Akiko Shikata is a criminally underrated composer, and her work on Umineko speaks for itself. Eiko Shimamiya has her own moments of glory in Higurashi as well. Overall, it's a vast collaboration of incredibly talented artists creating an unforgettable soundtrack.

I love that voice, it's so calm. . . . then a bit louder, but it's not like really screaming! And the music is really beautifull.I really loved Higurashi and Umineko. Though i am probably the only one who loves anime, because my friends and other people would think it's weird :/
I like hiragushi and umineko, too. I am interested in anime first, but I have wait for Umineko Anime for more than 4 four years, so sad that it doesn't come out... I turned to the game last few weeks for the Chiru... really shocking and touching. I really don't understand why ppl keep saying Umineko is a crap...
Pamela Chan Umineko does have an anime adaptation but its rather lackluster. When people say Umineko sucks they are talking about the anime, not the visual novel.

Even though it's obvious that this isn't Virgillia's voice, I think this voice would suit her better than the one she has. It sounds calm and gentle, yet incredibly badass at the same time. Her current seiyuu unfortunately lacks the badass part a bit too much. *Red* 'Lia deserves more love!
While I do agree that she deserves more love, in fact all the love, I think her voice is fine. This voice sounds a little bit too young for her, I think. And it's pretty sad how little screen time Virgilia got, especially in some of the later episodes.

You could always check out ayakura mei's other performances that are so underground I highly doubt you'll ever get copyright struck. A good example of one would be yubisashinosaki, the only version of this song existing on youtube is the youtube generated "topic" and it only has 330 views (I'm probably most of them lol)

Zaim Meh Seems much more like an illustrated book with soundtrack to me (the name visual "novel" says it all). A visual novel is for sure more than words, but you can't even compare the number of words (obviously superior) with the number of other elements. It's more like a deluxe read session, bro haha

I can understand play (since you are making decisions that will modify the story according to your actions), even in Umineko (that doesn't have actual gameplay until Episode 8 came out), but watch... first time I've ever heard about this (Just imagine someone saying "I'm watching that awesome Lord of the Rings illustrated edition while listening to the audiobook". That same person just might as well go on and say "I've read that movie, it was amazing" at some point, just because of the subtitles for example).
