I love the way this video was put together- hearing from the designer and client, and practical information mixed into seeing a beautiful inspirational room.
A very beautiful job was done here as far as choosing items that look good together. The amount of storage and small details are great, but I don't see it as being functional for someone who really cooks. The sink and fridge are too far away from the range. A second sink in the island would have helped a lot. Just a simple task of making a pot of pasta, getting the water, cooking it and draining it requires a lot of steps. I enjoyed the use of the cookbook wall, it looks great and is functional.
There is a standard traingular set up among the oven, sink and refrigerator keeping the distance of these things as close or nearby as possible to each other supposedly to make cooking and working in the kitchen easier. That being said, there is no rule that says you must abide by the standard setup, instead, it's probably better to design the layout that best fits your needs and your work in the kitchen because you are going to be in the kitchen most of the time.
You guys did an amazing job. Everyone learns and im thankful you took the time to show what you learned. Justin @Busted Cribs im taking some ideas from this.

I always thought that 30 k would be a really high end kitchen 🙈 my kitchen is north of 70k and when you see all the work they have to do I’m actually pleased with the price
We removed a wall to make a kitchen + dining room into one open concept room. Cabinets, basic appliances, new windows, plumbing, electrical, contractor labor... we're going to be well over $100,000... still not done and it's been about a year. The project has been a can of worms. Be prepared.
the problem with these designs is they make a house look like some damn showroom. Its supposed to be a HOUSE and warming and welcoming, not bright and cold

Is a functional work triangle no longer a thing? A small prep sink in the island next to the refrigerator would create a good triangle.

I would love to know what the kitchen counter is made out of and the floor color? Is it real wood?
For smells use a Lampe Berger. Will 100 percent get any smells out of your house.

They laugh about the impossibility of a reno for 25K in 4 weeks, but they don't say how much this cost or how long it took.
