If both parties got a lawyer and at least one of them actually formally filed claims, there isn't much the court can do outside of taking the case. Obviously, they can go "the defendant was literally five and therefore legally not able to commit crimes. Case closed", but they can't just *ignore* it because it's silly

It’s a little confusing because of the jury but this is just a civil case, there’s no reason for them to be charged with contempt. 🤷♀️ They are fully within their legal rights to hold a case for this reason. It wouldn’t stand in a criminal trial but this can’t be one of them, there was no police involvement. Contempt in a civil case would be for if they were swearing or being belligerent. They respected court protocol, they would just have been paying money into the system for nothing. Worse things make it to court. The issue here is that they’re recording the proceedings, which is absolutely not allowed in any civil court. Which makes me think the whole thing is just fake.
