- This plow plane came to me from UK and was find at flea market. Quite rare find because of single screw fence regulation. Both arms had a crack so i decided to change them. If your'e interested how i made them, watch till the end. Thank you for your time.
Cheers!
If you have any questions just leave a comment.
BTW. I don't take orders and usually i don't sell my planes.

Absolutely breathtaking!
I like the way you made it obvious what was new, and left the original with much of its patina. By not trying to disguise the repairs you have somehow made the original look more genuine. 👌
We are witnessing in this video the work of a true master craftsman. It is such a pleasure to watch Stavros use hand tools with such astounding precision and artistry. For this artist, the chisel is his paintbrush, and the wood is his canvas.
Woodworking is a great medium. You can feed your family with it and make your own shelter.
Thanks Russ!
Hi Stavros, the precise work and craftsmanship is really breathtaking. Thanks for the hours of hard work and documentation that let us witness these skills.
I‘m a passionate woodworker, but this is just pure mastership.
Thank you Adrian :)
I should jolly well think so! Now don't you DARE let it get into that state again! 😄
Beautiful restoration of a beautiful tool by a master craftsman.
Thank you Ron!
I'm so glad you are not here in Florida, I couldn't possibly compete with your work.....yet!!! All kidding aside, I use your videos as tutorials and you have inspired me to reach higher levels with my own work.
The sound of wood being cut with a razor sharp blade is on of my favourite sounds. Awesome job
Когда нож рубанка острый как бритва, то он свистит в работе. Самый приятный звук.
When the plane knife is sharp as a razor, it whistles in operation. The most pleasant sound.
Thank you Bradley!
Beautiful as usual. I truly hope that people understand how much time is actually spent on these projects. You only show a fraction of the time spent. Not to mention the amount of time spent mastering these skills. From one craftsman to another, Bravo.
Keep up the great work.
Greetings from the high plains of Texas.
Only my wife knows how many hours i spent in my workshop :) Cheers Ryan!
@@StavrosGakos I am jealous. Mine hates my shop.
Laying in hospital bed with broken Femur, your video is perfect therapy, looking forward to eventually getting back into my workshop. Every one of your videos is a little gem
Hey Trevor, i wish you quick recovery! All the best for you, Cheers!
It lives again! Great work! I like that you buy or obtain hand planes to use and not just to collect. I am that way as well. I find it so satisfying to restore discarded tools. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Doug, every plane should work not catch the dust 😉
Beautiful work and so happy to see an “Old Veteran” back in harness!
We are so blessed to watch you work. Often we see you use the bench to control the wood so that each stroke of the tool is maximized. Your videos are so well put together, with wonderful content. Your hard work editing and setting up what we see is so inspiring. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you Karol :)
Amazing tool sir it just makes you wounder👏👏how some one can come up with amazing ida wow mazing uk
That snap of a finger is really magical.. still enjoying your works and craftsmanship..
I subscribed to this channel about a week ago, and am truly fascinated by the work he does on classic practical tools
Nice restoration
Beautiful piece, I have seen one in a monastery at Meteora. They had many old carpentry tools on display. The one I saw had the threaded rod made out of wood. Beautiful tool!
Thank you :)
Beautiful work!
Hey Donna, thank you!
Wonderful demonstration of why working with hand tools is so satisfying! Thanks!
You're welcome :)
I found one at a flea market similar to this. It has sliding wedges for fence adjustment. The depth stop had the same bent brass inlayed nut. Because of you and the detail you give in each of your videos, I was inspired to restore it last year. It has become one of my favorite planes. Thank you Stavros for inspiring me.
Glad to read it :) Cheers!
What a lovely plow! Gives me a few ideas for when I eventually make a second one
You really know how to sharpen your tools :-), grate end grain cuts. All over, nice project.
Thanks Razvan 👍
Nice demonstration, thanks
You have turned a old wore out plow plane into a thing of beauty and made it functional again, bravo.
Thank you Berl :)
Stavros, one word, Gifted. Thank for making these videos.
You're welcome Stan :)
Planes are beatiful tools, especielly in the hands of a craftsman!
Another beautiful restoration. Congratulation.
Once again woodworking with the precision of a machinist.
That is a wonderful old (new) plane! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Dale!
Beautiful job. Darlington, South Carolina
Was about to go to my shop Stavros when I saw this notification so I sat back down. I guess cleaning up the shop can wait for a bit.
Haha thank you :)
I love the old tools and the repair, restoration is top quality as always.
Thanks Andrew :)
Najprzyjemniej ogląda się, jak narzędzie dostaje drugie życie! Piękna robota!
Dzięki, pozdrowienia :)
very nice Stavros
what was once old and not very usable
is transformed into an everyday using tool
love the curved grip on the heel end of the body.
your vids are a pleasure to watch, no music, no talking
let the tools speak for themselves.
Thanks again Scott :)
Very nice job.
A tool like that would probably have been constructed by an artisan as he completed his apprenticeship, hence the decorative molding.
I love old handmade tools.
I've collected several old planes, found in my barns and been given a couple by neighbours. Some complete, some not.
All very well worn.
Yeees, Gakos! Oh I love planes as much as I love my life! This plough plane came out stunning. Congrats Gakos!
Danke ihnen
Wieder ein sehr interessantes Video. Einfach fantastisch mit welcher Präzision sie so ein altes Stück wieder zu neuem Glanz verhelfen
I love this fix, great job!
Very much enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
It looks great! Another wonderful restoration!
I'm somewhat baffled why are you haven't got at least 500,000 subscribers by now. Your work and video presentations are excellent. Your hand skills remarkable. You managed to create a beautiful item from scratch. Thank you for these videos.
Thank you Mark!
Renowacja z tunningiem. Zacnie! 👍
Fantastic as always Stavros, a joy to watch. Thanks. Regards Jim UK.
Hey Jim, thank you :) Cheers!
She sure looks good with her new shoes on.
I love all your videos!
Thank you
I'm glad for it :) thank you Tyler!
Wow. I wish I could do a fraction of what you can do with a chisel. The wood almost seems to melt away under your blade. Very, VERY well done indeed.
Amazing restoration!!!
Awesome, nice to have an old tool back in action.

Well done! It is a pity that so many fine tools get thrown away when there are so many folks who would lovingly restore them.
Beautiful Job as always Stavros , hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas 🎄 best wishes for the New year.
Thanks Roy! Happy new year!
Amazing work, man! It turned out fantastic! 😃
It would be fantastic if every old tool could have a second chance like this!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank a lot :) Cheers!
Great work as always! I just recently restored a wedge arm plough plane, but i had no luck with the screws! They all broke off in the end I got most of the screws out the rest of the hole I had to put thicker screws.
That's pity, i think that bigger screws was good choise in that situation 👍Cheers!
Outstanding work Stavros!
Thanks Doug!

Thank you and welcome :)
Amazing, just keeping and restoring the brass hardware made this a great find. Great work, I remembered when you made the plane to make dovetails. Will you try and match the color of the main plane?
Thanks Paul, nope, i'm gonna leave it as on the video or maybe i'll put another coat of antique oil. Cheers!
