I've always wondered if it were possible to make a bouncing betty fuse using one of those pizza table things, since those are mass produced and already exist. I just don't have the space to play around with that idea.
@@Stray03 Basically, yeah. Cut a hole through the table section to allow space for the spring/primer/fuse assembly to fit, and a metal washer to hold it in place and strengthen the plastic/act as part of the triggering mechanism.
First was using the measurement tools on photoshop and using my piat. Ordnance collector forums are also a good source if you get lucky, which is where over a few different posts on the topic some owners measured theirs.
Are you talking about an actual piat fuze or are you talking about making one in that style for a project. If it is an actual piat fuze then as long as you get approx the same velocity it should be good to get it to go unless I'm missing something. If you want to make your own then you can change the spring to suit the needs of the project. You can also do what I did with my smoke arrows and use an American style fuze for their ww2 rifle grenades and bazooka rounds.

The Fuze sets off the detcord which sets off the explosive train at the base of the warhead. Problem with that design is that anything in front of or going through the centre of a shaped charge will act negatively on the effect and make it less efficient.

Lol indeed. To be fair when they realized that rough handling (air drops where chutes didnt open fully for example) of the 246 fuze could cause explosions on firing they quickly sent out warnings. The fuzes were safe unless they were armed by a shock. Or if people picked up rounds that had not exploded somehow.

You mean to use it as the prongs? I guess it could work, cold weather may be a problem with the plastic. Never tried to cool one down below zero.

True, other issue is that the table part will act as resistance if it is under ground with the mine unless it is the same size as plunger.

Can you talk any slower? The voice is just not clear. If you could simply talk normally we can slow down in the TH-cam settings.
