Been trying to figure out your last fill for some time. Been getting close, experimenting when to integrate my bass drums, but had not found a video that let me hear it like yours. THANKS!! You do a fine job! I'll try again!!
I'm a novice metal drummer that's been playing for abt a year now and this is extremely helpful - especially bc I struggle to come up with good&appropirate fills. Thank you so much!
I like the "raining fire" 6 note fill phrased as 16th note sextuplets, played on the quarter for three beats, then a hard flam on the snare on beat 4. Tasty fills CJ! 👍
This vid may be a year old, but man, thank you. I've been lost on fills for a while. Always playing the same boring ones. Been wanting to try something different. Those are all awesome! I can't wait to practice them!
Very cool, thank you! Please make another video with a double pedal, I really like it! The last Fills is just top! p.s. I'm just starting to master it :) And greetings from Ukraine to you 😎
TY for breaking down #3! That's the one I'm trying to learn the most and it's eluding me. Hannes in Sabaton uses it all the time and they're one of my favorite bands to play \m/
You have some of the best sounding drums on you tube bro!! And I'm so glad your playing Paiste cymbals!! I can tell the difference. Those cymbals compliment the drums!!
I might not exactly be the target audience for this, as I don't really play drums at all, but this video was so amazing and helpful. I'm an aspiring composer that is gradually learning more about drums and, as I'm trying to write some video-game style music this is definitely one of the best tutorials that I've found to help me with metal and metal-style drum patterns (not just the fills). Seriously, this is so cool. Thanks!
WOW! Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate that 😃 Hopefully the rest of my content (and up'n'coming content) will be as entertaining to watch 😃
"The raining fire" was new to me. I'd also like to know what is it called that is played "RH RK LH LK RH RK LH LK.....". It sounds awesome like a rolling thunder.
Thanks! I enjoy educating (even though I'm not getting that much paid for it on TH-cam) and I'm happy to inspire drummers to come up with their own stuff! :D
I like how you get right to the point on these lessons. The production and presentation are great too. Im surprised you weren't a Paiste user having being in Europe and their presence there. Glad you switched. I prefer them even though I use a little of everything.$$
Thank you for that great tutorial! Do you mind telling me a little bit about your Drum Set Up? Which Set are you using? Is it a 20 inch Base Drum with the Toms mounted on a rack system? Greets Francis
Thanks! I have an older video about what mics I'm using, but I'll probably do an updated version of that + my setup :) You can also check out my video on the audio interfaces I use
I was looking for the "Raining Fire" Fill which is used by Parkway Drive in Prey but couldn't find for ages... Thanks! ☺By the way... which bass drum head do you use?
I have never ever in my life learned left to right ever I just did what feels right. Also I play laft handed on a right handed set up. Horrible habit and it's hard to break. But I definitely could call me self intermediate from practicing for hours by my self. I play metal with a double pedal but I usually play a lot of rlrlrlrl stuff 😅. Or rlbbrlbbrlbbrlbbelbb for my metal fillers. So this stuff it's really hard. I need to start practicing llrllrllrllr on a drum pad or I feel I will never break my skill level.
@@ThatSwedishDrummer sorry I didn’t word that very well haha do you think of fast hertas as all wrist strokes or does the right hand lead use double strokes to keep up?

Always awesome as usual thanks for the filler lesson. I can see why you love Paiste cymbals.

Do you mind telling me a little bit about your Drum Set Up?

Greets
Francis
Thanks, Francis! I have a Pearl Reference Series kit, and it’s a 22x18” bass drum.
Yes, I use a drum rack to mount my rack toms and cymbal stands.
been playing the herta all this time .. without knowing its the herta ... always thought it was a 2 -2 lol
Verry nice🎉😊

Thanks, bud!

Benny Greb signature brass snare! :D

Remo Powerstroke 3
Amazing video ! I love how your snare sounds. What is the model and the drumhead you are using ? :)
Thanks!!
It's a Benny Greb signature brass snare and I'm using a Remo coated Ambassador
💣💥🥁🎶🥳💯🤘
Bra att det står 5 fills i texten i början 😄
Nää fyfan!! haha
Måste sluta redigera videos 02.00 på natten... 😄
zero hour gang where you at!
I'm programming drums on a laptop. I will forever be at 0 hours
All ways go to Bleed
Oh, yeah, one foot.. 😉
If I can do it, so can you!
I have never ever in my life learned left to right ever I just did what feels right. Also I play laft handed on a right handed set up. Horrible habit and it's hard to break. Is there any trick to playing hertas fast or is each stroke still a wrist stroke? (No rebound is there?)
Of course there's rebound :)
There's no specific trick. All it takes is practice and keeping a relaxed grip!
@@ThatSwedishDrummer sorry I didn’t word that very well haha do you think of fast hertas as all wrist strokes or does the right hand lead use double strokes to keep up?
@@stevealexander415 nah I never put double strokes in hertas. 😊
Awesomeeeeeeee video my dear friend ,i want to send you some songs of my band to tell me your opinion if you want when you have time
❤❤❤
🙌
Slow it down about 75 bpm and I'm ready lol
Didnt saw a coment on this so i may ask what grooms where u using at the first fill? and also where can i find them?
Grooms? You mean grooves?
Isn’t the third fill essentially what’s called a “Portnoy”?
Not really 😄 I mean he uses it frequently, but a lot of metal drummers use it (and drummers long before Portnoy) ^^
Awesome🤘
Thanks!! :D
I thought he was a true metal fan, until he listed the bands…
What’s a “true” metal fan then, according to you?
He redeemed himself with a Meshuggah
Gatekeeping much?
Fantastic, man!! 🙌🔥
