  • Wiring a Linear Access Control system is not nearly as hard as it sounds. In this video, Umair will walk you step-by-step through wiring and installing a mag lock, proximity reader, and push-to-exit button.
    We no longer carry this model, but our Access Control line has grown considerably. Check out our current offerings at www.nellyssecurity.com/access....

    Don’t ever rely on you panel or software to unlock you door with a REX button, ALWAYS wire the REX button in series with your lock!

    Is it possible to wire in a switch (lock/unlock) to the mercury board? The door is on a schedule, but the office person wants to lock it when they are out of the office and doesn't want to manual locks.

    We currently have a Linear 212SE, can we use that is conjunction with this unit so we can change pin codes remotely?

    if i wanted to wire an automatic gate to the system, would i use just and 18/2 from control panel to automatic gate panel? If so, where on automatic gate panel would i wire it to? thanks

      Hi Paul, Im not sure where you would wire it to the gate panel but it should be doable.

    • @joshbeasley21
      @joshbeasley21 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul, you would wire it to the open command on the gate Operator. Every gate operator has a open, close, and stop terminal. So a wire from the strike relay if using a card reader, or a N/O Input if your wanting to open the gave via stationary button or through software. Very simple, the gate just needs a contact closure to open.

    Does the Linear have a place for the Red and Green LEDs from the Card Reader? (Brown and Orange wires)

    Pretty Good video. Thou did not cover type of Reader wire, gauge, shielded or non-shielded , twisted pair or regular.
    Do not be lazy! wires should be soldered and then heat shrinked and then taped to prevent damage from running new lines or removal.

    What happens in the event of a power failure? Does your door unlock if there's no power to the building?

    • @NellysSecurity
      @NellysSecurity  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how you have it setup. If it is "Fail Safe" that means it will unlock when power is cut. If "Fail Secure", doors will remain locked when power is cut.

      @@NellysSecurity would that require a battery backup then?

    • @NellysSecurity
      @NellysSecurity  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RacelifeCo A battery backup is always good on a Access Control system, but worse case if a battery backup dies, thats when fail safe and fail secure come into play.

      if it's a mag lock, it's "fail safe"... no power, no lockey...

  • @joshbeasley21
    @joshbeasley21 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Your maglock is on the unsecure side of the door. Also no anchor or retro box was used, I could easily take the reader off the wall, short the power wires together and everything on that circuit will now have no power, not to mention that reader port on the controller is now fried.

    With you mag lock install you forgot to install the locating pins on the armature it is also to low to get a seal on a monitored mag lock

      Your using the wrong wire cat5 or cat 6 is usually used for cams and data. You need 18/6 or 18/4 stranded wire you can find some at an electrical supply house
