Great video! Totally agree on the scooty puff jr. preamp. I wish they went with the full EMG kit and kaboodle (or darkglass!) for the preamp in this bass. Watch out on the Hipshot tuner upgrade, the stock Spector tuners are a smidge smaller and require some slight boring to the tuning holes for hipshots to fit. I did it on my Eurobolt and it was definitely worth it though!

Nice bass. 😎🤘🏻🎸it sounds killer clean and distorted. I totally dig how it sounded with the darkglass plugin. The vintage ultra is my personal favorite.
I got the pulse 5 a few months back. Blown away. Going through hartke bass amp it is a monster. I'm a Spector fan now.
Chris has a great ear for tone. Outstanding tone man.
Great sounding bass. Some of the sounds with a pick are very reminiscent of Juston Chancellor's Wal sound.

Come on spector send all your basses to the bass channel the Ns ethos, the euros, the NS2 the squid bass with the dark glass preamp anyway this was badass was waiting for this since the Pantera covers oh hell yeah 🤘🤘
Funny enough, I had the choice between the Ethos and this one. I chose this one predominantly for the pickups and finish. Maybe Ethos next 🤞🏻

Those plastic O rings always break. Happened to my Warwick. I ended up putting real Gotohs on.
If you were to remove the preamp and go pickups straight to jack, what would the control layout look like for you? would all the knobs serve a purpose or would there be "dummy knobs"? COnsidering this bass, love EMGs, unsure about preamp based on yours and Lobster's review. Thanks!
The same thing with the tuner happened on my Ibanez when I had it like 2 months...took the ring off of my 4 string cheap bass and later got another new ring from a music store near me...didn't even charge me for it + a 3mm pick
How did you have the preamp set in this demo? Completely off or maxed out?

I'm a little bit worried about the color's loss. How it could be possibile? It shoud be a lifetime bass...it's also Spector's motto :(

That depends. German Corvette or RockBass? If RockBass, skip it and get the Spector. If German, that becomes a tougher call because German-made Warwicks feel incredible!

This is a great sounding bass but the fact that the tuners are so bad and the paint rubs off is a total deal breaker in a bass of this price range. They should have spent less money on a meme finish and instead given us the full EMG pre amp and decent tuners. Maybe it's just me but I feel there are a lot of misses with Spector lately (i.e. the neck divey NS Dimension with its weak B string). There's always some sort of major compromise unless you can splash for the full made in New York models.
Get a Warwick and put some EMG 's in it.
Is it neck-heavy? Does it dive when you let go of the neck?
No, I have a Spector, it's balansed so good, no diving a neck.
See if you can get a Schecter Model T session. Same pickups better pre amp and cheaper.
Schecter basses are slept on way too much!
I agree. Spector has been a turn off with me because I feel they cut too many corners for the price of their instruments. Even the $2,000 Ethos 5 I trialed had an underwhelming preamp. This bass would be a lot more attractive if they spent less money on a meme finish and instead gave us the full EMG pre amp and real tuners.
