This transformation is beyond belief! And it's a joy to see how tickled Monica is! The hummingbirds are already having a party & those chairs are situated perfectly to oversee it all on the patio. It shows how you can turn a smaller, blank canvas of a space into an oasis. Wonderful to watch in every way! Tell Ken thanks for the photoshopped grass!

Thank you so much for showing a real-time version of Monica's first foray into setting up irrigation to a raised bed. I've probably watched you do it at least 20 times, but I would still be a little intimidated to do it myself. Watching you walk Monica through the process while she did the work was kind of comforting.😂

This is one of my favorite videos because Monica and her garden size are closer I think to the typical viewer. It’s been a joy to see this space come together with thought, materials, hard work and beautiful plants. I was like Monica 2 years ago with irrigation and thanks to Laura’s tutorials, all my beds are now on drip. I have 5 zones off of 2 hose connections and three timers (2 double and one single). Everything is thriving. Thank you so much.
I don’t mean to be a Debbie Downer but showing the plant “fails” and saying it just happens sometimes makes me feel so much better as a gardener. Not wishing ill on your plants but it’s like seeing an Olympian practice and not just watching them at the games. Thank you for keeping it real.

Agreed! I bought 3 of the exact same plant, same group, same store and time. One died, one is struggling and the other is doing great. It’s nice to have someone remind us that plants do their own thing.
That has also happened to me. It can be a bit frustrating especially when you have a design in mind and a replacement plant is no longer available. It most often happens with shrubs for me.

Not just girl power, but sister power...I don't know why, but at one point it just brought tears of joy to my eyes seeing Laura show her sister how to connect the drip lines. I love the trellis it is perfect. Such a wonderful transformation on a smaller backyard...very inspirational! Hummingbird approved! What a tranquil space. Thank you for sharing. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

@mallred7578 they didn't discuss the tags but you can see one at the edge of the raised bed when Laura starts installing drip.

Today I installed my very first drip system while coincidentally watching/listening to this episode! I loved when Monica said “This was easier than I thought!” because I felt the same way. I have been afraid to install it for months!! Thank you for being such a good teacher and for showing me that gardening isn’t as hard as it first looks. Garden Answer is a good friend and company when I’m gardening on my own 💚

Then today watching you work with your sister, I was amazed with the “Girl Power” going on. I adore seeing the sisterly bond over gardening with you two. I am one of three girls and am the only one who loves gardening. I get it from my Daddy. He had the "Green Thumb".
I try to get my nieces involved as often as I can and they seem to like it so far. But uh seeing you two warms my heart. Especially when you asked her "You're coming over to my house to grab some annuals, right?" and Monica's happy smile "Yeah". How fun. Just like sisters.

1/4 DRIP … a life changer- thank you for introducing us to it over the years! But Laura makes 1/2 connections look so easy - you must have the bionic super power hands ! I now use a lighter to heat up the ends slightly and that’s a life changer too because as I get older - I just can’t do it!

Laura’s enthusiasm is such an amazing energy to witness. They say grounded (to the earth) people are the happiest people & Laura is such an example of this. I no longer have a garden, but I do have lots of houseplants. I even invested in a grounding mat that I put my feet on every night while I sleep. It is so critical to connect to the earth’s energy every day. It truly makes a difference in one’s mental health. At least it does for me! 🌍❤

I love this project so much!! I love that you were able to help Monica and Nick make their dream a reality. It was fantastic that Monica had no experience with installing a drip system so we could watch her learn and feel so great about the process. I look forward to seeing her fill her beautiful garden with more red flowers and things she loves. Her excitement over little things like the hummingbirds just made me like her even more. As much as I love watching you garden and create in your and Aaron’s very large space seeing you actually transform this more average sized yard has been my favorite of all the projects you’ve done. Most of us will never own a property the size of yours but thousands of us can truly relate to owning something closer to this size. What an inspiration you have been. My wife and I watch daily and have learned so much. Like your sister we have a new home in Idaho that was "Moondust" and weeds in the back yard. We've added sod, trees and built raised island beds. Yesterday we traveled to Andrews Seed in Ontario. We met Susan and had a wonderful conversation, she and I exchanged ankle stories and everyone there was fantastic! We got a wagonload of plants for the backyard and can't wait to visit again.
