on this particular kit.
What sticks are you using? Because I use Vic firth extreme 5a and I’m scared that I’m not projecting enough and what sticks do you recommend for projection durability and sticks that won’t crack my cymbals in 2 seconds lol
@@josiahpringle498 HAHA, I think you can crack a cymbal with a tooth pick if wrongly played. Depends on the thickness and the alloy I believe. Some thick cymbals crack anyway for they are made fragile. Some thin ones will last because they stretch. And then yeah, the power of a hit. Position/angle, as well. I know as a tribute to Eric Singer I am NOT a good example to people that wanna save their cymbals.. O:) But I generally hit them lighter then it looks like. It's kinda the Moeller. Hands very high but not necessarily to hit hard ( any more :D )
As to the sticks those were some kinda shorter version of something like 5B made here in Hungary out of hornbeam.. I recently switched to Agner sticks from Switzerland. Those are 2B. I think it's my small palms that don't want to wrap my finger around thinner sticks. Therefore thicker feel more comfortable. They are a bit heavier, but that is already thing of a training. And with enough of it, you control them well and can play even softly if needed.
Generally speaking you should produce a less loud or a thinner sounds with 5A comparing to 2B but it also depends on the projection of a drum AND the power used when hitting. Similarly for cymbals.

Thank you for your opinion ;-) I think it could be because Eric Singer spent more time in KISS than Peter Criss did? And Eric is BTW still in the band. That makes sense to me. If I was using your logic, then quase always ( as you say ) when there is a Beatles tribute band it would have to be Pete Best impersonator on drums because Pete Best was the original drummer, not Ringo Starr. And I'm sure you yourself could name a couple of others, similar examples of this kind. But if you wanted to point out, that Eric isn't the original then thank you, but that I already knew :)

Poor man's Kiss haha Well, without explosions, fireworks, flying drums, and other cool Kiss-shit, it's a bit missed the point. But fake Gene sounds quite like the real one (maybe 'cause he's from Hungary too (?) ), and nice drums. Fake Paul, dude, consider maybe some other tribute band ? No bad feelings ;)
The drummer is great the rest of the band sucks and Genes bass is never that loud and learn how to sing for Gods sake
Can't negate the great drumming but I think this is just too much, equivalent of a guitar player trying to embellish a song all the time
Thank you for your interesting opinion and for your compliments. I understand that it can seem too much but mind you this is a KISS tribute band.. it is supposed to be too much. Too much of make up, too much of costumes, too much of high platform boots, too much of drums and too much of stick tricks.. It has always been more about all that than about music with KISS. But not everybody likes it that way, I get it.
