Should I sharpen my Mukoumachi-Nomi any differently? Specifically the front. I bought a used one and the front face of the edge is convex. Thanks in advance.

Outstanding presentation, have seen the block applied before ibota and the rounding of the back surfaces of the blade, but unfamiliar with the anticlogging compound. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your video. Tell me please. What kind of stones do you use for sharpening? King? What is the granularity of the stones in turn? 800 grit, 1000 grit, 3000 grit, 8000 grit? Thank you. Regards.
I believe that is mineral toothpaste powder. It is a gentle exfoliating elixir that polishes the surface. I have seen other Asian carpenters use this method to make the final stage polish. That’s why you see almost perfect mirror looking surface.

The handles on my set of chisels were pretty dry to start with...so the rings just needed a little tap and the ends of handles soaking for a few hours in shallow water, enough to expand... they arrived well sharpened, certainly better than usual chisels...I have sharpened those I have used, but not to the extent that they could be used to amputate my fingers in one go...and that’s fine for me...lol...like someone else stated...if I want to cut paper, I’ll use a Stanley Blade...👍🏻
Now, I know you a great woodworker, but i need to know if this same process can be used by a bladesmith like me when i am putting an edge on blades that i make
Of course it can. The japanese sharpening stones and process are the very best. Japanese swordsmiths are the true OG when it comes too truely sharp and durable blade weapons. Just think samurai sword. 🤙
Sorry body.... I understand the wax to prevent the polishing on the bottom of the chiesel. But what Is the White Powder??? Isn't write in the comment...

Great tool, great job. Thank you for the visual preparation for the work of the Japanese chisels. 👍
The title of this video should be "How to sharpen your tools like a master super saiyajin pro carpenter"
Well done as usual!! ❤❤

Beautiful new tools, dude. Really interesting the process! Thanks! 😊
If I wanted to cut paper I would use a Stanley blade.

What happens when you sharpen it down to the hollowed out area on the back? Do you get a curved edge?
Learned a ton
🙏 thanks!!!
It is unfortunate that all the products are not available in the US through your links.

Can I ask why you don't flatten the whole back and just a small part? Won't that affect performance?
It is flattened, Japanese chisels have a deliberate hollow in the back.
Is the white powder just white compound? What is that?
Cirium oxide. Polishing powder 👍🏼
Great explanation!
At 1:58 the filed gradient towards the blade or to the back?
Regards, Jan

Hello, at 5:00 in your video, what is the white stone you apply to edge of the brown stone. Does it prevent build up along the edge?
I think he uses wax to elevate the chisel tip just a tiny bit. A theory though
what type of oil do you apply at the end?
which wetstones do you have?
what is the brand/manufacturer of the chisels? great video. thank you/ ありがとうございます
You wont get them, in B & Q.....

Where can you get a sharpening stone station/pond like yours?
What is grid number?? What was that powder??

Este vídeo pode ser muito útil. Porém ele não serve de nada. Os procedimentos não são explicados. Não se sabe o porquê de tudo.
Thank you. I am not a job either, so this helps.

Hello, Which brand of chisels are these? Thanks.
I didnt think u could improve Japanese perfection in chisels. He can....
Plz also guide me to how to build a perfect tablesaw......

I can understand having to hone them up. But is all the stuff with the hoop really necessary?
It's better to set your own mushroom from the outset. Or your day-to-day use will create a wobbly one 😂
