Max Verstappen and the Dutch F1 fans in general have brought F1 to life in recent years. Max is obviously very close to those around him. I've never witnessed such a great sportsman. I'm a big fan.
Jos will always be a bad human. Bad man. Bad dad. Etc. But whatever animosity those two had towards each other left when they embraced after abu dhabi. I don't know what it is to be max verstappen truth is no one does. But you can tell that was a moment he was waiting for. Love is complicated. But people should stop faulting max for loving his father. I see a man in max forgiving his father. And I see a very vulnerable and exposed jos realizing that forgiveness. Obviously I'm not body language expert. But you can tell that both of these guys were going through something far more emotional than just an f1 world championship at that moment. Jos is still a loser. That'll never change. But it's okay that max loves his dad. And I think at the least people should stop bringing up all that childhood trauma stuff. Whatever beef they had went away when max sealed his fate as an f1 champion. Doesn't excuse any of the horror stories. But also don't pretend that we know what it's like to be an f1 prodigy who grew up with an f1 dad. Again dosent excuse any of it it's just not a life you or I or anyone will really ever understand.

My father was a big Max Verstappen fan, loved to watch the sports since Max was in it. My father went ill halfway 2021 and passed away a week after Max winning the '21 title. After the passing af my mother , his 47 year long wife, F1 braught a slight joy back in his life with Max doing well. I'm lucky and happy he could still see Max win his first WDC.

Rewatching this video is more effective than any antidepressant. It's June 2023 and I watch this and other Abu Dhabi 2021 final lap reaction videos whenever I feel blue. My mood instantly improves. I started watching Formula 1 in the 1980s. I became a fan of Max since 2016 and I don't remember feeling such a strong sporting emotion in my entire life.

Lewis got unlucky with the safety car (and his team choosing track position over fresh tires) but that is F1, safety cars happen (others crashing have worked in Lewis’ favor this season, for instance Imola where it gave him 19 points instead of the 0 he otherwise would have gotten). Finishing under yellow was a situation Mercedes among others has protested against before the race. Mercedes knew the race would be green flagged, yet they chose track position and really only have themselves to blame. Pathetic clown you are

Uhm, I think this sounds very weird, but this was my first race, that I watched, (I've already watched Monaco 2020, but I wasn't interested in F1 at that point, so I didn't understand anything) and I was for Max, and my sisters for Lewis. In the final lap, I just started to cry, and shouted right in front of the screen: "Drive Max, drive!!!!!!!!!!!" This was one of the most emotional and best moments of my life!
Max is a hero for anyone that has had so much hate and negativity given to them either at work or school or anywhere. He was given a ton of hate for being the new kid in F1. He has overcome those adversaries and shown the haters are wrong and will never win. Max is a pillar of strength for those that are being doubted, taunted and hated upon. Max is a role model for those facing adversaries.
All the Hamilton fans should just leave Max alone . He doesn't make the rules for the safety car procedure . Yeah Lewis certainly deserved to win the Abu Dhabi race but Max was definitely a worthy champ based on the whole . People burdened Max with the moniker of ' future champiion' ever since he arrived in F1 at 17 years old . That is a massive burden to have to carry and now that weight has now been lifted and that is why he feels so emotional. You can tell he feels like a man liberated from that pressure. Max has achieved his dream now . Any further championship wins will be a bonus. I think Max will be at peace with himself from now on whatever happens.
RBR played the game smarter then Mercedes did. In my opinion Mercedes should take the gamble and go to the box aswell. okey you might loose your position, but become 2nd you could attack Max with a faster car and on fresh red tyres. I think they made a strategic mistake, an expensive one.
I think peace is the last thing this will bring to Verstappen. It will forever haunt him that he didn’t win it, he was given it. The race director abandoned the rules to put him in that position. Who cares what the fans think, what will the press conferences be like in 2022? How will 2021 be written in history? If Verstappen never wins another Championship he will break. I will never forget this day. We still had to play football with our team during the start. We asked to start earlier so we could see the race but no luck. The only club in the Netherlands that could not play before 12:00 p.m. on Sunday due to faith! In the end we won 1-2 and made the winning goal from a free kick from 25 meters. After this in the cafeteria, we resigned ourselves to the fact that Hamilton was clearly going to be champion. Until Latifi threw everything open again and Mercedes didn't change tires. Incredible day!

Max did everything he could in 2021. The officials stained that season with several silly decisions but both main protagonists drove like lions the whole year. In any case, Max drove much better in 2021 than in 2016. And since the winter of 2021/2022, he has been driving like a saint, essentially. 👍🍀
It freaks me out thinking about if it hadn't been for the divine intervention that was Goatifi Lap 52, then Lewis & Toto & Merc would have won and gotten away with everything... with Silverstone, Saudi Arabia, the beginning of Abu Dhabi where Lewis literally simply cut the whole corner and gained 2 seconds advantage, everything. Thank god (pun intended) that God was watching over the race and decided to bestow justice.

I experienced disappointment, anger, hopelessness and jubilation all in that single GP. Well deserved by Max. That Saudi final Q3 run was legendary despite how it ended. Above and beyond best driver of the season.

Uhm, I think this sounds very weird, but this was my first race, that I watched, (I've already watched Monaco 2020, but I wasn't interested in F1 at that point, so I didn't understand anything) and I was for Max, and my sisters for Lewis. In the final lap, I just started to cry, and shouted right in front of the screen: "Drive Max, drive!!!!!!!!!!!" This was one of the most emotional and best moments of my life!

All the Hamilton fans should just leave Max alone . He doesn't make the rules for the safety car procedure . Yeah Lewis certainly deserved to win the Abu Dhabi race but Max was definitely a worthy champ based on the whole . People burdened Max with the moniker of ' future champiion' ever since he arrived in F1 at 17 years old . That is a massive burden to have to carry and now that weight has now been lifted and that is why he feels so emotional. You can tell he feels like a man liberated from that pressure. Max has achieved his dream now . Any further championship wins will be a bonus. I think Max will be at peace with himself from now on whatever happens.
RBR played the game smarter then Mercedes did. In my opinion Mercedes should take the gamble and go to the box aswell. okey you might loose your position, but become 2nd you could attack Max with a faster car and on fresh red tyres. I think they made a strategic mistake, an expensive one.

I think peace is the last thing this will bring to Verstappen. It will forever haunt him that he didn’t win it, he was given it. The race director abandoned the rules to put him in that position. Who cares what the fans think, what will the press conferences be like in 2022? How will 2021 be written in history? If Verstappen never wins another Championship he will break. I will never forget this day. We still had to play football with our team during the start. We asked to start earlier so we could see the race but no luck. The only club in the Netherlands that could not play before 12:00 p.m. on Sunday due to faith! In the end we won 1-2 and made the winning goal from a free kick from 25 meters. After this in the cafeteria, we resigned ourselves to the fact that Hamilton was clearly going to be champion. Until Latifi threw everything open again and Mercedes didn't change tires. Incredible day!

Max did everything he could in 2021. The officials stained that season with several silly decisions but both main protagonists drove like lions the whole year. In any case, Max drove much better in 2021 than in 2016. And since the winter of 2021/2022, he has been driving like a saint, essentially. 👍🍀
It freaks me out thinking about if it hadn't been for the divine intervention that was Goatifi Lap 52, then Lewis & Toto & Merc would have won and gotten away with everything... with Silverstone, Saudi Arabia, the beginning of Abu Dhabi where Lewis literally simply cut the whole corner and gained 2 seconds advantage, everything. Thank god (pun intended) that God was watching over the race and decided to bestow justice.
