3:30 Dorico doesnt really use manual beaming like Sibelius forces composers to constantly do. Dorico has rules with composer's preferences and it does it all automatically. In Dorico4 use Library->Notation Options-> Beam Grouping

Been loving the content! I have a burning question, though. I am going into my junior year of high-school and I have been writing for about three years (summer before eighth grade). As of recently, I've been working to try and network a little bit and I'm struggling. I also have never heard any of my music played by real people except bits and pieces of one of my solo clarinet pieces and my own solo trombone pieces. I have approached my band director with my music as well and he has given me comments and I have asked if it was possible to have the band read through it and unfortunately due to timing, it just wasn't able to happen. I wanna reach out to other band programs via email to introduce some of my music to them. Would this be a good idea, or should I focus more on building an online presence so that they come to me?

Hi Ryan! I'd say to reach out to directors you already know since they're more likely to program your music compared to random ones who don't know how you are. I'm not a fan of people sending their scores to as many people as possible because I think it's annoying and unprofessional.
I'd do what you mentioned, like building an online audience and making your music as accessible as possible through TH-cam, Soundcloud, your own website, JW Pepper, SheetMusicPlus, etc. Make it easy for anyone to discover your music and design a sales funnel for them to easily purchase it.
