I am apart of a group with my college that raises and trains service dogs - they only use Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Golden Doodles and Labradoodles. I've found that, while any dog can be a service dog, these breeds are the best when trained correctly.
People underestimate just how much assistance animals can improve a disabled person's life making their life worth living instead of just existing and this video really demonstrates this well as he went from being in bed all the time to actually having the confidence to do things like sports again.
It's a great life for Jester as well, never lonely, getting to fetch things and pull things with lots of praise and appreciation. Service dogs and their humans are a wonderful partnership.
I might not be a dog person anymore,but this touched my heart... I know it's unusual but,this reminds me of my cat Hazel. She's my ESA,but to me... She's my service cat. She may not do tasks like this, but she does go with me everywhere And she allows me to actually do stuff in my life I wouldn't do on my own. All three of my cats are like this, Ash gets me up in the morning. Hazel comes with me everywhere and calms me down. And Timmy, he reminds me to take my medicine.
Emotional support animals only have access to go to the doctors office or the hospital with you if you have an appointment. Sometimes they are allowed on airplanes. Also landlords cannot prevent you from having them in the place you are renting. Also airports and landlords cannot charge you for ESA
since your dog your cat Timmy reminds you to take your medicine you should be able to have Him become your service cat. The other two cats don’t provide an actual service other than comfort therefore they can’t be more than an ESA
I love labs. But as an owner of a doggy day care and hotel, there are many breeds far more popular. That is a good thing. So i can have the labs to myself😊
I considered a lab for my next AD but I'm put off by the double coat after growing up round labs and GSDs. It's so easy to maintain my staffy's coat and I'm leaning towards getting a Dobie next XD
Labradors are certainly one of the most easy going dogs but I wouldn't rate them over other breeds in being intuitive to our needs. Border collies have to be the most intuitive but Ive also found our border terrier to be amazingly too.
I never fail to choke up when I see service dogs at work. Dogs are capable of such amazing things, all with wagging tails!
This video had me in tears. I'm currently waiting for my service dog; it's a long process. These dogs are remarkable and precious.

In Colorado they use Labs, Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds for Guide dogs.
