    Not sure what’s going on with Go pro these days … same happens to mine even when it’s not inserted in the go pro 10 , these batteries aren’t even a year old . I’m hoping go pro send you new ones for this and fix or manufacture better batteries that last ! Thanks for bringing this up Phil hopefully they are watching !

      It's a pain in the ass, that's for sure. Nah, GoPro won't send me new batteries, I don't even want to waste my time emailing them, those went straight into the recycling bin. Good video Philip. Yes, that's really annoying. Have the same problem on the GPH8 or another annoyance, you film with it, 3 or 4 shots then it won't turn on unless you remove the battery, which is a real pain when attached to a gimbal. I love GoPro cameras but the reliability is poor and of the 4 I have owned each one has had a problem including 2 that I sent back.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's very annoying Mark, especially the price we pay for these cameras. GoPro should really pull their finger out and sort out the battery problems and the live feed when recording, if Insta360 and DJI can do it, I'm sure they can.

    • @PhillipSkraba

      It's such a nightmare, it drives me loopy! Remember there is no PD charging on the GoPro, so if you tried charging with a fast charger, it'll sit at 0%. The DJI Action 3 on the other hand, fast PD charging to 80% in 18 mins, and it holds the charge incredibly well, after a month it's usually at 96% on mine. Some of these help a little to keep that battery charged, fingers crossed GoPro sort this frustrating problem out.

      It seems a lot of people I talk to have had the exact same problem, and I had to do quite a few tests to see if this works, and at the moment it seems like the best bet, a little annoying as you have to turn wireless back on when using the app, and remember to turn it off again when turning the GoPro off. It's just small things like this that are making the GoPro sit on the shelf, which is a shame as it's a classic.

    Yap GP is junk, have 11 and battery drains, also when I put the cable back to charge it, it will not start charging nor will it even turn on... My GP8 and 6 used to freeze and corrupt about 40% of the footage - wasn't a card issue.

      @Phillip Skraba DJI does stay fully charged, to the other extreme. Finding Mini 3 Pro batteries often fail to do a "smart" discharge, similar to Mini 2 issue we had last year. We don't need a complete discharge; down to "50-60% over time would be perfect.

    vendors ALL lie about battery life.
    Well, they technically don't lie.... they do marketing magic.
    They do lab testing that is 100% non-real world and then they use that nice sounding 'data' and put it into marketing hyperbole that misleads the consumers.
    For example, my DJI OA3 - which I really do like.
    as you see they say it get 160 minutes, which is 2.67 hours. Shooting 4k/60 I get 1.5 hours which is what about 56% of what they say? And I have 4 NEW batteries and the story is the same on each of them.
    But not to pick on DJI
    My new Ford 150 truck is stated to get 17/21 mpg. What do I get? 13 city IF I drive like a grandma. If I use sport mode and drive normal it is more like 10 mpg.
    and on and on and on... goes the marketing lies.
    Or how about pharmaceutical company lies? ....don't get me started.
