As someone with celiac disease i am so so sick of seeing influencers rant and rave about how bad gluten is and how inflammatory it is. like it’s only bad for you if you have celiac or are intolerant!! they have made my life harder because everyone now thinks my strict gluten free diet for my health is just a silly little trend.

ehh, not entirely true. it can be super inflammatory to the gut and isn't good for the thyroid. doesn't mean it should be feared, but also definitely isn't healthy. but i agree, it makes people who have a proper and even life threatening disease taken less seriously. i'm sorry for that.

@@alexiskashner8113 the problem is now we think just Tati's viewpoint is upsetting you. I have a friend who has celiac. I don't eat wheat. It makes me feel like crap on the inside and then I get tummy cramps. And while I have tummy cramps my tummy is literally shaped like a basketball and I fart for hours afterwards.
I might not have celiac, but let me tell you, I don't eat wheat products because I don't want to turn into a screaming banshee chained to my bed.
It's clear my body does not digest wheat well. Me not eating wheat has nothing to do with your disease and it should not bother you. If it does, that's your problem. I'll still not eat wheat, and you'll still have celiac.

Abbey I just wanted to say thank you. I have been learning SO much from you. Just today I was desperately craving a drumstick cone. I had one left in the freezer. They are usually only for my kids. They are certainly a fear food for me. I remember what you said about overeating other foods instead of just eating what you actually want. I realized that instead of the drumstick I was thinking of having "healthy and safe" chocolate covered raspberries or almonds instead of what I actually wanted. Well I ate the cone. I just had the cone instead of overeating all of my chocolate covered health foods. I am truly so thankful for all you are teaching me. I am slowly trying to heal and get over all the guilt/fear I have around different foods. You have been so helpful. I cannot thank you enough. She wasn’t feeling well for some time with severe pain in her abdomen radiating to her back, went to the doctor and got all tests done. The doctor called her back (usually you have to call the doctors office for results here) and told her that he has never seen such high level of bacteria (cant remember which one it was). And then asked her if she was consuming unpasteurised products, because that would explain the results even its rarely this high.. so yeah, food safety measures are here for a reason…
