We have a Winner. Mitchell from Pennsylvania WON. I contacted him and I wanted to thank all of you for being a part of this and I plan to do lots more.
I am not a fan of their Headstock. I've played em , compared to the Gibson's I use,, well there TRYING to be better, I don't see many PEOPLE using them.
@@jimkostan9932 ok, so the plural of Gibson doesn’t need an apostrophe, and you mean “they’re.” With that out of the way: what $899 Gibson semi hollow are you using? Or are you comparing a $900 guitar to a $3k guitar? It’s fair if you don’t like the headstock, but the rest of your comment is weird. I only ever see Gibson guys doing this. There’s never fender guys online deriding other brands. PRS players don’t need to hit up every video to talk about how that guitar isn’t as good as theirs. Something about Gibson fans…probably that they’ve bought wildly overpriced lifestyle brand products that aren’t produced with much care…

From Leo: I bought an SS model a couple years ago. It was like you found, well built, great tones, great job on the finish and it came with a great set up. I am a person that changes set up, pickups and parts if I don't love it. I have changed nothing on my d"Angelico, and am pleased every time I pick it up. Totally happy.
Hey there! Just wanted to say that I appreciate all that you do for the guitar community and I have learned so much from watching your channel. Would be so awesome to add a D' Angelico to my guitar collection. Keep up the awesome work. Thank you for all you do.
I’ve played one of these guitars…they’re some of the best on the market with a bright, crisp full sound. One of the most versatile. Thanks for giving us a chance to win. Awesome 👏
WOW! Now that is a sweet guitar! Aesthetically, tones, and the overall quality and price makes this a no brainer . Excellent choice Phil . And two big thumbs up for Sweewater in supplying this beaut! The winner won't be able to stop smiling til way into the new year.
I was pleasantly surprised with the sound of the guitar. Good to hear a trusted review, and why have I taken so long to subscribe to your channel. I thought I already had.
I've always liked the Art Deco look of D'Angelico guitars. That's a real beauty, and sounds great. Good on Sweetwater for making the guitar available as a giveaway! Phil, I can feel your pain on not being able to keep the guitar. Time for me to enter the drawing!
Great to see D'Angelico getting a lot of love. I met the owners at Aspen in 2018 and they were the nicest people. I played a prototype they had there, which was very similar to this guitar.
I've been playing guitar for over 50 years. I have played Gibson, Fender, Martin but always wanted a D'Angelico. Give to me an give it a great home... Thanks Michael
I’ve been eyeing one of these up before you posted this..! Man that would be badass to win! I put in my entry’s and now I’m just anxiously awaiting Fridays podcast! Of course I liked the video and have been a subscriber for about 2 1/2 years. I came across your page when I was in the market for a new to me American Stratocaster, your video gave me the confidence to buy a used American Strat and I succeeded in getting what I was looking for.. I’ve since moved on from that Strat and have another one I was fortunate enough to buy brand new.. but when I got that first Strat, it wasn’t set up quite the way I wanted it to be and I couldn’t afford to have a luthier go through the guitar so I studied up on your videos and dialed it in on my own and ever since then, I refuse to have anyone set up another guitar for me every again. I love dialing in my guitars and doing all of my own upgrades/ adjustments and whatever else! It’s the other fun part of guitar and Knowing Your Gear! You’re doing the guitar community a real solid Phil, thanks man! Now if I could my hands on a blonde D’Angelico that would be lovely haha. Take care
Nice job on this contest Phil! I love that you're so generous with these things and that you get involved in the details (strap, stand, know your gear case candy) I'd love to gift this to my son but, I will be happy for whoever wins it!
To me, this is the most interesting model in D’Angelico’s lineup. It offers something unique beyond their (extremely cool) art deco style. Smaller guitarists can finally have a 335-style guitar without looking silly! I really like the concept, and it seems like they did well in terms of fit and finish!
I own a D’Angelico premiere Brighton that bought from Sweetwater, it plays beautifully. With coil split in both pickups. Service from Sweetwater is the best.
Not only is the wood on that guitar look beautiful, but the overall fit and finish of it looks fantastic. Great sounding pickups too! Such a versatile and beautiful work of functional art for a great price… I am definitely going to have to look into these guitars in the near future. Thank you so much for the exceptional review.
I gotta say, they really chose a great pickup combo for this guitar. Compliments it quite nicely. I never really gave D'Angelico a good look before, but I think I will from now on.
I've looked at this brand's guitars many times and though about pulling the trigger on something but I like this even more. Thanks for showing it and offering the giveaway!
Well on that note you've never had a Godin Radium Winchester brown RN which is a Telecaster on steroids. So how about it will we see the Godin? Inquiring minds want to know. You are a highly respected guitar reviewer and everyone highly respects and values your opinion. I eagerly await the upcoming video 😮.
I just got Matt, the D Angelico guitar that is very much like my gibson 330, except it has no F holes. It is hollow/or semi hollow, I don’t know if it has a solid block down the center like a 335 has,.. it came with a hard case , it has a six way pick up selector toggle. I can switch between single coil and hum bucker. The fit and finish are excellent. The headstock is a work of art. it was set up perfect at the factory.. mine is a satin finish blue.. I cannot describe the sound of these pick ups, so I will let the indescribable remains so.. I have been playing guitar since the 1960s. This is the finest group tomorrow I have ever owned.

Not going to lie, I've always loved the D'Angelico headstock design.
I have a D'Angelico Excel DC- it is a spectacular guitar in every way. Love it.
Nice art deco headstock. The truss rod cover reminds me of the Chrysler Building in NYC.
