I’m 66 & baked from scratch my whole life but never made bread like this, but that’s about to change!! Thanks for making this video & making it look so easy & delish!! Love you all ❤
You’re getting comfortable in this space. ❤ My husband and I are both 64.5 years old and learning some self sustaining things to do. Thank you, for getting out of your comfort zone and sharing and inspiring us!!!
Really enjoy your videos! I like how you show all the steps to making things, and show them to the camera for us to see up close. You have a natural talent, and the energy to do so many things, it's great. Your family is very blessed to have you, and vice versa, right? Keep 'em coming, Steph, 'cause you're doing great videos. Thanks! 🙂
I bought me a bread machine, it wasn’t an expensive one, but I can also make flavored bread in it also. And it doesn’t take very long. I think the homemade things taste so much more fresh, and they just taste better knowing u made them yourself or with ur kids. Thanks for sharing Steph 🫶🙏
Thanks for your wonderful video Steph, it’s a great pairing of the bread and the different butters recipes! I do make my own butter and I make compound butters also, I love all of them , I make honey butter also ! I love your ice water method of rinsing your butter Steph , I wasn’t taught that method , I’m 72 and was raised making butter by my momma we made it in a large mason jar and I still make it this way, but I’m gonna try it with the ice water!! I was taught to wash the butter in water in the jar after after draining the buttermilk off, and squeezing the butter between my fingers to release the left over milk draining it off and repeating the rinsing until the water was clear , then adding the salt after it drained and storing it in the fridge ! Your ice water method seems faster and easier so I’m gonna try doing it this way now !! Thanks again Steph !! I love your videos and there’s no butter that taste as good as homemade and of coarse homemade bread, yours looks yummy ! God bless , and I shared this video!! ❤️🙋🏻🙏
I just made a loaf of bread and a small lump of butter to go with our Valentine's dinner to surprise my husband. Y'all, that is AWESOME!!! I don't know if I can wait for dinner!! He may not get any...(bread and butter, folks! Keep your minds outta the gutter! Lol!) Seriously, that is the best reason to have a Dutch oven! Now, I don't have a food processor so I used my little $50 stand mixer (not a kitchen-aid) and it took around 45 minutes to make butter but it worked! I had less than a pint of heavy whipping cream left over from making cheesecakes and nothing to make with it so this was a perfect way to use it up. And, really, at no less than $4-6 per pound of butter, this is much cheaper and far tastier! Thank you so much, Stephanie, for teaching us how to make this bread, and for showing us how to make butter in such a simple way.
I love making homemade bread. Great recipes. Never thought about using my food processor to make butter, great tip. btw Buddy and Elora's father daughter dance had me in tears. It was beautiful and brought back some special memories of my (now adult, with children) daughters and their dad going to them.
When I was a little girl on the farm, it was my job to churn the butter. We also sold butter to the grocery store. It had to be molded into different sizes. I still have the churn! As I do not have access to cows this would be a great way for me to get the nostalgic taste of homemade butter. Thank you I bake breads to sell at the farm market in the summer. (it is outside and this is Michigan) but the sourdough bread I make takes 2 days minimum - this would be much easier. I bake dessert breads to sell also. Blueberry, strawberry, plum, peach etc. It is great to see the much younger generation being the keepers of these arts. Maybe some day you can show the making of farmer cottage cheese. 😊
❤Stephanie here is a trick with parchment paper... turn you pot over a❤❤❤❤❤nd mold the paper to the outside. Then you can just drop it in when the pot is hot
The memories of your homemade bread and butter are going to be a comfort for your kids when they are grown and walk into the kitchen to that wonderful smell of home 🧡💜🧡
Stephanie, just a suggestion. In baking, most people don’t realize that where you live can determine how much ingredients to add and especially how long the bake is. I used to live in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies and now I live in eastern Canada at almost sea level. A big difference in cooking time and the way sone ingredients react. People may come back and say they can’t get it to cook or taste right. And thanks for saying the weather makes a difference.
Hey, it's a one-stop shopping video! Who doesn't love fresh bread and butter? (O.k. maybe not the celiac disease or keto people!) 🤔 Anyways thanks for the faster version on both items. Watched a pawpaw video on butter making...ain't nobody got time to shake a jar for 25 minutes for butter! 😆 That microphone works well for you. It even picked up the crunch of the crust. Great video, I'm saving it and sharing it. Keep up the good work.
Oh Stephanie you have created a monster out of my daughter as she now refuse's to eat any other bread than your's. So glad you made this one I can do this one quicker. ❤❤❤
Love this video..wish I had seen this years ago. I made butter in a jar the first time this Thanksgiving. The family wasnt too impressed but it was fun.
I’ve watched Pawpaw make & teach the others how to make butter using the mason jar method. I don’t believe he puts his butter through the sieve or a water bath. But I like how you did it. Also my mom used to make bread once a week for a family of 8 kids. So she made a lot of dough all at once. She made it into loaves of bread, dinner rolls & everybody’s favorite, cinnamon rolls. Oh did the house ever smell good on bread day. Even the neighbors would come over and “break” bread with us. Those are some of my favorite memories of my childhood. I never could make bread like my momma did. But I do love to bake.
Omgosh I want a piece of warm bread and some of that fresh butter. My mouth is watering. I enjoy all your videos and Buddy's too. You both are amazing people. Thankyou for all you bring to us.
When I made butter I was 4 years old and living on my Grandmother's farm. The churn was the old fashioned "barrel" type with a rod going into the middle of the cover and was probably 2 foot tall. (I might have been 3 foot tall). I remember "churning", making the rod go up and down. I think my Mom took over after about 5-10 minutes since a 4 year old does not have a very long attention span when it comes to "farm work" like churning. 😀😀😀
OMG! I just made this bread and it is SO good!!!! My son stopped by when it was almost done and we couldn’t wait to try it…..DELISH!!!!! I cut it in thirds so I could share it with him and my daughter. I’m so glad you are sharing with us. If you ever put together a recipe and how to with all your and Buddy’s stuff in it I SURE WOULD BUY COPIES FOR EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY…..thanks so much!!!!
I have a white house cookbook that has amazing bread recipes. It's a 1898 I believe. . I have made some ,one when the kids were in school I wo I ld then cut it up and made bread pudding. They loved it and I had lots of kids showed up .
I'm not a baker but a suggestion for the buttermilk is to use an ice tray to freeze it, then bag the cubes in a ziploc bag in your freezer for individual little servings. 😉 Much love from Central Mississippi ❤️
Ooohhh.. honey butter with cinnamon... that sounds yummy...and yes, that's what I do with fresh homemade bread.. sit it cut side down on the cutting board! Great job Steph!
When picking up yeast, I found a cheese flavored yeast. When I was a kid, my great aunt would make bread and put butter and sugar on it for me. Every time I went to her place she had that treat for me
I have never made butter and now I want to try it. I love the idea of making different flavored butters! You have truly become so much more comfortable making videos. I feel like I’m in the kitchen with you! 😊
One more thing. Can’t wait until Kim gets the Farm Market up and going. You could put all your wonderful things in there. We would drive there to buy . ❤
I just love watching you and Buddy! I’m a fan of all you on Morrow Hill! I really love to see how Buddy loves and supports you….. it’s a sweet loving family! Keep the videos coming! Xo
I enjoy watching you cook/bake/garden! In my 30's I learned to cook from scratch, but then went back to work and didn't have time for all that. Now in my 60's I Need these "back to basic's, cause I have more time! So keep up the good work!
When I was a kid my grandma would make butter and bring it over. Mom would make homemade raisin bread and put grandmas butter on it. She would put icing on the top. Yummy!
Norma here. Sorry that you created an entire video and then couldn’t use it due to audio issues, but thank you so much for doing it all over again just for us. Love watching and listening to you explain all the steps you take to make such a variety of fantastic things. I already made butter Paw Paw’s way with my grandson. Tomorrow we’ll try baking bread and making butter your way, the easier way. Oh, and your kitchen is lovely and so organized. I really hope your page keeps growing because you have so much useful information to share.
As I sat watching you make the delicious bread 🍞,I listened and closed my eyes just remembering the texture ,joy of waiting for the dough to rise ,then the smell fill the house as it's cooks ,o boy nothing better ,of course getting the first slice ,yum ,funny but it's crazy how the mind can bring the delicious taste to the mouth .Thanks Step .👋💚☘️😋
I love your videos. A real authentic cook who is so detailed and organized. You are so talented in many ways. I love your stress free voice. You're like a dose of soothing medicine. You're great, Steph!
I went to culinary schools to learn to bake breads and desserts and I actually learned more from your videos then school lol. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed it
I’m definitely going to make this tomorrow! It looks delicious! I normally make sour dough bread so to change it up a bit by making a different kind will be nice! 🥰
Now I need to make butter and get a Dutch oven so I can try my hand at bread 😀😀😀😀 Thank you for such clear and easy to follow tutorials. Keep them coming. Can't wait to see how your garden comes along.
I love the powered butter milk. I use it mainly for making Irish Soda Bread once or twice a year. It keeps in the fridge for years. Like you I was always wasting the unused buttermilk. Love watching your videos!

I just got my bread out of the oven, let it cool, and cut my 1st slice... OMG, this was so good and sooo easy! (My house smells good too) I've never been good with yeast until after watching your videos! Thank you!
Stephanie have you ever made honey butter with your own honey? Now you made me hungry. It also brings back memories of my mom's homemade bread and rolls. They were so good.
As usual, I learned a lot from this video. You make bread making look so simple. It also brought back memories of churning butter with fresh cows milk with my grandmother. Your skills ard next level.
There's nothing better than fresh bread and butter. We go through a lot of bread in our house to the point I got a bread machine. In the end it's a lot less expensive and definitely tastes better than store bought. I don't make flavored butter often but my kids love cinnamon sugar butter. Homemade is always better 😁
I just bought my daughter a wooden bread bowl and Dutch dough whisk. We are going to start making our own bread. Your butters look delicious. My other daughter makes her own butter and shares. We have to get better at saving money at the store
I am really enjoying these cooking videos. The only suggestion or rather request I would have is if you could make playlists, i.e. Cooking or Gardening etc. It would make finding that particular type of video so much easier to find instead of searching all videos.
Wow what an awesome video never made bread or butter from scratch but this inspires me to go do it. Love love your videos very well done on everyone keep them rolling ❤
Love watching all your cool homemade things and baking etc. would love to be able to do this. Also love how you make sure you are telling the measurements and showing step by step. 💕
Can we all appreciate that your home probably smells like love and happiness with all of that baking?
🥰
You and Buddy are so enjoyable to watch, and are so unique! My very favorite thing is when Elora photo bombs your videos! I really love your kids!

That looks so nice, nothing nicer than the smell of homemade bread ❤
I love to make bread. The only type I have done is Sourdough Bread. Keep doing this on videos.
Stephanie have you done Sourdough Bread can you make that if you can.
Yes I have. I'll share that in the future 😄
I love making homemade bread. Great recipes. Never thought about using my food processor to make butter, great tip.

I love homemade bread and butter.
I love the powered butter milk. I use it mainly for making Irish Soda Bread once or twice a year. It keeps in the fridge for years. Like you I was always wasting the unused buttermilk. Love watching your videos!
I can hear you really well 👌
Love the butters and little jars.
Stephanie you might want to check into getting a utensil called a Danish bread whisk. It’s a game changer for stirring any kind of doughs or batters.
Enjoying your laid-back, informative videos. Keep up the good work.
Also, I make honey butter by just adding locally sourced honey. It tastes wonderful on biscuits/cornbread. But you’re lucky you’ve got your own homegrown honey.
Oh man! I need all the things! Thank you
