- While we often film cars on the dyno we thought we'd take a closer look at what really goes on before your car is power tuned. Promaz shows us their processes and procedures on this very well presented 13B turbo Mazda wagon using Fueltech EFI.

Hope Broomy watches this
Really do appreciate Promaz for taking time showing us what they do on tuning their rotary engines
Ngl you should tag the person who owns it but good vid
Do those aftermarket fuel pump strainers collapse at higher fuel pressure?
Is there any drawbacks of using new oem pump strainers other than height? The oem strainers seem to be less flexible and prone to collapse under higher fuel pressure...
Absolutely awesome to see what goes on behind the scenes in making these beautiful cars really come to life with a good safe street & track tune.
Great video. Like a tutorial.. thanks . Need a part 2. More like this please! The Promaz Gentleman is a very Humble person. , lots of respect for him.
Love your features down at Promaz. There's so much more goes into a stand alone configuration then people realise before you even start on the rollers. Once your on its mostly steady state and cold start can only be done, you guessed it - when the engine is cold the next day. A great area to be knowledgeable in as an enthusiast.
We lived across the road from the Mazda dealer mid 70s. I remember dad coming home with an 808 wagon. Dad drove us from Townsville to Sydney to “show it off” to family 😂
It's always great to listen and watch an artisan at work, that little wagon rock's, another great video fullboost
So much knowledge from Simon! and so willing to share his secrets! top video lads
I love Rotary engines and all the cars that came with them , ths you for this
I can’t imagine how rowdy this thing really is. I making about half that wheel horsepower on the street and it’s a rocket.
Thanks for taking the time to show us the process, I’ll be reaching back out to you Simon to see about a/c bracket for my 8. Thanks guys
U had me at "promaz" this fellas knowledge is massive & enjoyed the video 😎😎👊👊👍👍👌👌✌✌
haha same here brother
Great to see a professional at work, thanks for the video gents
awesome video and love it that you showing it all on fueltech
The EGT information is invaluable. Thank you
Gorgeous car 😍
That era of Mazda produced some of the best looking wagons. The Capella and 929 that shared the Rx3 and RX4 front ends looked great. It was a damn shame that the piston rings were made from Cheese and they never had catalytic converters to mask the oil burn. If that had of been the case there would be a lot more around today.
#1 rule when tuning a rotary. Make sure you get the mix right with the 2 stroke oil.
This thing is perfect from every angle, well done to all involved.
Would love to know more about that cast aluminum cold side pipe/inlet.
Great video 🤙🍻
Cracker vid mate! 👌
Awesome video team. Simon explains it so even a dummy like me can understand it :o)
Great bud guys
Ive used apexi/link/haltech but never a fuel tech, might try this next.SW looks great
Great looking Car and interesting insight on the fuel tech system.. Would like to see more on basic set up for Rotary fuel and ignition set up…
Broomys Garage has an FT setup video maybe check that out. 👍
Looking forward to a.i tuning.
Epic!
Nice
Good Mazda Rotary engine
God dam, these guys really know doritos. That guy is like Rotory Einstein?
@12:10, spark cut.
My 93 FD is cutting boost as soon it hit 8psi, what should I look for to find the issue? Running stock twins!
How long will an engine like this last? I do like rotarys.
Sickk
Can you make a video about how to afford a rotary engine?
Back in my day a 20b was a big deal! For real, I would love to put a 20b in my 944 turbo but they run hot and they're incredibly inefficient on fuel....and the egt's are higher than piston engines which means a hot engine bay and cracked exhaust headers ect.
What ecu is this running
Are we going to see them tune the latest and greatest rotary in the Mazda MX-30 R-EV?
Maybe 👍
"Sorry you've charged me how much for a tune???!" - yeah this is why
Get what you pay for

@@Barrapotter 6 rotor's sound next level😳😳🔥th-cam.com/video/4TJ7az4_BQ0/w-d-xo.html
I have been a fullboost fan since before youtube existed, but i tell ya what all these late videos with the Fueltech stuff is making me swing towards that brand ECU for my jza80 one day. Im torn between a Haltech elite 2000 and some kinda fueltech. Im not interested in a electronic TB, so tell me where I should go legends and why. The car is being build for circuit
not many shops tuning or selling Fueltech here is the biggest issue
In all honestly if you are planning on using a particular tuner l would speak to them and see what they prefer to use.
@@fullboost A good tuner can tune anything, once a tuner forced me into a brand only to find out later he was just copying and pasting stuff he already had (probably stolen from another tuner) and my car never worked right
@@tetracontrol unfortunately you got a dodgy tuner.
How I get in contact with this man? I need him to tune mine I have same exact setup. Thank you.
What system are you using to tune the engine
Fueltech.
I thought rotaries were tuned by measuring the amount of raw fuel coming out the exhaust?
Works for the diesel guys...
So this car is still pp?
😊
i wonder how a 10 or 12a would make a tuk tuk go...
got a sad tuk tuk here, missing an engine... one of the only aussie compliant ones... not one of the recent thai restuarant imports... westfields... circa the 90s. was once a going concern. childhood love affair and the witch broke my heart when i found one... crankcase full of water and the replacement from thailand was held hostage by some shipping company... along with various others. whatever. its got a compliance platee, commercial vehicle, can stick anything that fits in it. at 350mm iirc between rails... not much!
and then its just sat and rotted as i cant bear to part with it...
Leno is #1
Split fire spark plugs.
This was sick 👌🏼🤙🏼
Thank god for power seals 😂
Original theme? Lol!
All that coin should have done RX3 coupe
The interior still has a 70s feel to it, perhaps the owner prefers the wagon.
@@fullboost Perhaps the owner has terrible taste.
How to tune your rotary engine the right way:
Step 1: Set A/F ratios to 10:1 everywhere at all times.
Step 2: Advance timing until you start losing compression.
Step 3: Wind timing back 1 degree.
Step 4: There is no step 4, your rotary engine is perfectly tuned.
Nasty
Poor pannel beater 🩸🎨👨🚌
Many rotarys are German.
Wankel Engine. Mazda is Japanese. Owned by Ford. More recently Toyota. Lol
Felix Wankel is my hero. @@josephgee2515
"good for the enviroment" lmao,, less bad
