In December, you have the _Escalade_ which is a very important celebration , the _Coupe de Noël_ (swimming in the lake), and the _Restauration_ (celebrating the departure of the occupying French troops in 1813)
I am landing in Geneva on 21st December at 1:35 pm. I have booked a seat on the Glacier express from Brig on 24th December (9:14 am departure). My plan is to spend most of the time in the Jungfrau region, probably base myself in Interlaken and do day trips from there. Considering the short time that I have, should I spend a night in Geneva or head straight to Interlaken from the Geneva airport or break the trip and stay in Bern? I don't wish to spend a night in Brig. I could just take an early morning train from Interlaken to Spiez and then change for Brig.
I think you could check out Geneva for a little bit. It is easy to get to Geneva city center from airport, and you also could get to Interlaken from Geneva pretty easily. I also did this once a long time ago.

Years before this I had been there for the Escalade. Definitely a momentous time in Geneva
