I just bought one from game stop on a sell for 80 bucks. Love it. Also looking around online a lot of these are going for 150 bucks now. Great video man.
My theory on the videogame is that it will be silently canon. I dont think we'll hear any mention of it or if we do it'll be minimal like one of the Busters saying "Didnt we beat Shandor already????" Or something like an Easter Egg in the background. Maybe a slime tank or the Meson Collider parts sitting on a table. Every threat the GBs dealt with; Egon would modify the pack with temporary modifications. With Shandor all those mods he put on what I call the "Monster Pack" were meant to be reversed. They were meant to be taken off once the threat was dealt with and then return back to a normal GBI and GBII pack. So we'll see!!!!
I was thinking maybe a few minor references that the majority might see as a throwaway line, but will be recognizable for hardcore *_Ghostbusters_* fans.
Mine arrived a few weeks ago and I love the thing. Hasbro did a great job. I missed out on all of the Mattel prop replicas so this is a nice addition to my collection.
I love that they didn't cut corners, like where Mattel molded the trigger box in one blocky piece. On the Hasbro wand, it has the proper separation. Just a really authentic looking replica.
If you are right handed, your trigger finger is on the right hand, and you hold the end grip with left. Same as guitar, you hold the neck with left, and pick with right.
The extra wire coming from the front grip is usually the wire lead for the tip's orange hat light and a button which hasbro did not include next to it. Kit builds (and probably the original props) tend to run that wire under the front grip and it enteres the gun box there to connect to the electronics board in the wand. Haslab is the only way they do a pack I'd think.

They get rust too! They just wanted you to be made aware of that fact, but still nice video for sure. Great quality.

If you want to make it even more movie accurate. You can do a vent window delete. It's pretty involved but worth it when done. You have the tools!!! You have the talent!!

I wish I had one of these when I disguised myself into a Ghostbuster on Halloween in high school! Easy to do. Remove the bottom plate, remove the battery pack. Drill out the positive negative plate. Mount the batteries and an amp in the proton pack. run the battery and sound wires thru the pack tube, into the back handle to access the circuit board. Done!
that wire on the front grip that isn't on the matty is the wiring from the button and light at the tip that goes under the grip into the body. I own a proton pack I've built and mine has this for that

I think that we are going to be seeing a great deal of fan service in Afterlife. We already know that the Ecto-1 has the gunner seat, which is likely a nod to the RGB one, and I wouldn't doubt if the different pack modes showed up, either.
I wasn't gonna hit the like button because you don't know what a Clippard valve is used for which provides pressure to force the charged protons from the pack to the Neutrona wand and from the wand out. In real life they are used in hospital medical equipment and the ones on the GB equipment are the ones from the 80s but I'll go ahead and hit that like button cause it was a dope comparison video. Keep it up.
I just want to say thank you for putting out this video I been looking for a proton gun to replace my spirit halloween one after I saw this video I went to the website and got me one I'm mobbing my pack and this helps a lot so to a ghostbusters fan to another 🍫 "you earned it"

The game you're talking about came out in 2009. The Matty Collector wand definitely came out later on.

The original wands did have external wires running from the body to the barrel. Another area where Hasbro went the extra mile.

I would not be surprised if someone somehow extracts the sounds and wiring from this for those of us who build our own wands and packs

Matty had some good stuff but they really dropped the ball especially with the 1/6 ecto 1 which looked like it was gonna be amazing…
I just really wish it had a venting sequence so you didn't have to completely restart it.
