    My cat passed away... 2 days ago it was so hard for me he was my only best friend, comfort zone, only one who showed me love and i was never alone because of him i feel so lonely and depressed without my baby💔 he has bladder stones but we cant afford surgery + im scared cus he might not make it on surgery we went to 3 vets they all said it needs it and the last vet gave him some medicines she said it was first aid and it dissolves stones + anti inflammation the meds name was (Amoxicillin) and (dexamethasone) after we went home a few hours later we lost him i feel so sorry i think its my fault i only wanted to give the best for him i fed him only cat food tuna but it wasn’t a great idea in the end!

    My dog woke up in the morning and urinated very little.
    So I took him to the vet and the stone was blocking the urethra and some stones in his kidney too.
    Vet said the surgery would cost $4000
    I doubted that my 16 years old dog would survive the surgery.
    After 36 hours later the stone was flushed out with his strong urine stream
    He has to urinate every 2 hours for almost 1year
    Now he is 19 and healthy and has gone back to normal urine cycle
    I am so proud of my dog. I was so lucky.

      Hill's Canine h/d
      He's been eating it for 5 years
      I soak it and give him one by one with a fork then he swallows because he doesn't have not many teeth left.
      He still has lots of appetite though^*^

The stone was around 1.5cm in diameter and she died after the operation due to a heart attack.. was it actually life threatening or should I have tried the dissolving it.. I'm asking because my other female pom also was discovered to be having struvites in her bladder.. what should I do..

    .Thank you so much for this, Dr. My dog has stones, 5 small ones, and we're using the Hills Prescription Diet but I want to get him re-x-rayed soon as he seems to be peeing and then lifting his leg more frequently, not in any discomfort (unless I'm just watching this behavior more since Vet said to watch for certain things).

    My dog has stones inside the urethra (penis). He cannot pee, just dribbles. Was supposed to have surgery today, but they said they could not push the stones back into the bladder. They're going to try again tomorrow, otherwise he needs a specialist, which Doc said that will cost is 7 to 10 thousand dollars. It's already at $3,500 if they can fix it. He's only 2 years old. I'm sick to my stomach right now. Please pray that these docs can get these stones back into the bladder so he can get this surgery. I cannot pay $10k, but can't put him to sleep either 😢

    • @neilwattoo
      @neilwattoo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @zannelily hi. So his slight dribble of urine went on for up to 3 weeks. I waited and I hoped it would get better, but it was getting worse. He stood like a statue peeing for up to 15 minutes straight, and would continue that over and over, and nothing would come out. Anyways, they got him in for the surgery and it was successful. Pushed the stones back up from his penis/urethra to his bladder and performed a cystotomy. He had like 100 stones in there. Surgery was 3 hours long, and cost me around 3,500. What kind of dog is yours? Age? How long it been going on? Hopefully your dog's is not as bad as mine was. Here to help or give any advice I can. My prayers are with you and your pup.

    My 4 yr old female beagle mix had surgery 2 weeks ago. She had blood in her urine and turned out she had a bladder full of stones, over 20 and the vet said they would not pass on their own. My vet mentioned well water could be a contributor and in fact we do have an artesian well. I tested the water and the ph and alkalinity is extremely high. Strange that I have an older female cat that is currently having urinary issues also. I haven’t had her to the vet but used some test strips on her urine to test ph., blood, leukocytes etc. She had started urinating outside of the litter box and that’s how I knew something was up. I am mixing in 1/4 tsp apple cider vinegar with a tbsp of water in with her wet food and she is eating it well. The ph in her urine has normalized and the blood is negative now, still showing slight leukocytes but not sure how reliable test strips are for that. I am concerned about all of my animals with this high alkaline water that we have. I can’t seem to get any answers about what to do except to use bottled water which is costly for the amount of pets we have. I can’t seem to get any answers about whether or not a water filter such as Zerowater or Britta would work to reduce the alkalinity. I have 2 other dogs and 2 other cats and now I’m wondering if they all need to be x-rayed for stones which I absolutely cannot afford. My dog is on Purina Pro plan UR and the vet said she would need to be on it for life. I am using the dry and a dollop of the canned and adding water to increase the hydration which I had to research and learn on my own. I am not opposed to cooking her food if I knew for sure I had the correct recipe, the key word here is “correct”. So many videos and recipe suggestions but I don’t want to end up doing more harm then good and I would love to know if getting this water situation corrected would solve the problem and then maybe she wouldn’t need prescription food. I am so sorry this is so long but unfortunately due to the cost of it all I am using the local Humane Society vet clinic as they are low cost but that means the vet is crazy busy and she breezes in and out and I am left mostly communicating with the vet tech and they never have answers for me. I need more time with the vet but she doesn’t have it to give and I guess that’s just what you get when you are dealing with a low cost clinic. I am grateful that it is available to me but even when I took her back yesterday to have the staples removed, the vet tech came out into the lobby, took her back and then returned her 5 minutes later and said “ok everything looks like it healed up good” I had to ask about the results of the stones, which haven’t come back yet but I doubt I will hear from them when the results do come it, I will have to call. Again, I don’t mean to sound u grateful but this is a little more serious then just an average spay or neuter and I need a little more communication then what I’m getting.
