- How to install the FCS magwell when your frame is oversized. They are an injection molding part, and some of the 1.0 frames are oversized and need a little work. We don't make the magwells ovsized because then they would not hold tight on a normal frame. We have only had a handful of customers with this issue after selling 300 or so. I'm not sure what the difference is, but if you have an issue this will help!
Oh brilliant little trick for the inside of the magwell...
Thank you for this video! I just received my magwell yesterday for my 2.0 compact and have this problem. I asked a question on a different video about remedying this problem and havent gotten an answer. Sweet!!
I saw your question and answered it then decided to delete the video because it didn't have the fix and I made a new one with it for the compact. I tried to find and message you but it wasn't letting me from my phone. I'm glad you came back and found this one. I'm not on TH-cam much so it's always best to reach out on IG or FB for a fast response. Or email us directly.
@@floydscustomshop2157 Thank you!! You guys are Awesome..
Food stuff man. Tolerances do vary on the polymer frames from certain batches . The Glock 21 was notorious for that in the gen 3.
My 1.0 full-size required quite a bit of extensive sanding work on the magwell. Actually ended up using a dremmel tool to speed things up. Once I got the new magwell on, my mags with the +6 extension were not releasing at all. I tried the sandpaper wrap technique hes showing but the magwell did not have enough room to slide it in. Again, I had to do quite a bit of sanding inside the magazine chamber and on the inside of the well for things to free up. S&W must have had some inconsistencies in the polymer molding process or Im doing it wrong. All I know is it made my stomach turn seeing just how much material I had to remove from my frame to get everything to fit.
sorry to hear that Douglas, i wish you would have contacted us when just removing a little didnt do the trick. are you sure you got the 1.0 magwell and we didnt send you a 2.0 by mistake? i've never had one where you have to remove that much material. would love to get some more info from you to try and figure out what the issue was. i know the 1.0s have some inconsistencies in the old molds, but not that bad. customshopjefferyj@gmail.com
I just purchased a magwell for my 1.0 and I’m experiencing tightness right underneath the mag release. I find that I have to give some extra push with my palm when loading the mag. This is after I applied the sanding paper.
Is that with a full mag and slide closed? Or locked back?
@@floydscustomshop2157 That’s with a full mag and the slide closed. It locks fine with the slide open.
@@ProactiveDefenseLLC ok well that is because of the extra pressure of the added rounds to the mag, that is normal.
@@floydscustomshop2157 ok like a full mag in a closed AR. Thanks for the assistants.
More videos please!
What you want to see? This king about doing one on apex trigger installs. I have a special tool I'm making up to sell to help with the trigger spring.
@@floydscustomshop2157 That sounds good, but I'd like to see more of your slide work on the m&p 2.0. I have a 2.0 compact thinking about sending it your way. From what I see you do great work. Show every body.
@@MrDAN854 thanks man! I post up videos on our Instagram all the time. Might start uploading some hear.
@@floydscustomshop2157 I'll check you out on Instagram. Thanks
Why does it cost so much? Would love to get this for my 1.0 but, over $100 for mag well and extension I think is over priced.
We are priced very reasonably and competitively for the quality and precision of our parts. We are a small family business and do our best to keep the costs down but it does cost a lot to manufacture and run a business. You won't be disappointed.
@Crazy Train It's worth every penny... This stuff is amazing quality. Guns, and parts are a prime example of you get what you pay for. Thanks Floyds, my 4.25 2.0 reloads like butter now the few times i have to because of my +6
I bought the magwell and extensions. I think the stuff is okay but, not worth the money.
