    You are a natural at reviews! Love the pace of this breakdown. Thought about picking up the Y a few years back but can't get past the possibility of exterior build issues, decent probability of visiting a Tesla service center, the subpar paint job, cheaper- looking materials throughout, the rims, full touchscreen controls, or the silhouette.

      There are panel gaps in Model Y but its built stronger than any other car on the road, the cheaper looking materials are more visible because there is less to look at, in my opinion i dont get why people go for Legacy Car companies when they want a electric car, I would better get a Mustang V8 while it still lasts, Better get a TESLA, RIVIAN OR LUCID if you want a electric vehicle and Tesla takes the lead in that with the Charging Network. Its just a massive win a massive win, the non tesla charging stations are just trash, they dont work as well as tesla superchargers does.

    I'm new to EV's, but isn't the lack of regen in the beginning caused by the battery being completely charged full? After all, regen means energy being put back in the battery, and that can't happen when it's already full. The Tesla manual also says the battery should not be charged 100%, partly because of that reason.

    I just purchased a white 22 model y long range, 22,016 miles, with acceleration boost, fsd, white/black interior, for 45,600.00. It’s the perfect car for us. As for the mach E looking better inside and out.. I guess that’s personal preference. We sure don’t think so. So worth it. The charging network and fsd on trips is a game changer for sure.

    Recently put in an order for a Model Y. Was 100% sold on getting a Mach e or a Mach e GT but just about every dealership has a $10k market adjustment.... I couldn't bring myself to do it. A more efficient vehicle, with a crazy supercharger network, and a similar adjusted price point, it just made more sense to get the MYLR. Plus the standard Autopilot works a LOT better than the Ford BlueCruise since I drive about 120 miles per day.

But if u already have a high end luxury sports cars u will find teslas very dull and lacking personality. I drove my friends porsche after having a model x plaid. I think if someone is buying their first electric car, its a clear choice buy a TESLA. The charging network is just ONE BIG THING that takes it all, the other private chargers are super bad. And in my opinion if you gonna buy a electric buy a tesla, feel the new thing, the minimalism, the simplicity. If you want to go for other electric brands choose the company which solely makes electric cars like Rivian or Lucid, otherwise whats the point? You better get that Mustang with a V8 while it still lasts.

    I abominate how fast the autopilot wants you to check in so fast, like it's in 33 seconds or something. Cause I feel like it won't give the driver extra time to rest for awhile and not do anything until they decide when to check in or turn it off. For me personally if I was owner of Tesla, I would give the Autopilot check timing at least 5 minutes or more.

    No track mode in the Model Y.
    Also, you can change braking to "Roll" (I believe that's what it's called) and turn off regen braking... surprised you missed it, as you seem very familiar with most of the functions of the vehicle.
    My Model Y, picked up Dec. 26 last year, had no panel gaps, and overall was really perfect! I do realize not everyone has that experience, but Tesla has improved on quality.
    Oh... and Performance also gives the Model Y Matrix headlights, so for $5,000, you get quicker 0-60, much nicer wheels, carbon fiber spoiler, brembo brakes, lowered suspension... it's really a great value! In fact, it's more expensive on the Model 3 for some reason!
    Safety rating (all 5 * with the Tesla) and resale value should also be considered when comparing two different but similar model cars.
    Thanks for a great review!

    • @MilesPerHr
      @MilesPerHr  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I get it, tesla has the best tech across EVs (and/or ICE) but I just cannot justify the price of the vehicle when the car has subpar interior, ride comfort, exterior gap and flush, and more. Design wise I think it's okay but this is subjective and everyone would have different opinions. The right sticker tag of the model Y should be within the range of 40,000 - 45,000 USD (before tax). BUT I encourage everyone to buy the car more and more since I have invested a lot in tesla stocks. I'd consider purchasing tesla after this early/alpha stage is done and tesla bumps up the overall quality and reduces the price with refined batteries in the next several years.

    the minute people stop relying on their vehicle to define themselves or for an ego boost and think of a vehicle as a tool to transport. sad life for those who need material possessions to define who they are. I just saw a Facebook post complaining how recent traffic in town made his 3-5 minute 1 mile commute now 10-15 minutes. Who would drive to work living a mile away? How lazy are you? no he isn't disabled, he is 38 and healthy just SUPER lazy a symptom of the problems we have currently.

      I don't think it's appropriate to call someone lazy in this particular situation as everyone has their different opinions and ways of tackling stuffs -- so for some people they would prefer driving to work regardless of the distance (1mile vs 10 miles doesn't really matter they need a car). However, I agree how people should move away from relying on their vehicle to define themselves/show off ego/ etc etc. I'm a type of person who does not judge others by their book cover, but obviously there are quite of people out their who wants to focus only on their cover.

    The beyond econo box interior is unacceptable for a 63K vehicle. I've seen better interiors in a 2021 Corolla. Do better, Tesla.

      What makes you say it's a 2021? The owner confirmed it's a 2022 and it's checked by Turo when you have to register your VIN.
