    In this video i'm gonna build my version of infill joiners mallet wich is inspired by Henry Studley's mallet. I was thinking about this projects for long time.
    For the wooden parts i used pear wood (and boxwood wedges), metal shell is made from high carbon steel and brass. As the finish i used antique oil.
    Cheers!

      Beautiful. A mallet is on projects list, so thanks for this video.
      Though, there's something missing in this video - stamping your name.
      Would you mind posting some rough dimensions? Thanks

    • @StavrosGakos
      @StavrosGakos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Artur! To be honest i don't know the dimentions, i made it by eye 🙂 but if you want i can send you it via Instagram. Cheers!

    Testing at the end of the video: This is where I glue leather pads on the ends of the handles of every chisel I own. :) Another beautiful project, beautifully done. What a masterpiece!

    • @MadMulberry
      @MadMulberry 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I glue the leather to one face of the mallet, but same thing achieved.
      Do you do smooth side in or out?
      I find that the adhesive sticks better to the smooth side, so that's what I do. Doesn't look as good but lasts longer.

    Another great production, both of the mallet and the video. All steps were clear, aided by occasional sensible labels such as type of wood.
    And what a relief to not have to listen to overly enthusiastic blabbering commentary like we see from some countries, and just focus on the images.

    you are absolutely one of my favorite makers on youtube. I have learned from your past videos to wait until you are finished when making a project. There were a few times during the construction that I thought "where is he going with this or why is he doing it that way?" Then it always comes out great in the end.
