    Hi Abby, could you maybe do a video about how food companies influence scientific research to make their foods sound healthy? Like Coca Cola funding scientific research. Or the heart and stroke foundation’s role in demonizing cholesterol? I know our food science is different in Canada than the US. But a lot of us Canadians get our information from us sources as well. Everyone is demonizing something. Some try to demonize meat, others demonize diary and other demonize carbs. Generally, everything is fine in moderation. And for some people, especially people who menstruate, it's hard to keep iron levels up with a vegetarian diet (also because animal iron is easier for the body to absorb) and for us in the north it's good with the vitamin D in milk. I like veggies. I like fruit. All is good. Eat varied and get all the good micronutrients.

    Stinging nettle arguably one of the most inflammatory edible plants in the world becomes one of the most effective anti-inflammatory medicines in the world when boiled down. I'm a 12 ibuprofen on my heavy cramp days kinda gal, two mugs of the stuff is more effective than the pain killers. It's in most dandruff shampoos for that reason. I'd like to hear his argument against that.

      People are liking this post? This is wild. Ibuprofen is incredibly hard on kidneys. If you see a doctor id let them know how much Ibuprofen you are taking and see what they say. You need to have tests on your kidneys to make sure they are still in good function. I had an acute kidney injury and was on dialysis, it's not fun. I can assure you my Kidneys are fine. I only ever had to take that much one day out of the month. I always made it a point not to take any pain meds at any other time of the month. @@nathanshackelford7812 I guess I should try to be more clear about that ;) Oh yeah I highly recommend it. I pick it fresh, but if its purchased you want to get the medicinal grade bulk stuff. @@mxlumx123 i do the carnivore diet and i look at it like this. Do whatever you have to, to feel good. What works for one person might not work for the next. Now with that being said, yes animals are being killed for food even for vegan food. You have to kill a lot of animals for soy beans. Every mouse, ground squirrel, rabbit, snake, bird, turtles and the list goes on and on when they plow the field. Then they come in and spray the hell out of the crops with pesticides. This is the facts that a lot vegans choose to ignore

    • @mxlumx123
      @mxlumx123 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@1meropet1 we do not ignore it and we do know it. Actually, now there are "veganic crops" to mitigate that. What happens as that you do not know the real meaning of veganism. Veganism is an ethical principle that rejects animal exploitation for human purposes. Is like abolitionism for other animals slavery, like we did with humans once. The same logic, the same principles. We do not aim at ending all animal's death at all cost. We extend our moral consideration to those who, like us, have basic interests, sentience, active nervous system, self-concious and moral value (dignity) which means that their life matters to them even if it do not matter to the rest. Because of that is pretty ilogic that we do and we murder arbitrary who we want. Because you guys forget that, that when you decide, because it is a choice, because you can live a heatlhy life not eating animals and this "carnivore" trend has many flaws and will be a health mess in a future and will fall and crash by its own weight (the communitues and people who have lived the most have been plant-based), when you decide to be a carnivore or a omnivore, you are taking someone elses life. It is not a simole choice wheter I like vanilla or chocolate, it involves the whole existence of someone who wanted to live just like you. It is about empathy but unfortunately, there is something called "adopted psicophatic behavior", "banality of evil" and "cognitive dissonance" that all of you, who hate vegans, becuase it reminds you of all the terrible things you do to animals, are trapped in. And because I am a philosopher, Inunderstand ethics and therefore I am vegan, but I would accept the truth that some people need only meat and animal derived foods to live a heatlhy life, as a necessity, just when there is scientifically and nutritional evidence to that. However, that is not the case, and I bet you have not lived your entire life and "carnivore". If you do not need to take a human life to survive, because we are animals too, Indo not understand how you need to take another animal's life.

    • @DuckFanDane
      @DuckFanDane 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What most people say in carnivore communities is explain why carnivore works and how to be successful BUT do what works best for you. We are not like vegans because we dont act like we are better than everyone else . Also vegan food if you are vegan is killing animals also. So no vegans are not saving animals and not always in the most humane ways. We know we are killing animals but we do it in most humane ways we can.

    Cutting out seed oils and eating a heavy meat diet has really helped my husband with his autoimmune issues. This doesn't mean eating this way is for everyone or for "long term". He eats some fruit and veggies, nuts and seeds, and rice and bread sparingly but the bulk of his diet is meat, eggs, dairy, (and yes he does eat almost 2lbs of meat, eggs, dairy, per day.)
    He has less bowel issues and has bms fine, even when he was more strict in the beginning (just meat and dairy basically).

      From my understanding, refined seed oils are processed at extremely high temperatures, with harsh chemicals used to deodorize them. It is this processing that negatively impacts the seed/vegetable fats and can cause harmful effects on health. So if using oils, better to use unrefined/cold pressed oils.

    I’ve struggled with massive inflammation for most of my adult life along with a host of other disorders. With everything I have tried, from pills to diet to exercise, nothing…and I mean NOTHING has given me relief the way eating a meat and fat based diet has.
    My hair stopped falling out, my mood has stabilized, my sleep is good, increased energy, brain fog lifted, all gastrointestinal issues have vanished. I could go on. I’ve also lost over 30 pounds while eating until I am full and never starving myself.
    I started with a 30 day challenge and just kept going. I’m so glad I did! 🥩♥️.

      From my understanding, the reason you are experiencing these benefits is you’re essentially following an elimination diet, and there is nothing to trigger a reaction in your gut. But if you look at the strongest science this diet isn’t sustainable in the long term (for you or the planet), could put you at risk for a host of diseases and will damage your microbiome. The major issue here is not the overall safety profile of a given vegetable or fruit. It's about the individuals needs. While these fruits and veggies are generally safe, some people are sensitive to things like lectins and oxalates, and it can cause gastrointestinal distress. A great starting point for anyone with food allergies is to start carnivore and slowly expand your food profile to include the fruits and veggies that your body can tolerate. This can take time as some allergies may take weeks to present.
    It's probably not advisable for everyone to stay on this type of diet, however some people have done it quite successfully, such as Owsley Stanley, the former sound engineer for the grateful dead. He was a strict carnivore for 50 years and had minimal health concerns. He died at age 76 from an automobile accident, so we can't say just how long he would haver lived, but to make it to your mid 70's in good health on such a restrictive diet is fascinating.
    There was another gentleman whose name I can't remember lived solely on a diet of white bread cooked in fatback(pork fat). When I saw the news article on him he was already in his mid 80's and no health issues according to his doctors. These are anecdotal, but it shows that some people are most likely genetically wired for this. Some people do well on a vegan diet, others get sick and go back to eating meat.

    15 months now eating only red meat and eggs, and my health/metabolic markers have never been better.. Kind of flies in the face of what you have to say about red meat??? I lost over 150 pounds, reversed type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, low testosterone, arthritis issues, autoimmune issues, and was able to come off of all medications... Before carnivore I was over 400 pounds, I was on the highest dose of BP med I could take, and still uncontrolled. I could barely walk more than 2k steps in a day, and couldn't walk the next day due to pain if I did. I have fused left ankle, arthritis in both knees, my hip, my low back, my hands, and all the vertebra in my neck. My cholesterol was high, and Doctors tried to put me on a statin which almost killed me by damaging my kidneys. 15+ months of eating meat and eggs, lowered my total cholesterol by 17 points, lowered my LDL by 25 points, raised my HDL by 10 points, and lowered my triglycerides by 113 points. My kidney function improved from 80% to 90% and I can now walk more than 28 thousand steps in a day. My inflammation markers went down not up like you claim. My cholesterol went down not up as you claim. My A1c went from 7+ to 4.9. I have regular stools without the need for bulk fiber, and I don't eat any carbs, fruit, or vegetables. Yet I feel better look better, and my labs all come back better than before I was carnivore... What's more impressive is I am not alone in my results. There are thousands of others that have adopted a meat only or meat based diet and are having the same results. But to listen to you, red meat is the devil and should be moderated or avoided at all costs. I think I will listen to my labs, and the way my body feels and just eat the steak. Also, the whole environmental play claiming red meat consumption is bad for the environment, just ignorant. I think or at least hope you are more intelligent than that. Cheers.

    Dr. Saladino is an intelligent doctor and savvy entrepreneur. He has shown remarkable levels of curiosity and flexibility as he has watched his own blood work and decided to add back in easy to digest carbs in the way of fruit and honey.
    I can relate as I have never felt better eating lots of fruits, lean proteins including organ meats and eggs, while completely avoiding alcohol and grains.
    Paul references studies repetitively throughout his podcast and he has shown how his own blood work has improved greatly adding back in fruit and honey. He leads a low stress life and gets plenty of exercise outdoors. We all have a great deal to learn from Paul.

So is that wrong?

      I think it's a transit time to absorbtion rate issue. Only certain parts of your small and large intestines absorb certain nutrients. If you have more protein than your body can absorb through the gut lining before peristaltic movement moves it past that point and you poop it out. This is how I was thinking about it. Hope that helps.

      I was borderline, vegan/vegetarian for almost 10 years and this is my personal testimony. It almost killed me.
      Since about 2021 I was silently battling with a very weird and strange symptoms and health concerns. Started with my heart. I was straight up having heart, flutters, palpitations, arrhythmias and random racing heart. It was the point I couldn’t even laid back on my left or right side without experiencing these things so it was positional.
      Ethan seem like it was also affecting my breathing on my lungs. I then began started getting the worst and severe depression and anxiety attacks I’ve ever had in my life. I was getting numbness and tingling in my hands and feet and I’d have these outer body experiences and episodes that would land me in the hospital. I was having the strangest and alarming sensations , that would come in waves and weird episodes through my body. I can’t even articulate what it felt like it was just a strange sensation that I couldn’t verbally communicate how it felt beyond that.
      These episodes, inserted, coming in different variations where it’s almost like somewhere in my abdomen it’s like someone was grabbing and contracting my organs as if they weren’t processing and it was very alarming and scary. I had a laundry list of other symptoms happening and I couldn’t sleep fatigue felt like death , I was getting out of my sleep, etc. I was actually feeling suicidal because it was just getting worse by the day and I was seeing Dr. after doctor after doctor and no one can help me or even figure out what it was after all the testing. I can’t believe nobody Even offered to offer more test beyond what we are already testing for no one ever offered for auto immune or diabetes, or even look at the food I was eating.
      Because Vegan vegetarian has been sold to us like it’s healthy. It’s the best way to live and eat and it’s absolutely not because we’re missing essential nutrients that we get from real raw animal meat. Fuck the environment, the Earth and planet we live on there are cycles to life you think ti And wild animals are concerned about the environment when they’re eating for survival like we used to do before food was as easily accessible to us as it is now? Not to mention how terrifyingly processed. Most all the food is this is not natural or normal. It’s dust and chemicals, pesticides, GMO‘s, synthetic colors, and all sorts of other bullshit that were consuming and if you think that’s not affecting you or your health you’re absolutely wrong And delusional.
      I went to a doctor that I was going to get brain mapping and the same doctor just so happen to be also an nutritionist not that consultation. He told me no we’re not gonna do the Brain mopping what we’re gonna do instead is change your diet. I was so confused… He told me we’re going to put you on a very strict diet of water, salt, and red beef. I for a second thought how weird this sounded but I was desperate and I was seriously slowly dying and on the other side of the coin I said OK what do I have to lose? I’ve been trying everything else and I know that I need Releaf immediately or I’m gonna die.
      The nutritionist believes that the food I was eating was causing massive. Inflammation to a lot of my organs and body which was causing my health issues and concerns and they were very serious. It was to the point. It got so bad it put me out of work I was bedridden, and ER in hospital visits became a normal part of my weekly routines.
      You guys I was “eating clean and healthy a plant-based diet” the first week adopting the carnivore diet was literally like a detox. It was not exactly fun I was very weak, I was fatigued I had diarrhea I was throwing up it’s called the adaptation period but simultaneously for the first time in years when no one could help me or even offer relief I immediately was getting relief from my symptoms. By week two I felt incredible and a lot of my symptoms were already going away!
      By week three, five and six, I was just feeling better and better and better, and all of my health concerns and issues had virtually disappeared. God‘s honest truth and this is my personal testimony. I’m not a doctor. I can’t explain this, but when people are out here talking about how dangerous or unsure, they are of a kind of or diet, who haven’t had to go through it themselves, or even tried it , I’m not listening these people and you shouldn’t either. I even went and did my own research to see if this was safe because believe me this was ass backwards from what I thought was healthy or holistic, but the gods, honest truth it saved my life. I’ve not been carnivore for almost 4 months and during that time I did loosen up a little bit and I was adding different things that I wasn’t supposed to, and my symptoms came back immediately with Revengeance
      The good news is all I had to do was cut it out of my diet and stick strictly to the carnivore diet. Believe me, it’s not ideal it’s not the diet I would prefer, but to save my life, my health, and when I tell you, I have seriously never felt better more live more awake more alert That’s the gods, honest truth. I didn’t even know I had brain fog and about two weeks into the carnivore diet. I was naturally waking up at five and 6 AM with no alarm I was alive I was awake. I was alert and I was ready to be up for the day full of energy. That’s never happened to me before in my life. The anxiety lifted I have not had one anxiety attack, the depression and the mood swings stopped. I feel like I am more healthy now than I’ve ever been in my entire life and the best part is I didn’t have to take any pharmaceutical bullshit drugs.

They mention the beneficial parts of plant based diets, without addressing the negatives at all. The anti nutrients in these foods offset a ton of the benefits. Interventional studies are pretty clear on that. The problem with nutritional studies, is that so much of it is based off of observational epidemiology. So saying saturated fats = heart disease, is a huge stretch because of the healthy user bias on that study. So, Abbey reads trashy magazines and takes "medications." Why does she need medications and supplements if her diet is so healthful? She's also unaware that carbohydrates are not essential to human nutrition. Paul is not a carnivore and is not an example of proper human nutrition. Furthermore, an eleven hour eating window is not exactly intermittent fasting. Abbey is promoting "several" meals per day, which leads to blood sugar swings and inflammation. As far as "major authorities," the American College of Cardiologists no longer recommends reducing saturated fat in the diet. That was published in their journal more than two years ago. The article stated that saturated fat is not implicated in heart disease and may even be protective against stroke. Maybe Abbey should try reading that instead of "Us" magazine. Regarding environmental impact, agriculture (growing crops) is harmful to the environment. Actually, the "main concern" about anti-nutrients in plants foods is the increase in autoimmune diseases. It's irresponsible for Abbey to claim that nightshades have anti-inflammatory effects, when the opposite is true. Fact: humans evolved eating meat. Farming is a fairly recent innovation and is not the ancestral, species appropriate diet. Anyone watching this should be aware that "associated with" does not mean causation. There is no evidence proving that red meat is harmful in any way. The only absolutely true thing she said is to be careful whose nutritional advice you take.
    If you want accurate information, ignore both Paul and Abbey. A good source to start with would be Dr. Ken Berry.

    A lot of these people who claim that red meat isn't inflammatory advocate exclusively for fresh grass fed meat. They tell us that the studies we have on red meat don't differentiate between a lean grass fed steak and say a heap of bacon or spam or a big mac and they say that it's these processed and grain fed meats that are inflammatory. Abbey I would love to hear your opinion if there could be truth to these claims based off the research we have?

      Yes. I would think the diet and health of the animals would be a factor in the carnivore diet. I eat meat occasionally and definitely get that energy boost when I do. But I would not argue against someone's anecdotal improvement of their symptoms.
