I have two dogs, and they’re the joyful additions to the household. Walking the dogs is such a fun event. They all celebrate and can’t contain their joy. We walk about 2-3 miles (depends on the weather lately). It’s our quiet time to enjoy each other’s presence and nature. My government approved walks during lock down have been such a blessing. I am severely introverted, so having dogs have helped so much in opening up myself to others and other dogs.
This was so interesting as a professional dog trainer. I often train working assistance dogs so I have quite high standards and I think Kiki is so doing great 👍 the one peace of advice I would give is just be confident and keep up the training I would also teach her a good sit stay and a good recall beause its very handy in the long run for your dog to know 😊
She’s beautiful. You’ve done so much research and we’re truly prepared to welcome a dog into your lives. It’s a good message to get across, especially at this time of year. Hope you feel better soon.
This is beautiful!!!! What a lovely baby I’m so happy for you guys! What I will say is don’t let her off leash until you have bulletproof recall. As an owner of a reactive dog it isn’t great if your puppy (although they’re just being playful) runs up to my dog and there could be dogs who are on leash in training or who have come from rescues so my advice is don’t let her stay off the leash until she comes back to her name when you call her and her recall is reliable as it’s bad manners for an off leash dog to run up to a on leash dog. Also I would suggest Jackson or any of your children don’t get too close or full on when your pup has a chew. Again, not because kiki will do anything to him but it’s safer and kinder to let a dog eat in peace- although you should be able to remove a chew or toy from a dog to teach them not to resource guard, but I wouldn’t personally let my kids be all over her when she’s chewing. My advice owning all different breeds for 25 years. I hope you have the most amazing life with her she’s utterly gorgeous and I’m so pleased to see her settle in so amazingly x

I think in terms of easy and hard I would say depends on breed I have had a cocker spaniel a springer and now a sprocker our sprocker is now 6 months and it has been a crazy few months brought him home at 8 weeks and I was up every 2 hrs. Your little one is gorgeous!!!

We got a dog whistle from Amazon ,and it’s been great for recall . Our dog trainer said that voices change depending on our moods but the whistle remains the same . We trained her to the whistle just in the garden at first and it didn’t take long , with lots of praise and treats when she obeyed the whistle . It works so well now on walks ,if she goes further than our voices will carry which is really good on windy (loud) days . They hear the whistle much better than a voice and we got the pack of two which wasn’t expensive at all .
Hi, I work as a veterinary receptionist, i am not trained medically but I would honestly advise you to regularly flea and worm with prescription treatments and not Bob Martin. You can usually get a spot on monthly or a chewable beefy tablet 3monthly. And a tip for splitting tablets is the line on the pill is the line you cut down so it shouldn't fly off! 😉 love your videos and me and husband have been debating getting a dog also! X
Kiki is doing great! I got a puppy last year and although I also work from home, from an early age he went to doggy day care once a week. It's been great for him to socialise but also gives me a break and means we have another option of help instead of relying on friends and family

oh just a tip get a proper sharp poodle brush , she will soon start changing baby fur and then she will not badly. The regular brush doesn't brush till skin only surface. Also leave in conditioner, if there is a knot you spray it and then brush .

Hi Emily, I never comment on your videos but I wanted to say you are doing a fantastic job with Kiki.. I am a Veterinary nurse and she is so happy and healthy.. couple of things don't be afraid to take her to puppy classes. She will meet lots of different dogs of all shapes and sizes and it will help with her socialization loads.. keep up with vaccines and flea and worming.. parasites especially lung worm can be fatal as can parvovirus.. which is one of the diseases she is vaccinated against. So cute!!! And cuddly! X
Hi, I have a cavapoo and they are a dream. Just be very careful of the extendable lead. My neighbours puppy got killed when she was walking along the road and the clip lock failed and she ran out into the road in front of a car. Don't use it if the boys are walking her. She is beautiful 😍

I’d recommend getting a slicker brush and metal comb for her as the brush ur using isn’t ideal for Cavapoos as it doesn’t get down to the skin and freezing the kong so it keeps her occupied for longer and soothes her teeth x
Such great content. Thank you. The only thing for me you touched on was the sitting looking at you eating! It used to really bother me as a teenager with our dog when he would sit and watch me eat, so you’re right in wanting to let her stay in her crate whilst you eat otherwise they spoil your dinner as you can’t relax with them staring at you! Also don’t feed them from the table as this just encourages them to do it more. Finally I was wondering about cleaning her teeth? We used to clean our dogs teeth daily, I was quite obsessed with clean teeth myself! 😆 You’re such a natural mum and she is so lucky to have such a loving well informed family 💕
Lovely video; Kiki is absolutely adorable and is doing so well with her training! My Cavapoo is also very fussy with his food so sometimes we mix his biscuits with some warm water to soften them and make it smell more which he enjoys!

When we bought our golden retriever baby home he used to wake up every 1-2 hours for toilet during the night 😬 and bless him he was definitely more hard work in general that my human babies. Xxx
Love your video. I have a cockapoo. During the winter, we put our dog in a equafleece, it’s like a waterproof fleece for dogs, made to measure! It helps so much with the muddy paws and wet fur etc during this time of year! Also in terms of grooming, speak to your groomer about a particular brush. They will recommend a certain types for the poodley breeds. It’s so good for mats and is so gentle on their fur!

We recently got a Schnoodle (or Schnauzerdoodle), she is 9 weeks old now and your experience w/ Kiki really helped me decide to go for it, my daughter will be 12 this weekend and she's been asking for a dog since she could talk!! Kiki's personality really reminds me of Lily's personality, though Lily follows me EVERYWHERE and apparently that is very common and is the Schnauzer side of her that loves her people fiercely! lol ♥

Fun and informative video! Kiki is very cute and such a smart, chill puppy! Just a suggestion since you mentioned it in the video, our breeder said that using ceramic or plastic bowls will eliminate the tear stains - it worked for our dogs and it is an easy fix. Love your content Emily!
So lonely to watch I have 3 cockatoos and they are so similar. They love they give us amazing. My top tip would be book her in for a puppy trim and blow dry soon to get her used to it. My 3! Love a bath and the hairdryer. I swear they just jump in puddles on purpose to have a bath once a week x glad she has completed your family as they are a joy xx
This was so cute to watch, KiKi is a very lucky dog! I would just say that it’s worth looking into the worm and flea treatment you’re using and asking your vet about it. It’s normally better to get a prescription only flea treatment that definitely works. (Sorry for the unsolicited advice- I am a veterinary nurse!)

Aw loved this! We have a Kiki too 👌 Ours is 9 months and a toy poodle x miniature poodle but looks very similar to yours. They are the sweetest breed, so loving and friendly and always so happy. Very similar to you we crate trained and have left her for a little while from the off which I think really helps. She's always happy to be left. Usually walk her first and she's more than happy to have a sleep and some chill time whilst we are out. My boys are both at school and do agree, for us and our setup I'm pleased we waited until they were that much older. It's scary how much you love them and how quickly you become attached. I find it odd when she is at groomers and being at home without her. Enjoy!

I would be still going without sleep now if you didn’t show me people do do it. My little boy is now 3 months an I still try to lay him on his back an he screams black and blue. hi Emily i dont want scare you, i used pigs while teething training my 4 dogs puppies they continued to have raw hide and duck treats untill we lost our 10yr old to chocking on 1. i rushed him to our vet who is very near to us, but he couldn't do any thing; so PLEASE check out raw hide treats. she so lovely and you are All doing a great job in giving her a wonderful home

I get so nervous letting my dog off the lead, not because of him but because of other dogs. Mines only 5lbs so I just get so scared that an aggressive dog will come and I won't be able to get to him in time 😭 I wish I could because they looks so cute just prancing around! X

She is such a sweet puppy! ❤️ Please don’t use the Bob martins treatments, they are notoriously ineffective. Buy from your vet and they can even give you a spot on flea and worm treatment which would make it easier if she won’t take tablets. It will also treat lungworm which is a potentially fatal worm they can contract from slugs and snails, which the pet shop brands will not treat.

How did you toilet train her not to wee during the night. My puppy has a large play pen and his bed is in it. I put a puppy pad in there & he’s always had a wee before we get up.
That is one lucky dog. A lot of kids don't have it that good.LOL She is so so cute. Every family needs an animal . Maybe get a cat also down the road. It would be one lucky cat. ❤️💕

Our son has pet allergies also. Did extensive research and we collect our little Cavapoo on the 27th. Keep up the doggie videos.

Aw loved this! We have a Kiki too 👌 Ours is 9 months and a toy poodle x miniature poodle but looks very similar to yours. They are the sweetest breed, so loving and friendly and always so happy. Very similar to you we crate trained and have left her for a little while from the off which I think really helps. She's always happy to be left. Usually walk her first and she's more than happy to have a sleep and some chill time whilst we are out. My boys are both at school and do agree, for us and our setup I'm pleased we waited until they were that much older. It's scary how much you love them and how quickly you become attached. I find it odd when she is at groomers and being at home without her. Enjoy!

The stretchy type of leash isn't very safe. Please consider using just a regular one.

Hi Emily I know this message seems very random as nothing to do with this current video, but I really hope you read this - THANK YOU SO SO much for doing the videos on Jackson sleeping on his tummy as a baby. I would be still going without sleep now if you didn’t show me people do do it. My little boy is now 3 months an I still try to lay him on his back an he screams black and blue. He sleeps up to 4 hours on his belly an never had an issue. Thank you xx

hi Emily i dont want scare you, i used pigs while teething training my 4 dogs puppies they continued to have raw hide and duck treats untill we lost our 10yr old to chocking on 1. i rushed him to our vet who is very near to us, but he couldn't do any thing; so PLEASE check out raw hide treats.

Our lab would eat anything except his tablet. We hide it in a cocktail sausage and that helps. She is gorgeous. X
I'm getting a Cavapoo in 3 weeks and she looks like Kiki! I'd love to know where you got the fuzzy fleece dog carrier that you showed in your video when you brought her home. I didn't see that on your shopping haul items. It's perfect for the cooler weather and when she hasn't yet had all her shots and can't be walking around public places. :)

I get so nervous letting my dog off the lead, not because of him but because of other dogs. Mines only 5lbs so I just get so scared that an aggressive dog will come and I won't be able to get to him in time 😭 I wish I could because they looks so cute just prancing around! X

Please don’t use the Bob martins treatments, they are notoriously ineffective. Buy from your vet and they can even give you a spot on flea and worm treatment which would make it easier if she won’t take tablets. It will also treat lungworm which is a potentially fatal worm they can contract from slugs and snails, which the pet shop brands will not treat.
Kiki is just beautiful my dog Lexie wants to play with every dog she sees if they don't want to play with her she barks at them as to say hello i want to play🤣🤣hope you,matt,the boys&kiki are good?❤xx
How did you toilet train her not to wee during the night. My puppy has a large play pen and his bed is in it. I put a puppy pad in there & he’s always had a wee before we get up.
