So jedenfalls meine Erfahrung!

    Good evening Mickael,
    I have finished manufacturing my CNC and would like to start manufacturing my MCP.
    I made one prototype in MDF which works well with X-plane, but I'm afraid I won't find
    white acrylic panels big enough in France because the MCP measures 71 cm anyway!
    I can't find your video in which you talk about the characteristics of your acrylic sheets ...
    Can you help me find it? Could you tell me where you buy your acrylic sheet ? In Germany ?
    Are you satisfied with the quality, especially the rendering with the backlight?
    Thank you in advance for your help !

    • @Mickeys_Flightdeck
      @Mickeys_Flightdeck  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm going into this in video #30. I used 30% translucent white Plexiglas. Die backlighting comes out really good. But if you want to increase the visibility of the engravings whithout backlighting I would recommend a less translucent one. The power of the backlighting LEDs will still be strong enough. I searched for a local supplier of acrylic in my town. It is cheaper than paying high shipping costs. Maybe you find a manufacturer who can order you a sheet.

      Ich verwende 30° Gravierstichel. Keine Ahnung, was für eine Spitzenbreite der hatte. In Estlcam hatte ich den mit 0.1 mm hinterlegt. Das ergab natürlich lange Gravierzeiten. Jetzt werde ich mal welche bis rauf zu 0.3mm probieren.

    Michael I admire your tenacity but if you're going to do all these panels you need to buy a laser cutter, it would save you hundred of hours work. I can cut both those panels leaving the masking on the acrylic for the lower panel, all in 10 minutes. Then I paint them, and engrave them with the laser. finally stripping off the masked area that is simply the plastic that protects the acrylic when it's made.

    • @Mickeys_Flightdeck
      @Mickeys_Flightdeck  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lucky one. But where would be the fun, when I finish all the panels within minutes? But I'm planning to build a laser cutter in the future. Maybe this can be another interesting project.

      @@Mickeys_Flightdeck I hadn't thought of that, some more chapters of Michaels progress in this interesting story. Incidentally I wasn't trying to undermine you're undeniable talents, I just thought it may get you flying sooner.
      I imagine you know that many builders never finish their projects because over time they lose interest, but if they can get the cockpit flying it spurs them on to finish it.
      Having said that, every builder knows it's never finished anyway. There's always something that could be better, Motorise the throttle, link the yokes, change servo gauges for real ones.... it goes on!
      I'll still watch your progress with interest.
